Scutellaria lateriflora (Mad dog Skullcap) is the most commonly use skullcap.
Scutellaria galericulata (Marsh Skullcap) can be interchangeably used with similar benefits.
Scutellaria baicalensis (Chinese Baikal Skullcap) is used as a root medicine and has different health properties from the American Skullcaps.
