Time Delhi High Court protecting the personality rights of actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
That's the latest update that we are getting for you.
Delhi High Court has ruled in fact in favor of actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
There was a hearing in the Delhi High Court today wherein the High Court stated that unauthorized
use of her name stands in violation of actor's right to privacy and dignity.
Let's go across to my colleague Deepankar who's joining us live right now for more on
this.
Deepankar, relief there coming in for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Well, yes, there's a big relief that has come for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan where the court
has protected her personality rights and while doing so the court has very clearly stated
and I quote that when the identity of a famous personality is used without their consent
or authorization, it may not only lead to commercial detriment to the concerned individual
but also impact their right to live with dignity.
So this was the observation that the court made while protecting the personality rights
of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and directing the defendants who were in the case directing
the respondents not to use her personality or her publicity rights and they have restrained
them from using her acronym, her name, her images or any kind of mocked images using
AI or deepfake in any medium or any format.
That is, her name or her images are not to be used for any dissemination of any content
or any product that it was being used on and all the URLs which have been identified are
to be taken down within 72 hours of the receipt of notice.
Thank you very much Deepankar for the moment for joining us with your inputs.
With this, we will slip into another short break.
We'll be back with more.
Stay with us.
