Join me on a full tour of New Fantasyland in 4K UHD with narration. This video was shot on a beautiful day with clear blue skies that really make the amazing colors in this area stand out. I did a narration for the video, and I hope it is relaxing for you. This video took me over 24 hours to shoot and edit, and I really hope you enjoy it because I really enjoyed making it! :-)
Hi, this is Josh with ResortTV1. Today we're taking a look at new fantasy in the Magic Kingdom.
We hope you enjoy the video. And as you come through the gates here that signify the exit to
the Cinderella Castle Courtyard area, which includes the carousel, you'll see that these
gates are made up of the same type of stonework that make up Cinderella Castle, which is nice
and unified theme. So the idea is that you're in kind of a castle courtyard where the carousel is
and Mickey's Baja Magic, as well as the place to meet the princesses in that area. And then
once you leave the castle gates, you're off into the rest of fantasy land. So on the right,
we have the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. And on the left, we have Enchanted Tales with Belle,
as well as the Beast's Castle. I love all the details you can see here from the Seven Dwarfs
Mine Train to some of the luggage on the track there or next to the track, to the track itself,
as well as the waterfall off in the distance. And a lot of the details are smaller than what
they would normally be to make them look like they're further away. That's called forced
perspective and Disney's really good at that. Now we'll look at Enchanted Tales with Belle.
The sign is really neat. As you can remember, Belle's father Maurice was somewhat of an
inventor. And so you'll see a lot of gizmos and gadgets around the area. So this is their
French country home that you go check out and see a story time with Belle.
That's a great experience. You should check it out if you haven't already.
The detail in this area is really neat. It makes it look like you really are back in the woods,
and you've got the dry creek bed with the bridge over it, as well as a lot of wild plant life to
make it look like you're really back in the wilderness or in a country estate. You can see
the standby and fast pass entrances to the area. And here's a little closer shot of the front of
the house. And again, the yard somewhat overgrown on purpose. Another shot of another section of
the dry creek bed. It's just really well themed and amazing. Just a few steps out of busy fantasy
land, you get back here, and it looks like you're back in the wilderness. Very well done.
And then walking to the right from the Enchanted Tales with Belle house, you'll see the Beast
Castle. And that's another use of fourth perspective, where the castle actually is not
very tall, but it looks like it's further away than what it is. I have to say, I think they could
have done just a little bit better job with this particular castle and put a little bit more detail
into it. But I understand why they did what they did. The Beast Castle is supposed to be on a
mountain, and the mountain serves actually as a facade for the actual Beauty and the Beast restaurant
itself, or be our guest restaurant. And you can see the area is very well landscaped, very beautiful
with the waterfall, as well as the bridge over the moat. And they keep the water in the moat very
clear, like you'd expect a mountain stream to be, as well as the plant life around the bridge and
around the castle that makes it look like you're in the mountains, as opposed to Belle's Cottage,
which is right next door. And it's amazing how quickly Disney changed the theme of the area.
And then again, on the other side of the main walkway, you'll see the Seven Dwarfs Mine train,
complete with waterfalls that actually lead into that same waterway that we just looked at, and it
goes under the main pedestrian walkway as well. And journeying just a bit further into New Fantasyland,
we'll come to kind of a town square, based on the original Beauty and the Beast movie. And you can
see Gaston's Tavern, as well as the statue of Gaston, and a country shop, and then there's a
restroom area. We'll look at all those throughout the video here. So you can see Gaston with his
kegs of beer, as well as LeFou. I believe I'm pronouncing that correctly, or pretty close.
And you can see the sign there, an extravagantly generous gift from Gaston.
These are the details that if you don't stop and look, you miss them, but they're really
neat. The way that they put that sign there, as well as the expressions on the statue's faces
there. And we won't check out the inside of the tavern in this video. We'll do that in another
video, but it is very well themed, and you should definitely check it out if you haven't already.
This is the side of Gaston's Tavern. It's quite a large building. There's even a round room
right here, almost like a tower type of a thing, or a turret, but it's got one table in there,
and it's a very neat place to eat if you decide to do that.
Another look at that turret, and down into the restroom area.
These are very well themed restrooms as well. Disney's been really stepping up their game in
restroom theme. And we even have some water fountains. Coming out of the restroom area,
you'll see the shop, which is the main shop in New Fantasy Land, at least in the Beauty and the
Beast and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train area, and those people are actually waiting to see Gaston, who
greets guests approximately in the area of that umbrella. And you can see the name of the shop is
Bonjour Village Gifts, which fits since this is supposed to be a French provincial town.
And there are lots of different types of merchandise in there, most of them based on
Beauty and the Beast, since that's the area we're in, and a lot of things you can't get everywhere
else in the resort, so that's nice that they do have some exclusive merchandise. And here you can
see a popcorn stand, actually a snack stand. You can get popcorn and snacks, but it's Maurice's
popping machine. Like I said before, Maurice being Belle's father was somewhat of an inventor or a
tinkerer, and you can see all the different machinery and gizmos and gadgets around the
particular snack stand, so it's very well themed. And moving on from that snack stand and over from
the Beauty and the Beast area, you can still see the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which is a very large
ride. And then you can also see, of course, the Little Mermaid ride and Eric's Castle.
