What does the month of October 2025 promise for you and for the wider world? In this World Astrology Report forecast episode, we'll focus on the main developments of the month, aiming to give you a concise run-down of what you need to know—before it happens.
The members-only version of the video features a review of recent astrology and events, including Charlie Kirk's killing, 3I/ATLAS and Trump's designs on Venezuela.
Eclipses, assassinations, millions protesting, governments falling and the continuing incursion
of the bizarre interstellar object 3i atlas into our solar system, September had it all.
But what's next?
October promises a strong intensification of Plutonian energy.
Pluto brings deep transformation through processes of death and rebirth.
It's a planet of raw power and in the sign of Aquarius it's signifying the emergence of a new
multipolar world where power is distributed more evenly around the globe.
In October expect eruptions of suppressed or hidden energies into the visible world,
expect revolutionary energy and expect more signs that the geopolitical landscape is shifting
dramatically.
But there's also some really nice astrology this month,
including one of the most positive new moons we've seen in many months,
coming to the sign of Libra.
Could this new moon bring fresh efforts to make peace in parts of the world currently hit by
conflict?
In this video I'll aim to give you a concise slowdown on all the astrology of the month
and how it might affect you and the wider world.
I'm your host Dan Waits, this is World Astrology Report,
and welcome to another journey into the past to understand the present and the future.

Now I'm going to be changing how I do things on this forecast episode this month.
Usually we start these forecasts with a review of events and the astrology of the previous month,
but there's so much happening right now that I'm finding that I just can't fit it all in
and say what I want to say and keep the video to a reasonable length.
And I get the sense that many of you would rather I just move straight into the forecasting
rather than spending loads of time talking about things that already happened.
So what I'm going to do this time is just jump straight into the forecast.
In the extended version for Members of World Astrology Report,
whether on YouTube or on the website, I'm going to do the usual monthly review.
We're going to look at Charlie Kirk's murder, Trump's burgeoning war with Venezuela,
3i Atlas, and a lot of other stuff.
But don't worry, I'm also going to weave in commentary about things that have already
happened to make sure that it all still makes sense for everyone who's following on YouTube.
Let me know what you think about this in the comments and let's get into it.
This month's full moon takes place in Mars's diurnal fire sign of Aries.
So it's going to highlight the themes of pioneering, exploration, self-discovery,
and expression. Aries has a kind of shoot first, ask questions later attitude.
Events on Aries' full moon tend to move fast.
Now full moons bring culminations, revelations, and turning points.
And there are always moments of polarization because when they take place,
the sun and moon are in opposing signs.
When a full moon takes place in Aries, the sun is in Libra.
So besides the Aries themes, the sun will also highlight another part of your life in which you
strive for balance and harmony and where you're much more concerned with your social milieu
and those around you.
The contrast here then will be between the self and society.
Now this particular full moon is in a wide square to Jupiter.
The square to Jupiter is not necessarily a bad thing, but it can bring out Jupiter's
tendency to inflate and expand things beyond prudent levels.
So we might expect events around this time that have the flavor of exuberance, enthusiasm,
daring, or boldness.
But there may also be the potential to get carried away by optimism and
act without thinking things through.
On the world stage, an Aries full moon brings forth themes like warfare and the military,
metals and sharp tools, and exploration, colonization, and pioneering.
The culmination of an Aries moon with a strong Jupiter influence
looks to me like it could also bring protests.
Last year's Aries full moon came on October the 17th of 2024.
That was a particularly explosive full moon because it was in a tight square to war planet Mars.
Around that time there was a deadly fuel tanker explosion in Jagawa state of Nigeria
that killed more than 140 people.
And astro mapping tells an interesting story here.
At the moment that that full moon went exact, the sun was right on the midheaven over Nigeria.
The same moon brought a massive nationwide blackout in Cuba.
And again, at the moment the full moon went exact, the sun was rising on the horizon there.
For the full moon in October,
countries most likely to feel its effects include the UK, France, and Germany.
Given that this is a Mars-ruled moon which has a strong Jupiter influence,
we might see news that has to do with support for Ukraine at this time.
And I think that Palestine, which resonates to the sign of Aries, will once again be in the news.
That'll do for the full moon.
Something else to bear in mind about this month is that it's going to have a ton of Pluto influence.
Let's talk about Pluto.
Pluto is currently retrograding its way back through Aquarius.
On October the 14th it will station direct,
which means we'll feel an intensification of Plutonian energy.
Pluto brings profound transformation,
usually through crisis and processes of death and rebirth.
It also signifies power in general, particularly hidden power.
It has to do with very small things with very big consequences.
Think of nuclear explosions which unleash the power hidden in each atom.
Right now Pluto is currently out of bounds,
meaning that it has a declination beyond the minimum southern declination of the sun.
This is said to mean that Pluto will act with less restraint than usual.
It's not beholden to the usual rules and limits of conduct.
I use the words said to mean deliberately because quite frankly,
out of bounds planets aren't something I've done a ton of research on myself.
There are some very good astrologers who have,
like Rosie Finn, author of Persephone's Revolution.
