Most people want luxury. Few are ready to adopt the mindset that creates it. This is your daily reminder to think bigger.
Bet against me. Bet against me.
Tell me it's not gonna happen.
Tell me it's gonna fail.
I love you.
In the end, I don't care whether you love me or you hate me,
just as long as I win.
But it's like, oh, do you wanna do this or not?
Which is what I think a lot of it boils down to.
Do you actually wanna do this or not?
Cause if you actually wanna do it,
what's gonna stop you? Nothing.
And if you don't really wanna do it,
what's gonna stop you?
Just about anything that comes up.
Just about any obstacle that gets in your way
becomes an excuse,
it becomes a reason, it becomes a rationale
for not proceeding down that path.
The second we put ourselves amongst the uncommon people,
we don't like that feeling.
That challenging feeling of that person's looking at you at 3.30 in the morning
saying, hey, push your fit off, we're going for a run.
We don't like that challenge.
We like that person who says, hey,
you know what I mean, I don't feel good today, man.
And they say, oh, it's okay, brother.
Take the day off, maybe get a pizza and ----, that's the game.
We like that.
We love that feeling. Why?
Cause you understand, man, we're good, bro.
We don't want that motherf***er like this.
Hey, man, no, bro.
Push your f***ing fit on, man.
Stop being a punk.
We don't want that in our lives.
We don't want that person constantly challenging our weaknesses.
People wonder, how do you stay hungry all the time?
Because after I accomplish something,
I don't sit back like a lot of guys who graduate buzz,
graduate this, graduate that.
You get comfortable.
They wonder why I'm getting weak, man.
I don't know, I've lost my edge.
What's going on?
Cause once you hit the top of the f***ing mountain, guess what happens?
I'm good.
So you wonder why you're falling down now.
Because once you hit the top of the mountain,
you gotta build a f***ing new one.
That's mediocrity.
There's a lot of people in mediocrity
who have a nice resume,
but they're one-timers, man.
They hit a one-time deal,
they busted it open, got a lot of money,
but they're good.
You're mediocre now, man.
There comes a day where being average,
being mediocre,
is just sickening to you.
It's just sickening.
It makes you want to throw up.
Because you've seen people with far less talent than you.
As you're growing up with them,
they're childhood buddies or whatever else.
They didn't have what you had.
Yet now, they're f***ing gonna become something that you hadn't.
When you're built different than everybody else,
and you have this desire for more,
and this desire for achievement,
and this desire to win,
everybody else looks at you like you're f***ed up.
And they'll tell you that too.
What's f***ing wrong with you?
Why can't you just relax?
Why can't you just do this?
Why can't...
Because I'm just not built that way, man.
And as I've gotten a little bit older,
I've gotten better at accepting it.
And just sort of embracing the fact that
this provides a lot of good,
but there's a lot of things that make...
that you have to deal with that come that aren't so good.
You have to be crazy enough to think that it's possible.
That's how you f***ing do something worthwhile.
That's how you beat the f***ing odds.
You have to believe it's possible.
And when you believe something is possible,
everything else will figure itself out.
What are you gonna do?
How bad do you want it?
There's two options.
To continue forward.
Pushing upward.
And if you do, that dream is giving birth.
And forever you will live in the reality of it.
If you stop, quit, throw it out.
I promise you there's no distance you can travel far enough
to ever find that dream again.
But it's dead.
And it's dead.
It's replaced by recurrence.
And right now, it's your choice.
Once upon a time,
there was a young basketball player
who had dreams of becoming
one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
He worked day and night,
every day,
for years and years and years and years and years.
It's the what if I can pull off a miracle.
What if I can become someone that no one thinks I can be.
And just me talking about that,
I have the hair going up on my arms.
Because it makes me just like, what if?
One thing important is that we all have these moments,
these moments in time,
that either make you or break you,
that can determine the rest of your life.
When you make mistakes, they add up.
They add up.
One mistake compounds and leads to another,
which leads to another,
and they can lead you to a downward spiral of destruction.
Here's the thing.
You know what else adds up?
The possible things.
The good moves.
The small sacrifices that you make to do things right.
