Meet the first Black woman to earn a Michelin star in France!

Georgiana Viou was born and raised in Benin, then moved to France 20 years ago. The self-taught chef began her career in Marseille in the 2000s. Her cuisine brings together dishes she learned from her mother, some she picked up from books, and ones she gathered from a range of French restaurants during her internships. She's combined those elements with her own techniques, and her resulting creations were such a success that in 2023 she was awarded her Michelin star.