She's found that when Pluto is out of bounds to the south,
we've tended to see revolutions.
Recent examples of that are the French and American revolutions,
and in the cycle before that one, the Protestant Reformation.
Pluto went out of bounds around August the 29th of this year,
so September's been the first month we've been able to witness
what Pluto out of bounds looks like on the ground.
That revolutionary energy has been expressing itself all over the place,
particularly in England, something I covered in this recent video.
France is also on the brink.
And last month also saw a remarkable sequence of revolutionary events in Nepal,
which people are calling the Gen Z protests,
because they were organized by young people and students who started mass protests
after the government imposed bans on several social media platforms.
The same protests also reflected anger at government corruption and nepotism.
The prime minister ended up stepping down,
and the country's first female premier stepped in instead.
What's interesting about this is the heavy involvement of technology
in this revolutionary story.
The protests were sparked by a ban on social media,
and the kids organized them on Discord of all places.
I see some shoots of hope in this story because it shows the transformational potential
of the technologies we're using today, and it feels very Pluto in Aquarius.
Now in October, I suspect that the combination of Pluto being both out of bounds
and stationing direct will signify a lot more Plutonian energy in the air.
That means the unleashing of pent-up or hidden forces,
deep transformations, and revolutionary energy.
You might also want to pay attention to the Aquarius whole sign house in your natal chart.
There's a process of deep transformation that will take 20 years
that's underway in that part of your life.
It may involve a death and rebirth process and a profound empowerment.
Pay attention to what the Pluto direct station brings,
and around the time of the Pluto direct station,
we're going to see an incredible astrological configuration,
because on October the 13th, Venus enters her home sign of Libra,
where she'll remain until November the 6th.
Venus is strong in Libra. This is her domicile.
It's a place from which she's able to create balance and harmony,
and to repair imbalances and discord.
Mars recently transited through Libra and might have left a mess
in the part of your life signified by the Libra whole sign house.
But Venus's return to that sign should bring a process of recovery,
and as soon as Venus enters Libra,
she forms a grand trine in the air signs with Pluto and Uranus.
Both Uranus and Pluto are powerfully transformative planets,
and they're both going to be empowering Venus.
This looks like a moment when we might see great breakthroughs
that have to do with love, friends, the arts, and wealth,
as well as airy themes like communication, information, and connection.
On the world stage, look for revolutionary agreements around this time.
I've pointed out before how Uranus reveals from above,
and Pluto reveals from below,
and perhaps we might expect to see more revelations about the past at this time.
It may take the form of visual images of great beauty.
Now let's move on and talk about this month's new moon,
because it happens to be one of the best lunations I've seen in many months.
On October the 21st, we'll see a new moon at 28 degrees of Libra.
New moons signify new beginnings,
and honestly, I have to say that I love this new moon.
It's one of the best lunations we've seen in quite some time.
Why is that, you say?
Well, as we've already seen, Venus will have moved into Libra by this time,
so the ruler of the sign where the lunation takes place
will be present with the sun and the moon
and able to guide things productively towards Venusian goals
like balance, harmony, beauty, love, and wealth.
What's more, Jupiter makes a fairly close square to the new moon,
so we also have a lot of influence here from the greater benefic,
the planet of expansion, faith, and optimism.
New moons aren't times to actually roll out concrete changes in our lives.
Remember, the moon isn't actually visible at this time,
but they are times when seeds are planted
and new ideas start to percolate through consciousness.
And so this looks like an excellent time to envision or start manifestation work
around something related to Libran themes like the arts,
society, romance, social and romantic relationships,
as well as contracts and agreements.
Perhaps Libra is your fifth house.
This new moon could indicate that romance is stirring for you
or that something sweet is on the way for your children.
Or perhaps it's your ninth,
and it might foreshadow pleasant travel experiences or success in higher education.
Now, at a mundane level,
given that the lunation happens in Venus's sign of Libra,
the sign of negotiation and balance,
and given that it has a ton of influence from the two life-promoting
benefic planets of Venus and Jupiter,
I do wonder if this moon could bring fresh efforts
to bring peace to some of the conflict zones of the world.
There were heavy Libra activations around the October 7th Hamas attack in 2023,
so perhaps this could include Gaza.
Anyway, do make the most of that moon.
It's a thing of rare beauty in my opinion.
Now let's move on and talk about something quite different.
Neptune's return to Pisces.
On October the 22nd, Neptune will return to Pisces
for one final three-month stint in the sign of the fissures.
It'll return to Aries on January the 26th,
and then the Neptune in Aries era will truly be underway.
So we're in a transitional phase right now.
Neptune is a tricky customer to understand sometimes
because its effects in mundane astrology can be quite subtle.
Neptune generates a background vibe that colors the times,
but that doesn't necessarily manifest in obvious ways,
at least not in the short term.
Neptune is the planet of the ideal and imaginal.
Its sign placement indicates the nature of social and cultural trends in society,
as well as style and fashion,
and the kind of people held to be exemplars and heroes in society.
Pisces is the oceanic sign,
one that doesn't really care about boundaries
because its fundamental message is that all is one.
