Someone thinks that pandas are not real.
That trick from the thing earlier.
That felt like you just got that like, brought to you by a spirit from above.
Hi, I'm Zoe Kravitz.
I'm Austin Butler.
And this is Awfrika.
Round one, icebreakers.
First impression of me.
Funnier than I anticipated.
Okay, I like that.
What's the last thing you listened to?
I'm listening to this podcast called Dissect.
And they dissect in rainbows by Radiohead.
It's fantastic.
Is it specifically a music podcast?
Yeah.
He takes an entire season and dissects an album.
It's blowing my mind.
Into it.
It's amazing.
Okay.
What's your iPhone background?
My mom and my grandma.
Oh, that's so sweet.
Very, very wholesome.
That's really cute.
An old picture?
Yeah.
Round two, getting personal.
What's your bad habit?
Probably not texting people back.
Yes.
What is your secret talent?
What is my secret talent?
Well, I guess it wouldn't be a secret if you knew it.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm trying to think of things that I know about you and nobody else knows.
What's my secret talent?
My secret talent is I can pick up things with my feet.
That's a real good talent.
Yeah.
That's useful.
Yes, it is.
What if your hands are full?
Like earlier today, I was in Glam.
I had no hands and there's a thing on the floor and I picked it up with my feet.
And I handed it to myself.
She had things in her hands and she picked up my coffee and she put it in my hands.
I could.
You could.
I could.
Unsanitary, but really helpful.
My feet are clean.
Who's someone you look up to?
You know, I spent some time with Matthew McConaughey the other day.
All right, all right.
And I really, that's good.
Thank you.
That was really good.
Thank you so much.
That's my secret talent, is doing Matthew McConaughey.
You don't need a secret talent.
Kill her, Matthew McConaughey impression.
High school girls, they stay, what is it, they stay?
You got it.
I get older, they stay the same age.
Yeah.
All right.
I blacked out for a second.
I thought he was actually there.
That's amazing.
Yeah.
Again, I'm so sorry, Matthew.
Anyway, you look up to him.
I look up to him.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I do.
Do you have an audition horror story?
I once did an audition and during the audition, the director,
I heard like the shuffling of papers and things.
I don't know whether he was looking at like other actors,
like headshots or like a menu, but he was,
it was an emotional scene and it was, he was not paying attention.
Did you get it?
And I got the part and I had a great time making it.
It was Batman.
It was this film, it was Darren.
It was Darren, Darren the whole time just texting.
What would you do if you weren't an actor?
I've always wanted to be one of those people at a motel
when you check in that they tell you where you park
and they like draw on the little map, like the hotel map.
What job is that?
I don't know, it's like the person in the front desk at a motel.
But you only, because I think the job description
is more than just showing people where they park.
They also give you your keys.
That's a valet.
What's your desert island meal?
Something Japanese, like a teriyaki salmon with rice and like a green thing.
It's boring, but it's like something I could eat every day.
Or breakfast burritos.
I love a breakfast burrito.
Yeah.
Is it me?
Okay.
What's something you initially hated but learned to love?
About you?
No, I'm kidding.
Yes, specifically about me.
What's something that I hated and I learned to love?
No, I never hated anything about you.
I think getting up early in the morning.
That's what just came to me right now.
Because yeah, I used to just absolutely despise it.
But I'm starting to get to the point now where I can like
anticipate the feeling of how good it will be when you're up quite early.
I'm like, wow, look at this whole new, look at this.
Look at the new day.
Yeah, I'm like, look at these people.
They're jogging and the light's different.
The light is different through the trees and the sound of the birds.
Yeah, I'm just like, wow.
And the feeling of like.
So this is morning.
This is morning.
Yeah.
Like I would have been asleep for another three hours.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's nice.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Thank you.
What's something you heard recently that surprised you?
Before I think it was time I went, oh, really?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I like that feeling.
You know what I'm saying?
Someone thinks that pandas are not real.
The trick from the thing earlier.
That felt like you just got that like.
No, I did.
I was doing.
Brought to you by a spirit from above.
Somebody thinks the pandas are not real.
Someone in the room.
No, I was doing an interview earlier.
They were asking me about conspiracy theories.
And this one girl was like, pandas aren't real.
There's something off about them.
And I don't think they're real.
And I was like, what?
Animatronic?
All pandas, not like pandas, not a thing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Like it's a concept.
Also, two different people recently told me they hadn't seen The Matrix.
And I was like, what?
That's surprising.
So.
And also, I feel like connected somehow.
Round three.
Film questions.
Hardest scene to film and caught stealing?
There were physical things.
You know, a lot of a lot of getting beaten up.
Hanging out of a six story window all day.
Yes, all day.
I could hardly move my arm after that was difficult physically.
But then there was a scene like when we're in Coney Island.
And I get some, I don't want to spoil things, but I get some bad news.
It's towards a certain point in the movie where a lot of bad things have been happening.
And I'm on the beach and I get that phone call.
Yeah.
We were running out of light.
And so we only got to shoot one take of each set up.
And it's a very emotional scene.
So we just kind of jumped into it.
And thankfully, I think we got it.
But we just shot one from the front, one from the side, one from the back.
And we did.
There's something fun about that.
It's kind of awesome.
Exhilarating.
What is a lesson you learned on the set of Caught Stealing?
I don't know.
I mean, I definitely learned things.
Is there anything you learned about me?
I learned that you love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
I do.
And we share a lot of those.
Yeah.
Okay, round four.
Style slash guessing game.
I don't understand the category.
Yeah, it's a very brand new thing.
Style slash guessing game.
We're going to find out.
Have you ever kept a piece of clothing from one of your projects?
People love this question.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Dune, I kept the knives.
From Bike Riders, I kept the leather jacket and a bunch of rings.
From this, I can't actually remember besides the lighter.
I kept the lighter that you have.
You have good shirts.
I feel like you should have kept some shirts.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think I may have some shirts.
How involved were you in your character's wardrobe for Caught Stealing?
I was pretty involved.
I feel like you were very involved.
I'm a pretty opinionated person.
You got a lot of opinions.
Okay, all right.
They're good opinions.
Thank you.
Yeah, I feel like it's part of creating a character,
like working together with the costume designer and director.
Did you have different EMT outfits that you maybe liked less,
and then you chose this one?
No, actually, it was pretty like, I think we, no.
But I did, I wanted all these bracelets that she wears.
I like how you did that.
Thank you.
But you had to cover up your tattoos.
Yes.
And then the bracelets would rub and take off the makeup.
Yeah, horrible mistake.
But it was worth it.
I think so.
What is this from?
Ah, oh, interesting.
That is a Beastie Boys shirt that I wear in High Fidelity.
God, you know yourself.
That's cool.
I know myself.
Well, also, that's my shirt.
That's awesome.
This is your personal shirt?
That's my personal shirt.
Did you bring that from home?
Yeah.
Did you buy it for the show?
No, I already had it.
Okay.
What's this from?
What is this from?
Oh, that's my shirt in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Wow, okay, yeah, good job.
Spawn Ranch.

Well played.
Thank you for writing all these questions for whoever took the time to type them.
Oh my god, you are so wild right now.
I really appreciate the flowers and this beautiful set.
Whoever chose the backdrop, it was very creative.
Okay, goodbye.
