I don't know where you're going, and I don't know why, but listen to your heart, before you tell him goodbye.
Hi, I'm Brad.
I'm John.
So.
I always start off with so.
Yep.
No, no, no.
Anyway.
So, so, so.
So.
Anyway.
And what was I saying?
Exactly.
Anyway.
What was I gonna say?
Demacinopathy has dropped another acoustic cover.
Although this one has a keyboard in it, so is it really a key, is it, is it really acoustic if it's guitar and keyboard?
I guess I don't know what you can say about acoustic covers.
I'd have to actually look up the definition of what acoustic is, technically, anyway.
Because I'm no musician, musician, music expert, whatever.
So, brain sidetracked there.
So, Dimas, obviously from Indonesia.
Don't always remember to mention that part.
Well, some people are already disputing that.
Good.
Same as from the Philippines.
He says he's from Indonesia.
Anyway.
I'm gonna go by what he says.
Yeah.
I may be wrong.
If you feel this is inaccurate, please leave a comment down below.
I don't know.
I'm just going by what his thing says.
Yeah.
He's done a cover of a song from a great Swedish rock duo.
A lot of people are gonna go,
Huh?
Tommy Johansson?
No.
Joe?
Roxette Johansson.
Yeah, Roxette.
That amazing American band that people don't probably actually realize is Swedish.
I say that because there's a lot of bands out there from various parts of the world.
A lot of them also come from England.
But Sweden is another favorite.
It's kind of like,
Oh, they're not from America?
Tends to be a genuinely usual comment.
So, the song is Listen to Your Heart.
It was originally released in Sweden in September of 1988.
It was their second single from their second studio album.
If you can get that many seconds in.
Which was Look Sharp.
Which was released earlier in 1988.
The song went on to become one of the most successful singles of 1989.
Because it dropped at the end.
So it was actually,
The next year by the time it was really popular everywhere.
And it reached number one in both America and Canada.
Believe it or not, by November of 1989.
So, basically a year after it was released was when it actually topped the charts.
Topped the charts in America and Canada.
You just never know.
It also was the first song to reach number one in America.
Without being commercially released in a seven inch single format.
That's pretty impressive I guess.
It's a completely useless piece of trivia that one.
Was it in a movie or something then?
I think it has been used in movies.
But I think it was after the fact.
I mean, back then, especially in the 80s.
You just had such huge soundtracks in movies and stuff like that.
I don't go to the movies anymore.
I don't even know if they do that kind of stuff anymore.
I think it has been used in movies.
I mean, I assume it has now.
In the 90s and stuff like that.
I mean, prior.
If that's why it went to number one.
I think it was more a case of a slight slow burn.
And it was probably released later in America than it was.
Because it was released in September of 88 in Sweden.
That was where it was released first.
So it could easily have been released.
It could even have been into 89 when it was released here in America.
Well, let's check it out.

Okay.
Other important stuff.
Yes.
Yeah.
That does mean this would be a very hard one to get.
For jukebox.
Yeah.
Not impossible.
Just hard.
You got the fan going again.
You little piece of heaven.
Listen to your heart.
When he's calling for you.
Listen to your heart.
There's nothing else you can do.
I don't know where you're going.
And I don't know.
Listen to your heart.
Before.
You tell him goodbye.
Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile.
YouTube.
Always.
Yeah.
We've.
Said it in just about every single video.
He's really good at picking songs that.
Will work nicely with his style.
Right.
Which it is a talent to be able to do that.
Because there are.
Quite a number of people.
Who.
Cover songs.
And it's just.
A case of.
Well, it was okay, but.
Yeah.
That just.
You know.
It's like.
You performed it.
Well.
But.
It's not the right song for him.
Yeah.
Just.
No.
Yeah.
You see it a lot.
A lot.
On.
The TV shows.
Like.
The boys.
Yeah.
American Idol.
Well.
All of the idols.
Got talents.
And stuff like that.
You'll see it a lot on that.
Where it's kind of like.
You're watching the show.
And it's kind of like.
Yay.
We love.
We love this.
Guy's performance.
Oh.
Why did he choose that song?
No.
Yeah.
He's good at doing it.
Yeah.
He.
Demus is.
At least.
So far.
Has been really good.
About.
All of the songs.
That he's covered.
And.
Arranged.
And everything.
It's kind of like.
Yeah.
That.
That works.
Very well.
The way you're doing it.
Right.
You haven't picked something.
That's kind of like.
You know.
I don't know.
Let's say there had.
Probably been one or two.
That's kind of like.
It did him good.
I can't.
I can think of one.
I just don't want to.
Say it.
I'm trying to do that.
It was good.
It just.
Didn't sing it well.
Didn't suit him.
Anyway.
Sometimes you wonder.
If.
Despite.
Worldwide.
The phrases.
Moments.
Are.
Lost.
In the.
Time.
Yeah.
Swept away.
And nothing.
Is what.
He's seen.
Feeling of.
Belonging.
To your.
Dreams.
Listen.
To your heart.
When.
He's calling.
For you.
Listen.
To your heart.
There's.
Nothing.
Else.
You can.
I don't.
Know where.
You're going.
And.
I don't.
Know why.
Listen.
To your heart.
Before.
You.
Tell him.
Goodbye.
Voices.
They.
Come.
To me.
How.
We don't.
Tend to mention.
The fact.
He does.
Have a very good.
Group.
Friends.
She would say.
Around.
him. Friends or relatives? Friends, relatives, or just band members. Which don't necessarily
have to be friends or relatives. Which is the way some bands work. Oh, yeah. It's better
if they are. Yeah. With band members, there's a reason I stand on this side of the stage
But yeah, he's got a very good group of musicians around him, right? That, you know,
swap in and out to one song. But yeah, he's got a good group of people who can actually
play the music for him to sing along to, right? And I think that's something people
tend to mention enough. The fact that, yeah. Oh yeah, I don't know. Yeah, his singing is good,
but yeah, he has these really good musicians as well. Right. That his performance wouldn't be
half as good if he didn't have somebody who could actually play.
I don't know where you're going And I don't know why
But listen to your heart, people Oh, listen to your heart
Listen to who's calling for you Listen to your heart
There's still things you can do I don't know where you're going
And I don't know why But listen to your heart, people
You tell him goodbye
He's another one where it seems like his songs end so quickly. It seems like they're just getting
going. It's like, oh, that's it? Yeah, that's, well, it kind of depends a bit on the era of
the songs as well. Because obviously, right, you know, this one, like I said, you're kind of like,
you're right at the end of the seven inch era. So your radio songs are going to suddenly start
becoming longer as kind of a default type thing. Although recently, I've noticed that
songs have actually started drifting shorter again, to the point where it's kind of like
245 to three minutes has become kind of like the standard. Actually, I don't want to say two and a
half minutes to three has become the sort of standard length of a single again, rather randomly.
Because I remember one period of time I was growing up when yeah, it's kind of like four
minutes, some five. There's a few out there. Or maybe just there again, it's good. So it just
seems like it's short. Yeah. In this case, yes, I think it's good. So it seems like it's short.
Because it's, I think it's someone's actually a bit over three minutes, but still,
yeah, you're, you're, like I said, you're getting kind of like the seven inch.
Well, you're just, yeah, well, you're, you're enjoying it. And it's just like,
oh, it's over already. Well, yeah, like I said, we enjoyed it. Once again, he did another great
performance, another great song choice. And we're definitely going to continue getting them up. So