Neptune in Pisces broadly signified the so-called woke era.
It was a time that saw the popularization of new approaches to gender and sexuality
that crossed the usual boundaries.
It was a time when everyone started to use the language of trauma and therapy speak,
when everyone started talking about things like gaslighting and boundaries
and speaking one's truth.
And there was a sense that trauma or victimization
almost became things to celebrate.
All this feels like the influence of Pisces,
a sign that can be romantic, idealistic, and sometimes even quite tragic.
If you happen to watch reality TV,
you might have noticed how in many of the shows these days,
there's a bit in which every contestant talks about the tragedies
they've been through in life.
The message seems to be that every person is a walking tragedy of some kind.
Over the last few months,
I've watched a lot of reality TV show Married at First Sight,
aka Maths, don't at me.
And honestly, this show strikes me as a vivid example
of the Neptune in Pisces aesthetic and vibe.
In the show, couples literally get married
without ever having met each other before.
In other words, they skip straight to the happily ever after part of the story.
Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac,
but it's also a sign that can at times be a bit out of touch with reality.
Call me cynical, but one might say it's a little delusional
to think that you can just marry a stranger and live happily ever after.
There's also an illusory aspect to the show too, though,
which is also something we associate with Neptune.
Over time, you start to realize that many, if not most of the contestants,
don't actually care that much about their so-called marriages.
They just want to be on TV.
And here's where this gets really interesting.
Any sign activation will also activate the opposing sign as a kind of foil.
Pisces' opposing sign is Virgo, the sign of technical expertise.
The couples on Maths are matched by relationship experts
who supposedly use quote unquote science to match them together.
They then try to help them navigate their marriages as inevitable problems surface.
And so the show switches between the couples and their Piscean romances
and the experts who dissect their behavior in sometimes cutting ways,
but which are also intended to be helpful.
Hello, Virgo.
We're now entering the last stages of the Neptune in Pisces era now.
With Neptune at the very end of the zodiac, the end of the story,
look out for a sense that we're at the end of the world story in various ways.
There's a definite eschatological tone to the discourse of the current times.
There's the idea that the end of the world is near.
Keep your eyes open for more of that as Neptune joins Saturn in the last degrees of the zodiac.
I suspect that Saturn and Neptune in late Pisces from now until early next year,
we also have to reckon with the potential for more disasters at sea
or those that involve water in some way.
And we may also see some big stories that have to do with migration,
including forces pushing for more of it,
as well as the establishment of boundaries that limit or restrict it.
And do bear in mind that the Neptune in Aries era is already underway.
It won't suddenly go away when Neptune leaves Aries for Pisces.
Neptune in Aries is going to bring forth cultural and ideological trends
with a more masculine flavor.
Expect the exaltation of manliness,
taking action, exploration, and the assertion of sovereignty and identity.
It's pretty clear how the murder of Charlie Kirk has helped to give political momentum to the right,
and I don't think that's going to grind to a halt when Neptune leaves Aries for Pisces.
And now I have one final thing to talk to you about Scorpio season.
On October the 23rd, the sun moves from Libra into the sign of Scorpio,
the nocturnal water sign of Mars, the war planet.
Scorpio is one of the four fixed signs of the zodiac.
Its season arrives in the middle of autumn in the northern hemisphere.
At this time of year, there's no seasonal turning point,
just days that grow shorter and shorter day by day.
Light steadily seeds grounds to darkness,
and so there's a sense that we're in steady descent deeper through the underworld.
Life was, is, and will be difficult, and even that we need to defend ourselves against attack.
Scorpio is the nocturnal sign of Mars.
What does the warrior do after the sun sets?
Well, he analyzes and strategizes, among other things.
Scorpio wants to know exactly what everyone else is up to,
what their secrets are, what makes them tick.
It's a sign of depth of understanding, of psychology, psychoanalysis.
Scorpios make the keenest observers of humanity.
In my experience, they have a deep understanding of how people relate to each other,
and of the hidden dynamics and emotional bindings that underlie social situations.
But Mars is also the planet of desire.
No sign experiences desire as keenly as Scorpio.
It almost luxuriates in it.
The Scorpionic life teaches you what it means to be trapped in the wheel of Samsara.
All three water signs, including Scorpio, have a spiritual side.
Scorpio walks in the shadow of death,
and there's nothing like that to awaken you to spiritual truth.
The Icelandic singer Björk has her sun and moon in Scorpio.
She once described herself as a fountain of blood in the shape of a girl.
She's also famous for her photographs on the cover of her albums,
in which she stares intently into the camera.
Scorpios are well known for their icy gaze.
Of this, she says,
The reason I do photographs is to help people understand my music.
So it's very important that I am the same,
emotionally, in the photographs as in the music.
Most people's eyes are much better developed than their ears.
If they see a certain emotion in the photograph, then they'll understand the music.
And so I'll wish you a wonderful Scorpio season.
May you use it to gaze under the surface
and understand profound truths about the lives of those around you.
That's it for this October forecast video.
Thanks for watching and see you again very soon.
