Our unique and diverse cultures enrich our lives, helping us to build resilient, innovative and inclusive communities. UNESCO’s priority is to preserve, promote and share these aspects of humanity. We seek to celebrate our shared heritage, because culture is a global public good. We would like to extend a special thanks to Her Royal Highness Princess Dana Firas, UNESCO’s Goodwill Ambassador, for participating in our video.
Our culture.
Our living heritage.
They are an open book of our collective diversity.
Thousands of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Cities and landmarks from around the world.
Symbols of identity and history.
Each with unique emotions and values.
Because culture is a global public good.
It's our shared heritage.
It connects us all, building bonds and bridges among people.
Giving shape and meaning to our collective progress.
This is the value of cultural heritage.
But this heritage is fragile.
Threatened by wars and looting.
By climate change and rising sea levels.
Globalization and neglect.
We must unite to protect and preserve it.
Pushing our governments to enforce international cultural law.
We must unite to pass it on to future generations.
Backing UNESCO's efforts to support artists, museums and sites from around the world.
Because without our diverse cultural heritage,
we lose a reservoir of ideas for us to reinvent our societies.
To unleash creativity.
To generate solutions.
And write the next chapter of our human history.
We must become more than the sum of our parts.
And contribute to the growing inventory of our shared humanity.
The more we share it, the more we all thrive, connect and understand one another.
Sharing humanity is promoting cultural heritage and diversity.
Join the share.
