It's been almost two years of planning and waiting.
Janet and Nirmal, now that we're standing here, you guys have made it. Let's do this.
Being from two different backgrounds, you each have brought very different aspects while
maintaining your own individuality. And when I look at you both, at the life you have built so
far, there is one word that comes to my mind. And that term is synergy, with the merging of
both cultures through each of your traditions.
A marriage never really begins on the wedding day. It begins when two people realize they love and
trust each other. So they begin to share more and more about their lives with one another,
from their deepest dreams and hopes, to the most mundane details of everyday life.
You two have learned a great deal about each other in the years that you have been together.
You have become quite a team, and all your
preparation cannot help but be in your favor as you begin your marriage.
I'm so happy and full of joy to see the love that Janet and Nirmal have.
And I'm grateful for this day to witness my son fall in love and get married to the woman of his
love. Marriage is a fun adventure that is full of surprises, twists and turns. And I have to say
that it never gets old being married to the person that you love. Janet is somebody who loves
fiercely. Words cannot express how happy I am to see that Janet has married somebody who can
love her in that same way. Nirmal, I've considered you family for years, but I'm thrilled to
officially have you as my brother today. I still vividly remember when you and Janet met for the
first time at my parents' house. We were all hanging out, and then I looked at you and said,
hey, can you stop staring at my friend? But look at where we are today.
It's really hard to pick your friends, but Ermil managed to do it by just selecting
probably the weirdest guy that lied to his face and wanted to be my friend.
Thank you for being an amazing human being and helpful friend that we can all count on for the
most random things. But mostly, thank you for being so good to Janet. There's a great heart
behind him. He's one of the most humble guys that I know, sweetest guys that I know, and very generous.
Thank you all for joining us. By being here, you will celebrate with them the love they have
discovered in each other. And we're all here to bless the two beautiful souls, because after this
end of the ceremony, you will receive the son in your life, and you will receive the daughter.
Nirmal, when we started dating, you stood out from anyone I'd ever met. You stood out to me
because you saw in me what I wanted to see in me, a smart, capable person who would make
it someday. With you, I felt safe, seen, and understood. But what I love most about you
is that you balance me. You're good at all the things that I'm not and the common presence I always need.
There's many things I love about you, but one of those things is that you always give me company
whenever I'm around the house building something, whether it's some furniture or, you know, working
on something on the house, you're always there to help me. And even though you won't admit it,
I know secretly that you enjoy it. And I promise that I'll always continue to honor your request
to put the final screw or nail into anything that we're working on, because I know that's your favorite part.
So with that, Janet and Urmil, you are accepting each other willingly.
You're going to be the one body, one mind, and one soul.
Janet, you are and will remain my one and only true love. I promise to one day make you a better
dish than mac and cheese. I promise to be your number one partner in crime, to have fun, whatever
the adventure or journeys we embark on, creating memories, sharing in happiness, good times, bad
times, and everything in between. And no matter what comes our way, as long as you and I are doing life
together, everything will work out just fine. I promise that you'll never face the world alone.
I promise that my love for you will continue to grow from this day forward.
I'll spend the rest of my life taking on the challenge of making you as happy and fulfilled
as you have made me. I always tell you, you are the cutest boy in the world. But today, I'm the
luckiest girl in the world. I love you. To my wonderful son and my new daughter, I love you both.
I would like to raise a toast to congratulate Urmil and Janet on their grand wedding occasion today,
and with such a warmth in our hearts, I would like to welcome Janet in our family.
Our final words or advice? You need to know how to say, I'm sorry in Vietnamese, okay?
and the law of the land. It is my honor and delight to say that you are now husband and wife.
This is the beginning of a great journey for the two of you,
and I wish you the best of luck on this amazing adventure together.
