We're putting them in the mixing pot, we're mixing them all together, and then, boom, out comes... this.
🎵
Hi, finally made it out here today.
I had so much stuff to do, and I just wasn't sure if I was going to be able to, but I knew I needed to prioritize getting out here.
So, I made it.
I was at a place that I was longer than I thought I would be.
I just wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get everything done that I needed to get done today.
So, being out here is nice because now I know I at least got that done.
I found this really great spot.
There's this little park in my town called Dorsey's Knob, and there's nobody out here today.
And it's really nice, and I can...
It's just so windy outside today.
So, I think today I really want to work on stationary stuff.
I really want to work on the backwards crossover sexy walk skating.
I'm definitely going to do that today.
And standard backwards skating as always because I just struggle with that.
I still need to work on that.
Also, spinning in place.
I really want to do spinning in place.
So, I guess I'll keep it as three goals today because I still have a lot of stuff to get done.
Let's do this.
I'm really cold.
I think I'm going to have to wear my jacket.
It's definitely one of my long-term goals to move to some place where I never have to wear a jacket, preferably a beach town.
I think I got that.
Not sure how her skate moves so smoothly.
Probably because she's on polished cement.
Take the back foot, make it do a half circle to the right foot.
Okay, so she's closing to a V. I'll try closing to a V.
I've really got to find some polished cement to practice on because I think my little wheels are getting really grabbed by the cement.
That looks like what I was doing.
Okay, keep the core tight.
Keep the upper back tight.
Arms start out just like in gymnastics.
Okay, she does the circles again.
Man, she makes that look so cool.
I look so silly even just doing that.
Okay, so we have to do this at the same time.
Both legs?
I don't know.
Scissor plus a half turn.
Mix it all together.
Out comes this amazing turn.
Combining them all.
We're putting them in the mixing pot.
We're mixing them all together.
And then, boom.
Out comes this.
Out comes a jumbled mess.
Let me watch some more.
It wasn't like it was that far off.
I mean, I was really far off.
I was like 1% of the way there.
But, you know, I might have had the right idea.
I don't know.
She's doing squat.
Squat down and up.
I don't think that's what it's supposed to look like.
My legs are sprawling out slowly as I'm doing this.
We're going to do half circles with the arms open.
And then we're going to do...
Then we're definitely totally just going to do full circles.
Because I'm just going to pull my arms in.
Double full.
I say that, but really, I only competed one and a half.
I think there's definitely an element of unforgivingness of the surface that I'm on.
But also, I'm not pretending.
I clearly don't know what I'm doing.
Spear fingers.
Love it.
She is just killing it.
She's so cool.
I can't get over it.
She does it all as one move.
I'm going to try and stay tight this time.
Like, I really didn't focus on it.
We're going to stay tight.
We're going to do the down-up.
We're going to do the...
We're going to start off with pieces.
And then we're going to do the down-up together.
Down-up together.
Make it flowy.
Picture her in my head.
That was like, just a little sliver.
Maybe I had it for a second.
Maybe.
Okay, let's keep watching.
Let's see where this takes me.
You want the skates to come closer together and not farther apart.
Mine are just going farther apart.
The last tips were drink water and stretch.
I didn't bring water.
And, uh...
We can stretch.
I lost skating.
I think I'm cheating a little bit.
She said don't do the heel-toe thing, and I think I'm going a little bit heel-toe.
It's coming along.
I'm getting closer.
But seriously, I totally appreciate these tutorials.
That Nicole Fiore.
You rock.
Thanks.
There's something about all the wind out here and the breeze and me spinning
that makes me feel like I'm sort of like a tornado.
I'm a tornado creating all the wind with all my momentum.
My toe stops keep getting caught.
I'm actually pretty sure that a lot of people who do this don't use the toe stops.
But I kind of don't want to take them off and put them back on
because all the other stuff I do uses them.
What do you think? I think that's getting better.
I wasn't ready.
Yeah.
Never ready.
Oh, please.
Hey, the player in the game.
Boy, to me, they're all the same.
But I'm ready.
No.
Never ready.
Yeah.
I wasn't ready.
No.
Never ready.
Yeah.
I'm starting to feel like Survivor.
I've now outwitted, outplayed, and outlasted two groups of people
or people plus animals who have come here and then left.
Maybe because it's a cloudy, windy, kind of chilly day?
Or is it because they also were looking for peace and quiet
which is hard to find with me here?
How's that looking?
I think it's looking better, right?
I think it's looking way better.
I think I'm getting somewhere.
Keeping my little feet chucking along as I'm learning these skills.
Every time you turn your back
I wish I was done with that
Many times I try to start all over
Oh, please
Give my heart a break
Smiling like you did
First you say you love me
And you promise you will change
Suddenly you're gone
Always on the run
Playing with my feelings
And you do it just for fun
You do it just for fun
Yeah
You do it just for fun
I think that's the best I'm going to do today.
But seriously, that was super fun.
Okay.
That's it for today.
See you guys tomorrow.
I just got really confused at where I was.
