once again uh afternoon evening thanks for taking a bit of time out from having a lot of fun out there eating all that healthy food to listen to little music it's nice to see you um got some very fine musicians here on the stage with me this afternoon i can introduce them to you now to my left on wins and keys andy suzuki [Applause] [Music] a bass guitar from paris france kevin rebevan also from paris the city of lights on the drums francis arnold the ladies hailing out of nashville tennessee miss julie peters miss marcia ramirez miss destiny curry this gentleman is originally from the beautiful island of mauritius now also living in first france on piano australia need [Music] laughs so [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] this is [Music] leave [Music] is [Music] [Laughter] just [Music] puts me away [Music] yes [Music] is [Music] is [Music] the wind is [Music] believe [Music] takes me [Music] will be free [Music] thank you very much this is actually uh the 40th anniversary of my career beginning of my first album so we've been on this 40th anniversary tour we usually have a big big backdrop thing but uh didn't use that today but anyway 40th anniversary not just at my first album but uh really my whole career and so i shared just a little bit with you about how i got started my father was a pediatrician in the army but he told me the best times of his life for when he played music played bass in college and those are the best times of his life and when he would get out his bass and play along with glenn miller records he just kind of lit up a room and so i made a connection between the mythical power of music and its ability to bring my dad kind of you know into the light so i went down to the place that in my day we called the record shop [Music] and i asked the young fellow that i said hey i was about 12 but i should have quantified this i was about 12 at the time and i said my dad listens to pete fountain and uh glenn miller and this kind of stuff have you got anything like that for younger people you know and he said hang on a second so he goes in the back and he brings out this album and he handed it to me he said this is but like the music your dad listens to but for the younger set and it was dave brubeck time out [Music] no no no no no no [Music] [Applause] [Music] anyway so i took the record home and i was just really mesmerized by the music the sound of music particularly the drummer joe morello i asked my parents for a drum set started playing some little school bands around town but it went too long before i heard the beatles and i realized i needed to get a guitar learning to maybe write my own songs also i realized that i was the drummer and i was in the back and uh all the girls were in the front i needed to be in the front okay so i i uh figured out that if i was ever going to get anywhere in music or otherwise i would need to be near the front so uh anyways the rest of this is history so this next tune here i had the pleasure of riding with one of my big heroes as he is for so many songwriters throughout his illustrious career which is still going strong mr burt bacharach i'm britain i read with carol bear saber the late great peter allen and uh it was really lovely to be involved in that project getting to know w moore i miss him very much he was a fine comedic actor and classical pianist so i miss him so i earlier stream one of my favorite epcot memories ever was when i first heard salem it was like my second year living here it was kind of when i really realized that you know it was the dream come true to live here and you could come to an amazing concert like that relive a great memory and still be at epcot and then go ride rides it was such a cool thing so it's one of the times that really hit me that i was actually a floridian so one of my favorite stories at epcot of all time and then also that arthur solo on saks believe it or not is one of the reasons that i play saxophone because as a kid i love that solo and yes i played it before but it's been a long long time so i'd have to practice but it's really really fun so anyway thanks guys let me everybody else say hi and bye what'd you guys they didn't they didn't let us go up there we're not special no how did you guys like it very good it was great i was telling everybody that that song is one of the reasons i play saxophone believe it or not arthur because the solo is so cool in that you know i was five when it came out so or less but anyway yeah so cool so guys we're um everybody say hi to our friends we're about to we're going to
