iPhone 17 Pro Max Cosmic Unboxing and Setup + New Apple Cases!

What's good everyone? It's Jossi LJ, but you could just call me Jossi. And we're back at it again with another iPhone unboxing. [Music] Like I said in the iPhone Air video, this is my favorite week of the year or arguably my favorite week of the year because we have the roll out of the iPhone 17, AirPods Pro 3 and the Apple Watch Series 11 SE and Apple Watch Ultra 3. Without further ado, we're going to be unboxing the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Cosmic Orange. Probably the most talked about phone, anticipated phone for 2025 outside of maybe the Samsung ZFold 7. Not only are we going to be unboxing this phone, but we're also going to be unboxing the fine woven wallet and the iPhone 17 Pro Max tech woven case. Apple did pull the fine woven accessories from their website for the iPhone 16 lineup and it's something we've only seen for the iPhone 15 lineup. So, I know a lot of people are really excited to see these accessories, these cases and wallets in hand along with what the texture feels like. But before we jump right in, I've noticed that over 80% of you all are not subscribed. We're so close to 200,000 subscribers, which is a massive milestone. So, we have the iPhone 17 Pro Max in cosmic orange with 1 terabte of storage. So, let's just jump into this unboxing for the redesigned iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max lineup. We are greeted with the 17 Pro Max in cosmic orange. And for some reason, and for some reason right now, it looks really orange, like candy corn orange. However, in more natural sunlight, I think it looks a bit more burnt orange. So, it's really interesting how orange it looks on camera compared to what I've noticed in person. And you can see we have a totally new camera bump. The camera bump actually spans the entirety of the device and Apple is actually calling this a camera plateau. So, we've got our three lenses, our ultra wide, somewhat wide, like standard lens, and then also we have the telephoto lens. But all first impressions, it's not that much heavier than the 16 Pro Max. And I know some of you all are probably confused as to why Apple went with an aluminum body. It's to help with the thermals, but not only that, this aluminum is technically a lighter than titanium, and you're only sacrificing about 5 g of weight compared to the 16 Pro Max, but you also get a bigger battery. Just want to show you guys the device at different angles. This color is fun. We've been asking for a more fun color from iPhone for a while now, specifically for the Pro and Pro Max lineup. But even if you're not the biggest fan of this two-tone kind of design we got going on or the camera plateau, we have the braided USBC cable. Nothing special here, just the standard packaging for the iPhone 17 Pro Max lineup. And last but not least, we've got some instructions in here. And as expected, we don't have any Apple stickers. And I'm not even that big of a stickers person, so I'm not even mad at it. Before we jump into unboxing the accessories, I just want to show you a sidebyside comparison of the iPhone 17 Pro Max and 16 Pro Max. And not only that, this is my first impression holding both devices next to each other. So yeah, I'll just explain some differences. Like in the 16 Pro Max, I can't really feel the Apple logo, but in the 17 Pro Max, I can feel the logo pretty profoundly. It feels Apple logo on the 17 Pro Max feels very silky compared to the rest of the backside. Even though the 16 Pro Max is 5 grams lighter, it almost feels like the weight for the 16 Pro Max is more evenly distributed than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Pro Max feels like the top of the device, the top half is a bit heavier. All in all, the design isn't that different. I know we're going to have to get used to this new camera bar, camera system, camera plateau that spans the entirety of the device, but they look pretty similar. All right. So, before we power on the 17 Pro Max and start setting it up, let's unbox the iPhone fine woven wallet. But it's definitely on brand with the cosmic orange. And wow, this Mag Safe wallet feels so good in hand. It gives me a canvas, water repellent type of feel. It's extremely light, but it feels durable and premium enhanced. So, I'm excited that this fine woven wallet does not disappoint and is on brand with having a premium device or some people really calling the iPhone 17 Pro Max more of an ultra device. This whole setup, I know it's just a placeholder card. Reminds me of having an Apple card like I did back in the day when I was daily driving a Mag Safe wallet. And here, of course, we just have some instructions. Nice. Give it a little shake test. Yeah, it's locked in there pretty well. I mean, not too worried about it falling off. I think a more realistic way this would fall off my phone as if something like bumps it from like the side, you know, like brushes up against it. But this feels good. I mean, it's so satisfying. And next, we have the iPhone 17 Pro Max Tech woven case. Now, based off of this material for the fine woven wallet, I'm pretty excited and anticipating a similar premium feel and texture for the iPhone 17 Pro Max tech woven case. Right. Wow. Okay. Also very satisfying, very premium, more of like a denim type of feel. If I'm being honest, this feels more like texture here. Feels more like denim. It's softer than it looks. the front of the box, the front cover almost makes this look like it's a more rugged case, which I'm sure it's very rugged and durable. However, in hand, it's it's not soft, but it's not quite as tough as I thought it would feel. And the more I massage this case, the more soft and comfortable it feels in hand. But this is just a first impression. So, we'll see over time how this case holds up. And not sure if I would actually go with this colorway. Got like a burnt orange with a brighter orange kind of situation going on. However, I can see some contrast. I can see what Apple is thinking with having the more subtle orange MagSafe wallet. And if you attach it to this Mag Safe case, not bad. I'm not mad at the color coordination. I mean, if you like orange, pumpkin spice lattes, fall, this is the phone setup combination for you.
