The AMAZING History of Art Deco Chicago Architecture - Downtown Chicago Loop Architecture Tour

In this video we take a walking tour of downtown Chicago to see amazing Art Deco Chicago Architecture. The skyscrapers we will see were built in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Art Deco was a style born in France in the early 20th century. The 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris showcased the French modern style of architecture, jewelry, and more. After the fair, this style became known as "Art Deco"

Art Deco architecture would arrive in New York in 1924 and in Chicago in 1928 after leaving Paris France.

Some of the characteristics of Art Deco include vertical lines, building setbacks, bright colors, geometric shapes, and intricate decorative reliefs.
