In this video, I take you on a tour of Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida that will take us to past some of the best Hidden Gems in the park that many people often overlook. Leave a comment and let us know if there are any that we missed! We'll do another video with Islands of Adventure soon. Enjoy!
Hi, this is Josh with ResortTV1.
Today we're going to show you some hidden gems at the Universal Studios Park in Orlando,
Florida.
We hope you enjoy the video.
And the first hidden gem I want to show is actually an entire street.
When you go to the right after entering the park, you'll find this street that's themed
after Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
And Cirro's was a club that a lot of famous musicians played at that was in Hollywood.
It's not there anymore, but the architecture is really cool.
I love the style.
And it's actually not a restaurant at Universal Studios, it's just a place to walk through
to get to guest services, but still really neat.
And here's the Beverly Hills sign and some buildings themed after that area.
There's even a Hollywood Walk of Fame right next to the sign that goes up and down the
street a little ways.
And the Brown Derby hat shop here is of course a tribute to the Brown Derby restaurant in
Hollywood.
And they even have an old-fashioned pharmacy, which is really cool.
You can get ice cream here.
And out on this same street, they have Dr. Emmett Brown from Back to the Future taking
pictures with people next to the DeLorean.
And this DeLorean is basically an exact replica of the one in the movies.
It's really cool.
It's hard to see the interior on the video here, but the interior is even exactly like
the one in the movie.
Pretty amazing.
And across from that is the facade of a camera store, which isn't open, but it's still a
pretty cool facade.
And here's Mel's Drive-In from American Graffiti.
And I love the old-time cars there, and it's a great restaurant, but it's something people
overlook if you're not really paying attention.
And Cafe La Bamba is just a beautiful place themed after a restaurant in Hollywood.
But right now it's part of the VIP experience at Universal Studios.
And next to that are the Garden of Alla Villas, which are very well-themed and just beautiful
to look at.
And it's not really anything you can walk around in very much, it's just great theming.
And the theming is carried way over to the side here, where they've got all these apartment-like
things that really look like they might be villas in a neighborhood somewhere in the
Hollywood or Beverly Hills area.
And this is something you can easily walk by if you're not paying attention.
Here's a sign for the villas themselves.
And the main building of these villas is actually an NBC media center where they do testing
of pilot episodes for shows.
I actually got asked to go in there once, but didn't have time.
Overall, though, this is just such a beautiful space.
Even the gardens in front of the building are amazing.
And here's the other side of the building here.
And again, this is something that you could easily walk by and not notice, so take the
time to notice it next time you're here.
And right across the street from the Garden of Alla Villas is a park, basically themed
after Central Park in New York City.
And this is a really cool place that, again, a lot of people walk by and don't really notice.
But it's a great place to stop and get out of the crowds.
Such a relaxing area, and they play relaxing music, different movie themes that are very
familiar.
And it's right along the water side here, which makes it even more peaceful.
And you can see it's not crowded at all, and there are several pathways and grassy areas
that you can sit in and just relax for a few minutes.
It's amazing that something like this exists in such a busy theme park.
You can see the park is just right there, but this area is really not busy at all.
And this area is really beautiful at night as well.
And right next to the park is the waterfront area.
Of course, this is really busy at night during the show that's put on here every night in
the lagoon.
But during the day, it's very peaceful and a great place to take a walk and just enjoy
a beautiful day here at Universal Studios.
And here's a nice wrought iron gate at the other end of the park.
And right next to this, you've got the train from Back to the Future 3.
It's called the Jules Verne train.
So here's a little information about it.
But as many of you know, Back to the Future used to be a ride here before the Simpsons
took over.
But they did keep the train here and the DeLorean next to it.
So that's something really cool to check out if you're a fan of Back to the Future like
I am.
So here's the DeLorean, complete with Mr. Fusion in the back and all the things that
make it fly.
So such an authentic replica of the car itself.
It's great.
And now we're going to look at a lot of these city buildings that are in the area close
to the Mummy Ride.
They're basically themed after New York City or several other cities they could be.
And I'm going to apologize that the audio is turned down here because there was a show
going on and it made the music really, really loud.
So I wanted you to be able to hear what I was talking about these different buildings.
But the theming is really elaborate here.
If you don't stop and take a look at it, you really won't appreciate it.
But Finnegan's Bar and Grill takes up a lot of space in that particular block.
And it's a really great place to eat.
But again, just stop and look in some of the windows of these buildings and just see the
theming and the detail that Universal did when they made this.
It's really awesome.
One of my favorite parts though of this city area is this dark alley section.
Of course it's not dark during the day, but it's like a back alley and it almost looks
like a place where you could maybe get mugged or something like that if you were in a real
city.
But of course it's way cleaner than a real city, but it's still a really awesome place
to visit.
And the theming here is so elaborate.
So let's take a look around.
So here's like a loading dock area that would be behind a business maybe in some city somewhere.
And they even have an old poster for a circus.
And just all the fire escapes and different signs.
It's just really neat.
I love in the theme parks like this where there are these back pathways that not everybody
goes to or not everybody knows about.
And I really work hard to try and find these types of paths similar to the path that goes
between Tomorrowland and Storybook Circus in The Magic Kingdom.
This is one of those places that just not very many people venture back to, but it's
really worth it.
Here's an old boxing poster.
And the archways and the brickwork are really beautiful as well.
The Ringling Brothers and Bonham and Bailey Circus poster is neat.
Even bars on the windows like you might expect to find in a place like this.
And by the way, this isn't just one alley.
There's kind of a network of alleys here.
There's about three different pathways through this section of the park.
So take the time to check it out for sure.
There's an old barber shop there.
Not actually functional, but still they've themed the whole inside of it.
So it's not just the signs outside.
They've themed enough that you can see in the windows.
So that's pretty good attention to detail in my opinion.
And here's an old music store.
And again, lots of instruments in the windows and a display like you might find in a regular
music store in a city.
And now we're outside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley.
And this is number 12 Grimmauld Place where Sirius Black lived and where they had their
headquarters.
And of course, a creature peers out the second story window there.
And that's something that you might not notice if you don't stop and take a look.
So there's another hidden gem.
And when you enter Diagon Alley, right when you go through the place where the bricks
turn, there's this statue that's faced backwards.
So I thought that was kind of neat as well.
And of course, I can't go into Diagon Alley without showing you an overview of it.
Even though it's not a hidden gem, it's still just a beautifully themed area.
But in Diagon Alley, there's these little back stairways and things that look like they
might belong in a real city.
And so I like the theming here as well.
Another area that's overlooked sometimes in Diagon Alley is Nocturne Alley.
And all the theming inside of it is just really cool and really elaborate.
And you really have to stop and take your time and look around.
And here's another one of these back stairways.
I know it's really dark, but if you're here, you can see a lot of great theming back there
that a lot of people might not notice.
And there's a window that actually leads into and looks into the Leaky Cauldron, which is
right next door.
So that's some neat theming as well.
And of course, this is the area right in front of Borgin and Burkes, which has some great
theming as well.
Well that's all we have for today's hidden gems video at Universal Studios.
Of course, that's not all the hidden gems at Universal, just a few of my favorites.
Have a great big beautiful tomorrow.
