Chaos in Vietnam Today! Typhoon Bualoi Debris Flow Swept Away Homes in Ha Tinh

Typhoon Bualoi, the tenth storm to strike Vietnam this year, slammed into Nghe An province with wind speeds reaching up to 130 km/h. The typhoon’s massive radius and rapid movement triggered a cascade of natural disasters — flash floods, landslides, coastal inundation, and infrastructure collapse. In Quang Tri Province: Fishing communities were devastated. Four boats sank, leaving 12 fishermen missing. Rescue operations are ongoing amid treacherous sea conditions. In Ninh Binh Province: Strong winds collapsed homes, killing six people and injuring several others. The province remains under emergency alert as water levels continue to rise. In Thanh Hoa: A falling tree claimed one life, and power outages affected thousands of households. In Nghe An, where the storm first made landfall, residents described a night of terror. “I stayed awake the whole night fearing the door would be pulled off by strong winds,” said Ho Van Quynh, a local resident. His neighbors reinforced their homes with sandbags and plywood as electricity failed across the district. Four domestic airports — including those in Da Nang and Vinh — were shut down, leading to hundreds of flight cancellations and delays. In particular, the water level on the Ngan Pho River (Huong Son mountainous commune, Ha Tinh) is rising very quickly, at 7:00 a.m. this morning (September 29) it exceeded the alarm level 3 by 115cm. In Phu Yen commune, Son La province, Ban pass area has many landslides, fallen trees blocking the road, rocks and soil spilling onto the road causing traffic congestion.
