Sundown SFB Amps Review

but now [Music] so [Music] oh my god what is that smell oh my goodness what is it oh must be the sundown sfb lineup let's get that out of here oh it stinks it's just trash what's good youtube man it's your boy on dove coming at y'all with another video here uh today we're going to take a look at the uh highly marketed and very well campaign ran sundown full bridge sfb amp lineup uh sundown has been promoting these things like crazy so we're gonna go ahead and take a a look at these amps um i have a couple here uh ranging from the 200.4 the sfb 3000 the 600d ah so we're going to go ahead and dive into these amps and i'm gonna give my honest opinion my honest review on these amps and just go ahead and just lay it all out on the line man um so let's get into the video just a moment here all right folks so what you see right here in front of you is a sundown uh sfb was is their sundown full bridge uh 3000d over here we have a sundown sfb 200.4 and a little bit out the frame we have a sundown uh 600d uh this is one of the newly acquired amps that i just got uh maybe roughly about a week ago or so um but let's go ahead and get into it as promised man [Music] there's no other way around it um i'm not trying to be um i want to call it a grumpy gus or negative nancy or anything like that but i'm gonna be completely honest with y'all man these amps suck i think i just figured something out beavis what this sucks yeah it really [ __ ] um in my journey of dealing with these sundown sfb amps man um the first one that i initially had was the sundown 8k be all the way honest with it about it i had no issues with that amp um i didn't like the low end output that the amp was putting out once again uh as i say that i did have that amp on uh three score ddx10s and um they were in a prefab enclosure so take that for what you will at the end of the day i can just be honest with my own personal review uh that amp did not put out great on the low end so i don't know maybe i'm being biased because i'm not feeling the whole full bridge thing when it comes to bass i know hey the high pass filter matter of fact i'll put this up here you have your crossovers which is uh let's see the high pass on this side low end on this side here um basically what they're saying to do is you can use the high pass filter as your subsonic all fine and dandy uh at the end of the day i do have the crossover calibrator uh so i can dial in my crossovers and especially with an amp like this you definitely need a tool like that uh so i can dial in my crossover is perfectly fine and good to go there uh but with me it just like i said i'm sorry i wasn't getting the low end response that i felt that i should have got once again refer back to the enclosure could have been the design flaw i don't know it is what it is but just me personally i wasn't feeling the output that i was getting now purchase your tracks sfb what happened if you don't know the story behind these amps i'm going to go ahead and tell you that right now so if you don't know jacob fuller is the owner of sundown one of the days one of these days a couple years back jacob fuller was on the toilet he was leaving a hot boiling doctor in there and he thought when he started wiping what should i do he looked down in that toil and he saw he he saw what was in there he said you know what i should turn that stuff down in that toilet into a whole lineup of amps and the sundown sob lineup was born sundown full bush i'm not gonna say it but that's what it is sundown full bs they should put an extra s on the end of that there man so sundown full bridge stands for sundown full bullsh whatever you know uh so hence the sfb line was born man so now uh we have these things ranging from i believe this little 600d all the way up to the 13.5 um and to get these amps off what sundown also did was went into a marketing campaign like no tomorrow they had um derek had it from sundown unofficial pushing the hell out of these things obviously all social media and whatnot they were pushing the hell out of these i fell for it uh you know at the end of the day i'm not ashamed to say it man i fell for it i went for the marketing uh when they came out with the sfb 1k and whatnot i've seen the kind of power that it was putting out and i had to have it so i think if i'm not mistaken the sundown 1k was the first amp that i grabbed um and you know it is what it is man so um i'll say this man when it comes to amps i'm that guy too i'll sit down and watch big d wiz all freaking day long was one of my favorite youtube channels but he says it and i'll say it too i've said it in the past but i'll say it now as well just because the amp does rated power or better than rated power i like this 3k like the 600 and this is a 200.4 um i've had the 500.4 man they've done better than rated power just because the amp does more than rated power or rated power does not mean that it's a good amp case in point this entire lineup if you're looking for something to wipe your hind parts when you're done on that toilet this is going to be hella hard and harsh to white wits but they were made on the same bases of the stuff that's down in the toilet bowl oh man sundown what the hell were y'all thinking when y'all put out these amps man yes made in china i don't know where the hell is that there it is made in china says it on this one as well made in china so what so what y'all finally wanted to go ahead and make some amps in china so what man everything doesn't have to come out of korea but if you're going to make a chinese amp maybe do like jp is doing find out what the amp is doing when you go to testing and say hey you know what then puts out a thousand watt it didn't put out 1200 watts but let me put jp8 on it so i can market it as a 800 watt amp and then when they do the dyno oh my god it did xyz it does way more than 800 watts but it also sounds good it looks good i can put this in my car with pride and don't have to worry about it these forget about it man like i said i've had two of the s b 1000s i've had the s b 8 cables the only one well the s b ak and sfe uh 500.4 were the only two amps that i was satisfied with uh going outside of that the one cave i never really got around to using those so it is what it is we'll call it a watch on that but i've been using this for the last couple of weeks if not a month or so i just installed this earlier and was like no that's coming right back out just got this um doing some toying with it and whatnot uh not really going to run it probably going gonna sell it uh but yeah man sundown sfb man if you have an opportunity or if you have the money maybe sit back and wait um i do have a ground ice solution isolation i'm sorry a ground isolation tool that i can use to get these filter caps to get the noise out but i'm just i'm over it man so um you'll be seeing these on a facebook marketing plate facebook marketplace coming near you i don't know i don't know what it what the hell your local area is what it is what it is man but at the end of the day this one just got it recently that's going back to down for sound