And this is very well themed in this area. This ride exists at Disneyland Resort in California
as well, but the queue is not nearly as well themed. The rides are basically identical, but
this queue is much better themed with Eric's Castle as well as all the waterfalls and just
all the different theming that makes this look like you're on the seaside right out of the movie.
And here you can see the standby wait time, 25 minutes. That's actually pretty low for
an afternoon. You can see the detail on the castle here is very nice. It's actually more
detailed than the Beast Castle just next door. So if you do ride this ride, and I'm sure most
of you have or will, you need to take the time to really enjoy the theming in the area because it's
really something that Disney goes the extra mile on that a lot of
theme parks in different areas do not quite do as well as Disney does in my opinion.
You can even see the ship with Ariel herself on. The bow of the ship. I believe bow is the
correct term for that. And we were lucky to have such a great sunny day to be filming here today
because you can really see the colors again popping out on such a sunny day. There you can
see people exiting the ride. This is where they exit from. These two little openings in the
rock or in the cave. And a nice waterfall. They really do a good job with having a lot of water
both in the queue area and in the area around the building itself to indicate that you are in the
Little Mermaid area which makes a lot of sense. And this is Ariel's Grotto, which Ariel's Grotto
actually existed in a different form in the older version of Fantasyland. It was directly
behind the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea area and right next to Pinocchio. So they've kind
of moved it over here and put it inside but there used to be an outdoor kind of an eating area to
meet Ariel. This is basically an Ariel meet and greet. I haven't actually done it myself so if
there's more to it than that leave a comment because I don't exactly know other than just
meet and greet what they do there but I'm sure it's great especially if your kids are fans of
Ariel. And this is another look at the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, the back of the ride itself.
And by the way this is one of the only rides in a Disney park you can walk all the way around,
at least a major e-ticket ride. Of course you can walk all the way around the Magic Carpet and some
of the smaller rides but most of the larger e-ticket rides you can't walk completely 360
degrees around and in this ride you can. And so they've themed the back side of it. They've added
this wooden statue of Triton as well as wood carving workshop and things like that that we'll
look at. So here's Seafarer's wood carving sign. So instead of leaving the back of the mountain just
bare, Disney really put a lot of effort into theming its back side putting a little snack
stand over there as well as this wood carving area and I think they did a great job with it.
I love the details in this particular Triton statue. I'm not sure if it actually is wood,
I doubt it, but they made it look really like it is wood. You can see wood carving tools as well as
sketches that would have been used to build a type of a wood carving. A seahorse and different
sculptor's tools there and even a little game for kids to play here. Now this is a nice area to get
out of the sun. It's usually not very crowded. A lot of people just bypass this area so if you want
to get out of the sun I'd recommend coming in here maybe even to finish a snack that you just
purchased at the snack stand next door. And here's a nice map of the world that may have been correct
around the fairy tale time of the Little Mermaid. This is actually a Disney Vacation Club sales
center in here. You can see a beautiful painting of the town inspired by the Little Mermaid movie itself
and a painting of Eric's castle to show you just how accurate the castle just across the street is
to the movie. You can see again the beautiful blue sky and right across from the Little Mermaid as
well as Ariel's Grotto. And this is the outside of the building we were just in. It talks about
cartography which is map making. Most of you probably know that but back from the time of
sea explorers, people like Angella and that's the idea I think behind that area.
And now we'll leave the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train as well as the Little Mermaid area and we'll head
into the last section of New Fantasy Land called Storybook Circus. I always want to say Storybook
from the Once Upon a Time show but it's actually Storybook. And you can see all the posters
throughout this whole area there are posters advertising the circus theme of the area and
they're very authentic to what circus posters are supposed to look like. I really like all the fonts
and the graphics the amazing stupendous wonderful all the adjectives that they use in the circus
poster type of a theme. This is Big Top Souvenirs which is the main store which was there before
when it was Mickey's Toontown Fair. It was just another type of a circus tent so they just
rethemed it. It's a very large store there's even a small eating area and snack stand in there where
you can get bakery items and things like that. And here's Dumbo which Dumbo now has two actual
spinners so two actual rides where you can ride either one and it makes the wait time be a little
bit less. You can see Timothy on top of the sign Timothy the Mouse and they did a great job too
they put these Dumbo spinners over the top of fountains to make it look very beautiful and at
night there are lights that come up from the water and make it look even better. You can see Dumbo coming in for a landing.
