ADV Bikes on a Jeep Trail, Accidental Horseradish, and Crescent Lake: Oregon BDR Route 6, Day 3

The third and final day of our Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route 6 trip was easily the most momentous and amazing of my entire adventure motorcycle riding career so far. After a fun motorcycle camping morning in camp at Crescent Lake, we geared up and headed out to complete our somewhat unorthodox run on Oregon BDR route 6. This time, we started from the Crescent Lake end of OBDR route 6 and were promptly rewarded with the most difficult adventure bike off road riding of the entire trip. The first ten miles were a treacherous, technical, muddy jeep trail that led all the way to Summit Lake. After pushing my adventure bike offroad motorcycle riding skills to their absolute limit through a muddy 30 foot descent into a mud hole with an off camber muddy climb on the back side, we finally broke through to the well-maintained gravel roads we had been enjoying for the rest of our time on the Oregon BDR. The views were amazing and we even stopped at a beautiful waterfall along the way before reaching the point where we'd ducked out after rerouting around the Rough Patch fire the previous day and completed our run of OBCDR Route 6. After returning to camp, we enjoyed a few beverages, had dinner at a tavern in town, and just hung out and rested up after our long three days of adventure motorcycle travel before loading up the following morning and heading home and back to reality.
