I finally made it to somewhere that I've been trying to get to for as long as I've lived
in Vietnam for five years.
I've heard about this place.
I finally made it to Tak Ban Dauk, Ban Dauk Waterfall in Cao Bang.
It's the biggest waterfall, the most famous waterfall in Vietnam and it looks super badass.
So we're way up in the northeastern mountains of Vietnam on the border of China.
It's on the other side of the river is China.
A couple hours driving on the motorbike to get up here.
Ah, it's sick though.
This beer, Lee Kuan, Chinese beer.
Yo, have you ever found a better spot to have a cold beer in front of this massive waterfall?
It's unfortunate that we can't swim, but the beers will do.
I think we might be able to sneak a little dip somewhere.
So what do you think?
Pretty impressive, right?
Yeah.
I wasn't expecting it to be this nice.
I've heard a few stories about how the waterfalls aren't that great, but I think this is pretty
spectacular.
So I'm pretty impressed with this place.
I don't know.
I think I'm just a sucker for waterfalls.
I love me a good waterfall.
Two hours on the bike to get here.
There's also a massive cave we're going to go check out after this.
I think we'll jump on one of these boats, try to get really close to the water.
Right, so you can get on this little boat, 50k a person.
We got super lucky.
We got our own boat.
Every other boat is kind of packed, but it was just kind of the timing, there was nobody
around when we got on the boat.
You get super close up to the waterfall, great view.
You can feel the water, it's coming out super strong, you get really wet.
Super incredible.
I'm very impressed.
It's everything I hoped it would be.
Can't beat the Northern Mountains of Vietnam.
They're my favorite place in the whole world.
Alright, we're finishing up the day.
We finally arrived to our homestay.
It's called Nha Mo.
It's way out in the middle of nowhere, way in the rice fields.
About another hour and a half, two hour drive from the waterfall.
But definitely worth it when we arrive here.
Super beautiful.
Looks like we're the only people here, but just really nice, really nice place out here
in the mountains and the rice fields.
Well deserved beer after about three and a half, four hours on the bike today.
Super good first day on the bike trip.
Saw the waterfall, cave, super impressive, really big cave.
Fun to walk through that one.
So yeah, got a little bit roasted today, but weather was good, sunny, so gonna be a lot
of cold beers tonight and we'll go get cleaned up for dinner.
So he's cooking some more fried pork for us tonight I think.
So looking forward to that.
This place we're staying tonight looks like it's $300k for a bed in the dorm rooms, which
is a really good deal.
It's about $12 for a really nice dorm room, really comfortable beds.
Yeah, highly recommend.
I would come to Cao Bang over Sa Pa, over Ha Giang loop.
So this is our first day of a four or five day bike trip and it's been really good so
far.
Alright, cool little pit stop this morning.
This is called Nui Ma Tun, the Angel Eye Mountain.
We just drove the bikes down here, it's super muddy, super sketchy, Sholta's gonna try to
get back up now.
Woo!
Yeah, I'm a little bit nervous about that, gotta get up that hill.
But yeah, little lake down here.
So this is two minutes from the homestay we stayed last night.
You can camp over here, they got a bunch of tents set up, bunch of kids are out on paddle
boards.
So yeah, good little detour, Nui Ma Tun.
I'll just try to get out of here alive.
Gotta be in one for sure.
Yeah baby!
That's it.
Easy does it.
Gettin' on the road?
Going?
Alright, that was a little sketchy.
Made it out.
Now we'll get back on the road.
This is Dak San, a Dai, Qua Manh Muot, Mong Muot, it's like a, try it.
Good?
It's like a weird, try it.
It'll spit out the seeds.
No, it's weird.
Weird, it's sour, right?
I actually enjoyed it, but it was pretty hard to taste.
Never seen any fruit like this in my life.
It's sour, it literally tastes like a grape with a flavor of lemon.
Right?
Interesting.
That looks sea-long.
My man's got the setup on the side of the road.
I think a hundred is gonna be plenty.
What's up?
Just hope we don't get sucked away.
Nah.
Oh yeah!
Baby!
