Hi! Today we are going to be making another set of dainty rings but in a slightly different way.
I'm using 18 centimeters of bare brass wire and then using a pen to bend it in half and then
twisting it. Once the twisted part is about 4.3 centimeters long I'm wrapping it around my ring
mandrel to shape it. I'm bending these wires out of the way then snipping the loop in the middle
and also cutting one of the wires short. It should be approximately 5 millimeters.
Next I'm creating a tiny loop with my round nose pliers.
I'm then straightening the longer wire with nylon jaw pliers
and then cutting the very end of the wire to make it flush. The long wire is 1.5 centimeters.
Now I'm creating a small spiral out of the longer wire using my round nose pliers and
also chain nose pliers. When the spiral gets close to the twisted wire I'm bending the wire
sideways a bit. It's easier to finish the spiral that way. And then I'm pushing it forward so it
sits on the top of the twisted wire and pressing it down. And that's one side of the ring almost
finished. I'm repeating the same process on the other side. It's important to remember that the
top wires will be the spirals and the bottom wires will be made into the small loops. As you
can see the spirals and the loops have been made the opposite way but that's okay it really doesn't
matter. As long as they are all the same size it's fine. Next we need a chain. I have this absolutely
gorgeous gold plated 1.5 millimeters by 2 millimeters chain. For this ring I'm using 2
centimeters. Then I'm opening the loop and adding the chain onto it. And of course closing the loop
afterwards. Opening the loop on the other side, straightening the chain and then again adding it
onto the loop and closing the loop. This is what the ring looks like now before adding any of the
charms. Also I've decided to bend the loops upwards a bit for a more comfortable fit. Then I made a
jump ring. Here I'm just pressing it down a bit with my chain nose pliers. I'm opening it sideways
as always finding the center of the chain and now I'm going to attempt to feed it through the link
of the chain. Oops! Let's try again. That's more like it. Picking it up with my chain nose pliers
and now I can hold it with my fingers securely. And I'm attaching this teeny tiny little disc
which I previously engraved with my laser machine and adding it onto the jump ring. Again carefully
grabbing the jump ring with my pliers and then holding bent nose pliers in my other hand. I'm
closing this little bugger and then pressing the joint of the jump ring slightly to make sure it's
nice and smooth. And this is the first ring finished. And on to the next one. I made this one the same
way but using silver plated wire and added 1.5 centimeters of silver plated chain. For the charm
I'm taking one silver plated bead and a silver plated head pin. Adding the bead on the head pin,
holding the wire on the top of the bead with my round nose pliers and then wrapping it around the
pliers. Snipping the excess wire off and we have a nice little charm. I can now open the loop on
the charm and add it onto the chain again. Second ring done and this one is fun. No really it looks
great. The third little ring is made of bare brass wire again and I've hammered this one. Just wanted
to see what it would look like. When I hammered the spirals though there were quite a few gaps in them
and so I decided to stick little Swarovski flatback crystals in the middle of them with
E6000 glue. For the charm I used this beautiful little gold plated flower charm with cubic
zirconia stones. Again available in my shop. And it looks gorgeous. So sparkly and yet so delicate.
Love it. Which one of these rings do you like the most? Mine is probably the silver one with a little
ball. It really is fun to wear. And no they are not the most practical rings out there. I certainly
wouldn't wear them while gardening. Not that I do any. But for something like a night out perfect.
I mean I don't really do nights out either. I guess I'll never wear them. Of course I will. I hope you've
