Domnul Frank Börner (SPD) este membru al legislativului landului Renania de Nord-Westfalia. În ultimii ani, el a condamnat în repetate rânduri persecuția PCC în timpul marșurilor Falun Gong. În ziua evenimentului, domnul Börner a participat din nou la adunare. În discursul său din 19 iulie 2025 ținut la Düsseldorf, el a spus că practicanții Falun Gong sunt persecutați de PCC doar pentru că își îmbunătățesc sănătatea. Deși practicanții nu au făcut niciun rău, ei sunt arestați și torturați. „Persecuția guvernului PCC este neîntemeiată,” a explicat el. „Opriți imediat persecuția, eliberați-i pe practicanți și asigurați revenirea lor în comunitatea internațională.”
Domnul Börner a arătat și o scrisoare primită de la Consulatul Chinez din Düsseldorf. A spus că a primit scrisoarea după ce a vorbit la marșul Falun Gong de anul trecut. Scrisoarea calomnia Falun Gong și repeta minciunile create în China continentală. Deputatul Börner a spus că acest comportament este prostesc și a oferit două motive pentru care nu a putut răspunde. „În primul rând scrisoarea nu avea adresă, așa că nu știam unde să trimit răspunsul. În al doilea rând, scrisoarea părea copiată de un intern după constituția PCC, fără conținut substanțial,” a spus el.
„Poate ar trebui să rescrie scrisoarea ca să pot răspunde serios,” a continuat domnul Börner. „Atâta vreme cât există încă încălcări ale drepturilor omului în lume – ceea ce este evident mai ales în China, trebuie să ne ridicăm și să ne exprimăm clar poziția: comportamentul PCC nu este acceptabil și nu vom participa la așa ceva.”
