Ready? 3, 2, 1, I love you.
As you can probably tell, Emily and I decided to try canyoneering at Kawasan Falls just south of Cebu.
And honestly, it turned out to be one of the wildest days we had in the whole Philippines trip.
We started the adventure in this shuttle heading to get prepped and get our gear on.
And then we were on a motorcycle heading up the side of a cliff that took a zipline just a few minutes later.
Emily was squeezed in the middle kind of like a backpack while I was hanging off the back of the scooter.
As we were going up the mountain, you could tell the engine was definitely struggling with both of us on it somehow,
and we got passed by our two guides.
And before we knew it, we were strapped in and ready to go.
This zipline is massive, I'm not going to lie. I've never seen anything like it in my life.
My heart's pounding here in this clip, but in a good way.
And I think Emily's pretending to not be nervous right now and stay cool.
But I knew deep down we were both buzzing with adrenaline and probably definitely scared.
After a few seconds, they started counting us down and that's when the moment really started to hit.
And at this point we were about to launch.
I'm not sure what happened to Emily at this point, I kept looking back and I couldn't see her.
I think hers was going a lot slower maybe because I'm twice her size.
So after our guide zipped across behind us, we started making our way down this jungle trail.
You can start to see and hear the river in the distance and that's when it kind of hit us.
Like, oh yeah, this is where the real canyoneering starts.
There's doggy footprints in the cement.
Now we're approaching our first jump.
Okay, ready? 3, 2, 1, smile!
Okay, next man, jump forward.
Big shout out to our guides here for the insane camera skills.
If you've ever been to the Philippines, you know what I mean when I say
Filipinos have some of the best filming abilities that I've ever seen.
3, 2, 1.
Bend your legs.
Ready? 3, yeah.
3, 2, ready.
Cross your legs.
Ready, 1, 2, 3, go!
And 3, 2, 1, smile!
I'm sure you can already tell, but at this point, both of us are having a blast.
Now we were fully into it.
Just jumping off cliffs like it's no big deal.
It was definitely out of our comfort zone,
but weirdly that made everything a little better.
We would hesitate for a second and then boom, flying through the air.
Like, it's pretty addicting, I'm not going to lie.
Okawasan Falls adventure takes around 4 hours,
so having a moment like this where we were just being dragged by our guides,
pulled along through the water, was honestly perfect.
No jumping, no climbing, just got to lay back for a few minutes
and let the jungle do its thing.
It was nice to have a moment of calm before another moment of crazy adrenaline.
Now's probably a great time to throw this in.

We're climbing through these rocks now thinking, ok, this has been pretty awesome.
But spoiler alert, it was about to get a lot more intense.
But at this point, there's definitely no turning back.
Jump only, jump only.
After this last little jump, we were approaching the biggest cliff that we had jumped off of yet.
3, 2, 1, go.
Jump directly, don't stay longer.
We arrived at this little chill area with a bunch of people waiting to use the rope swing
and I knew I had to get in line and get my turn on that thing.
So for now, all the adrenaline was coming to an end.
Shoutout to my guide for this awesome b-roll footage of me walking down the trail.
They definitely were on point with all their filming, which is an amazing plus for the whole adventure.
We arrived at this amazing little pool, you could call it,
where they suggested we go for a swim and just relax for a bit, hang out,
while the groups kind of gather back up.
Ah, this way sweetie.
It's raining too.
We ended up just floating around in this crazy blue pool at the bottom of the falls,
kind of just soaking it all up before we had to head back.
After everything, the cliff jumps, the slides, the climbing,
it felt like a perfect way to wrap everything together, you know?
Oh, what an adventure.
While we were floating there, we noticed that the walls were covered in all these carvings
of people's names, dates, random messages from people from all over the world.
It was kind of cool thinking about how many people came through here
and had their own wild adventure just like us.
The walk back down the trail was quiet and peaceful.
I mean, everyone's legs are pretty tired and sore, even though their brains are still buzzing.
Everyone was a little sunburned and a little bruised for sure,
but from what I saw, everyone was definitely smiling.
It was one of those days that we'll be talking about for a while,
and it was one of these adventures that, when I got home from the Philippines,
I was sharing with everybody.
Alright, so at the end of it all, would I recommend canyoneering at Kawasan Falls?
Obviously, 100%.
It's a full-on adventure that takes about four hours,
so you're best to get there early and beat the crowds, and definitely beat the heat.
I'd say bring your own water shoes, because the Crocs they gave me weren't the best,
and bring a water bag for your stuff if you really want to have your phone and some cash on you.
And don't forget to enjoy every moment, even when you're totally out of your comfort zone.
Honestly, this is probably the coolest thing I got to do in the Philippines,
and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
After we got picked up, we finally made it back to the spot,
and they fed us, gave us an amazing lunch, and that was it.
