⛪️ Der Zürcher Münsterhof, der einzige wirkliche Platz in der Zürcher Altstadt, stammt aus der Zeit um 1300.
Der Platz diente seit dem Mittelalter immer wieder als Bühne wichtiger kultureller Anlässe und politischer Auftritte. So wurde im Spätmittelalter der König, wenn er mit seinem Gefolge Zürich besuchte, als erstes von der Äbtissin des Fraumünster-Klosters auf dem Münsterhof vor grossem Publikum begrüsst. Die Äbtissin war zugleich Reichsfürstin und bis zur Reformation die Stadtherrin Zürichs.

⛪️ Zurich's Münsterhof, the only real square in Zurich's old town, dates back to around 1300. Since the Middle Ages, the square has repeatedly served as a stage for important cultural events and political appearances. In the late Middle Ages, when the king visited Zurich with his entourage, he was first greeted by the abbess of the Fraumünster monastery in front of a large audience in the Münsterhof. The abbess was also an imperial princess and, until the Reformation, the ruler of Zurich.
