I am proud to be part of the second.

Oh God, the civil defense is gone.
They killed people.
The civil defense is gone.

The target is big now.
We did not hesitate for a single minute
in supporting the right to security
and self-defense of Israel
after the massacre of October 7th.
It is a horror that will remain
on the conscience of the terrorists
who have been shielding civilians at home
But at the same time,
we cannot be silent now
in the face of a reaction
that has gone beyond
the principle of proportionality,
putting too many innocent victims
at risk.
We must also support
the Christian communities
who have always been a factor
of balance in the region
and who are now
putting at risk
the historical perspective
of the solution
of the two peoples in two states.
And I want to take this opportunity
to say
that we condemn
the unjustifiable killing
of journalists at home,
an unacceptable attack
on freedom of the press
and all those who
bravely risk their lives
to tell the drama of war.
As a nation friend of Israel
and the Jewish people,
we ask all nations,
all political forces
to put as much pressure as possible
on Hamas
in order to release the Israeli hostages
still detained.
And we ask Israel
to stop the attacks,
to stop the military occupation
in Gaza,
to put an end to the expansion
of the settlements
in Cisjordania,
to allow the full access
of humanitarian aid
in the Strip,
to start with the proposals
of the Arab countries
to define a framework
of stability and security.
And yet we revenge with pride
the role of Italy
in this crisis,
because we are the European nation
that has adopted more
on the humanitarian front.

We are the first non-Muslim country
in the world
for sanitary evacuations
from Gaza.
Because there are those who write the emotions
and shout the slogans,
there are those who save the children
and I am proud to be part of the second.