And each spinner is exactly the same and you can see the tent in the middle and this is the place
when you're in the standby queue where there's actually places for the kids to play different
activities for them to do and you get a pager and the pager tells you when it's time to ride
so if the standby queue is 45 minutes you get a pager and then your kids can go in the tent and
there are different playground activities and games and fun things for them to do so that they don't
have to wait out in the hot sun because Dumbo used to have a long wait when it was just one spinner
right in the middle of Fantasyland there where it used to be. And now walking back from the Dumbo
and the Big Top Circus area you can see the Casey's Junior Circus splash pad which is what it's called
and it's basically just a water area and a fun area for kids to play and
get soaked. You can see all the kids having a good time in there with the Casey Junior Circus train.
And next to the splash pad is of course Goofy's Barnstormer
and the Barnstormer has been around for a while but they've rethemed it for
in a storybook circus theme and you can see there where the coaster actually comes through the sign
almost like Goofy flying through the sign in one of the older Goofy cartoons and around that you
can even see circus type coasters and advertisements with Great Goofy and all the great things that
Goofy can do and I believe there was cartoons about the Great Goofy and some of the older
Goofy cartoons were a lot of fun. Some of my favorites were when they had the voiceover
and it was kind of a sarcastic way explaining how to do things and Goofy would try and do them and
kind of mess up as he did and it was really to me that was really really funny and really fun to
watch. So the coaster itself actually will take adults as well as kids but it is a little bit of
a tight fit for adults and you can see the back side of the Casey Junior splash and soak area
you can see that the train cars are themed after various animals and things like that that would
have been on the Casey Junior Circus Railroad. You can see a little merchandise stand with some
merchandise and some towels that are still dry. You can see the kids are having a great time
there's the side of the Big Top Souvenir Shop and we'll look at some of the circus posters
on the way over to Pete's Sideshow which is another tent where you can meet some other
Disney characters. So let's take a look at some of the posters as we go around here.
Here's an advertisement for Strongman Pete, a lifter of all things heavy.
Pluto. You can see Clara and Horace which you don't see those characters too often they were
in a lot of the older Disney cartoons but they've since gone by the wayside so it's nice to see
them get a mention here. We've got advertisements for the world's most amazing gifts at the Big Top
Souvenir Shop. So everything following the circus theme. You can see you can meet Minnie Magnifique
as well as Madam Daisy the fortune teller and you can see Sideshow Pete with his tacky almost a
carnival barker outfit. That's the idea. So Pete being the mastermind behind all these Sideshow
activities and trying to make a ton of money in the process. I'm sure Pete always had the
get rich schemes in the cartoons. The calliope here is really neat.
It looks like it's an authentic calliope although the calliope music I think is coming from the
speakers and not the calliope itself. Here's another advertisement from the Great Guffini
and the Astounding Donaldo. So those are the characters you can see inside the Sideshow
and then next to that there's a Storybook Circus tent where you can see some of the props that
might have been used in the circus itself. And of course it's a nice place to sit and
either have a snack or just cool off. Barnum and Bailey Circus has a museum in Sarasota which is
too far about two and a half hours and my wife and I visited and learned a lot about
circuses so if you're really interested in circuses the Barnum and Bailey Museum is fantastic.
This is the side of the train station. You can see kind of a receiving dock area with some
fake luggage there that look like it's just been either unloaded or is getting ready to be loaded
on the train. And also on the side there you can see some of the circus props that would probably
have come off the railroad as well. And a poster and an advertisement for the circus because
remember most circuses that came through town in the time period the heyday of circuses would have
come through on the railroad because it was easier to put all the things that a circus needed on a
train as opposed to getting several trucks to haul them. And there's a restroom area here right next
to the train station. And this is the Fantasyland train station. Now it's way in the back of
Fantasyland so it's nowhere near Cinderella Castle or the Cinderella Carousel but there always has
been a train station back here. It was Mickey's Toontown Fair but they've changed it back to
Fantasyland since this is all part of Fantasyland now. And as we walk alongside the barnstormer here
we'll see that there's a pathway that goes all the way down to Tomorrowland. You can see Space
Mountain in the background there. A lot of people think this is just the queue for the barnstormer
but it actually goes all the way back to Tomorrowland. We'll also take a look at the beautiful
steam locomotive here on the Walt Disney Railway. And as everyone knows that Walt Disney was a huge
fan of trains and had one in his backyard for several years and insisted on the train being
a tour all the way around the park so that's why we have the wonderful steam trains both
at Disneyland and at Disney World as well as at some of the parks around the world.
And that I believe is just a maintenance shed possibly for the barnstormer painted
green so that it blends into the surroundings a little better. But this path is very relaxing and
it's not very busy most of the time. The only issue is it is a smoking area so you may have
to hold your breath for just a second when you walk through but it's still a very relaxing walk.
And there you can see the Speedway as it goes through this area as well.
And another look at the train track as it heads back towards Tomorrowland and aspires to Space
Mountain. And there's the people mover that the train track crosses over as well. Well that's it
for our new Fantasyland tour everyone. We hope you enjoyed the video. Please be sure to leave us a
comment. Have a great big beautiful tomorrow. Buh-bye!