store credit i could care less because i'm going to buy something else the other two i have no idea what i'm going to do with them but more than like like i said probably end up on facebook marketplace man so boy the sundown dropped the ball when it came to this and i understand mass production is real but when you keep running across these amps and they keep having the same issues left or right i'm serious people at the end of the day please for the love of christ save your money don't buy the sfb man leave them on the show listen to message the sundown which is supposed to be the holy grail of car audio and i know i'ma get a lot of kickback on this i don't care all you sundown fanboys i'm here for it bring that noise come to the channel be negative the whole nine i'm opening the doors for you if you disagree with this video get at me that's the best i can tell you man so sundown full bs line is just that it's bs let's go ahead and i'm cutting i'm sorry i'm cutting the cord on this man i'm done with sundown i never bought their subs i probably never will by their subs because of the fanboys and this right here granted like i said it's their budget uh line up sundown full budget whatever sundown full budget lineup and whatnot and sundown full of trash that's at the end of the day i don't know what chinese build house they use to make these amps uh they could have did a whole heck of a lot better man if you're gonna have to get to the point to where you feel comfortable putting your name on a product man make sure it works first that's business i mean you know at the end of the day i don't own one but i know if i was going to put my name on something mass production or not i want to make sure that it's quality man quality is something that you want to associate with your name and that's what all you fanboys say sundown is a holy grail of car audio no they're not sundown drop the ball in car audio when they came out with this whole lineup of crap i'm here for it man fanboys come on through it's your boy yonda any questions comments concerns get at me i try to get back to everybody man uh 2022 let's get it going got a new build in the works because i got to get rid of all this stuff man so i'm here for it i know this kind of negative video so it is what it is like i said sundown fanboys come see me about it man i'm here for it this time all comments positive negative or welcome man i'm i'm about to go scrub my toilet bowl with let's see probably this one all right folks so no disrespect to sundown um at the end of the day yes i know like i said this video it's kind of done in a negative light um but like i said i'm sorry man it is what it is um for sundown to hype up these amps the way that they did uh you'd be better off going to ebay and just finding something man um at the end of the day this lineup had so much potential and that's the thing that kind of grinds my gears the most with it is the fact that they were marketed like no tomorrow man uh these ants were promoted to high heavens man and like i said still at the end of the day uh if sundown just maybe put a little bit more money into them and say you know what uh yes we want to give y'all a budget option but um once again there are certain standards that these m's have to meet have to meet because they have the sundown audio logo on it uh they have a sundown name with it which like i've stated in this video a lot of you fanboys out there of this company figured that sundown is the holy grail of car audio personally i just don't see it that way especially after um more than a few of these amps under my belt and all of them pretty much having the same issue with the engine noise and things like that man so another thing i just came to my um back in my mind it's not just the engine noise with these amps either they're supposed to be one ohm stable i put this in my car last night this is a 600 watt amp i don't give a damn what your electrical is looking like and granted i have 3-0 wire on these jokers put this thing at an on load of four four ohms it's freaking 17 degrees out here on nebraska on the way home this thing cut out this one here um what are they they're all one ohm stable this one i had yeah i had this bridge down to four ohms as well just channels one and two um technically i wasn't using channels three and four they weren't hooked up same thing cut out uh my 8 000 i needed a fan on that my 500.4 i need to defend on that and the thing that trips me out when you look at the amp chassis hopefully y'all can see that that's my finger on the backside of that you would think that they would put fans in these uh because they most certainly need them man in this thing i like this trust me this is the little 600 watt amp i like the chassis man i like the heatsink on these man this is very nice so much potential and unfortunately like i said man suddenly i'll have to drop the ball on this because um at the end of the day i would love to be the guy to say hey man these things are amazing uh amazing value it's insane uh the amount of power you that you get for what you pay and yada yada yada man but that's not the case so and then once again panel style or tiffany's dell rca these things have so much potential but at the end of the day i'd rather just go ahead and leave them on the shelf i am done dylan um with all the sundown engine noise and whatever else comes along with this man so like i said at the end of the day if anybody wants to come comment on the video obviously i'm looking for comments on here uh whether it be positive or negative come on come with it um i'll go ahead and take that charge man so i guess this is the little ps part of the video uh but yeah it just came to my attention i had i thought about that when i hooked this up last night um on the way home four on load once again she's one home stable uh four on low she cut out for maybe like a minute and i hit the interstate and she came back on and whatnot uh cut out and then came back on i was like what what the hell so um it is what it is all of these as far as i know across the amp lineup uh they're all one ohm stable uh i've got two score mpx six and a halves in my car at the moment eight ohm bridge down to four ohms uh they were bridged down the forum on this cutout bridge at um forum on this this is a monolamp so i really don't have a choice but to go with that on load uh and it's still cut out man so um sorry sorry to post a negative video if you want to look at it that way but at the end of the day this is my full honest review on this entire uh lineup of these amps leave them on the shelf man save some money a little bit wait a little while you have to uh save some money get something else like i said this one here is new uh so this is going back to sundown this one has a rma on it right now i've been had rma on this for like a month so i got to send this back to sundown and at 3k i'm just gonna have to try to sell them in so stay tuned a lot more updates coming on the channel a lot more positive stuff uh i've been saying it all 2021 i'll try to do it in 2022 as well uh remain positive whatnot man but you
