The End Of Our Motorhome Trans Canada Highway Road Trip in Delta British Columbia Vancouver from Toronto to Vancouver in a luxury rented RV motorhome. We return the motorhome to Canadream depot on Delta B.C. Canada. We drove 5,000 km (3,000 miles), through rain, snow, hail and sunshine, through the Prairies and over the Rocky Mountain. Thank you to everyone who watched our videos it was a trip we had wanted to do for more than twenty years. Now we will look forward to another adventure maybe in the future driving from the Maritime Provinces to Toronto.
Okay team, where are we today? We are in Chilliwack. It's in beautiful British Columbia.
We're actually stood in Salish Park which is a beautiful park we've just come across. We just
found and we've come in and we can see there's a water fountain and ducks and stuff. We spent the
night here in Chilliwack after a hectic day of sightseeing yesterday coming down that Highway 1.
We were stopping every five or ten minutes. So it took us a lot longer to do it so we didn't
actually get to our overnight stop till about quarter to eight. So Chilliwack is just a small
town. It's only an hour from where we have to drop off the RV tomorrow. So we thought we would
just come enjoy the sunshine. It's an absolutely gorgeous day. Second day we've been able to wear
a t-shirt. And it's only 9 30 in the morning so it's going to be warm today. So here's a little
park as Tina said. It's Salish Park. It's part of a downtown improvement and got a beautiful
fountain. There's a hotel in the background. But isn't this just a beautiful duck pond.
And way way in the background we can see that there's a pair of Canada geese and they've got
already two, four, six, seven, eight, eight chicks that have already hatched. So definitely
Chilliwack has got springtime. Yeah this is gorgeous. So let's continue having a look around.
Well we've found the downtown of Chilliwack. We have yeah. This is the cocktail you found on the
internet. This is true. We asked a couple of people and we got here in the end didn't we.
Not the easiest of downtowns to find. No it's a little tricky because we're in such a big RV.
But we've managed to park it and we wanted to have a look at this. So this is what's called
the Five Corners in Chilliwack. You see part of the heritage corridor from 1873. There seems to
be a lot of redevelopment going on down here. So it's looking very nice. This is the centre of
Chilliwack. So this is part of a redevelopment of Chilliwack. There's a nice big clock tower up
here. Very modern. We were told it chimes on the quarter hour every 15 minutes. This is what
they're calling Yale Road. Five Corners from 1873. A heritage corridor. And in the background the
building you can see here are the law courts. So a very nice self-contained town. It has a
downtown core as well as all the usual North American out-of-town big box stores as well.
As I said the clock tower chimes every whenever you want.
Like Big Ben.
This is Main Street in downtown Chilliwack. Parking, local businesses, lots of individual
storefronts. Makes for a nice little town centre. There's a nice pub over here on the corner,
Triple Play. So just has a nice small town feel to it. So here we are in Chilliwack. We heard the
bell ring. We did. We've seen the downtown core. It's obviously a nice area that's getting investment
to revitalise it. Yeah I think that's a very good phrase. There's lots of construction work going on
so they'll be making a really nice downtown core here. So we've enjoyed our visit to Chilliwack and
now we have to move on and get closer to the RV drop-off. That's true. So we're going to be
to go. And where are we today Jean? We are in Delta, British Columbia. And that's one of the towns
that make up Vancouver. It's a suburb and it's the final destination on our road trip. It is. It's where
the camper van lives. And we have to take it back so we can fly back to Toronto. So we've had a
fantastic time. Would you recommend doing this trip to anybody? Would highly recommend it. Whether
you're Canadians that live here, come and explore your own country. We've just been through five
provinces on this trip. And whether you live in Europe, Australia and you want to come and visit
Canada, an RV trip is a wonderful way of seeing the country we have. And we feel very fortunate that
we got a really good RV to rent. And we are very fortunate that it's been trouble-free. It's been
very luxurious. We've done the better part of 5,000 kilometers and we are ready to go home now. We are.
But we've still had a fabulous time. And so if you're thinking about doing this, just do it. It's
exceptional. Even the adverse weather that we had just added to the overall trip. So we're glad you
came along with us. And we might even be thinking of doing another one, mightn't we, next year? Yeah,
the Toronto to Halifax or somewhere out east. Yeah, and then that would complete the whole country that
we've driven through. So 5,000 kilometers, two weeks. Exceptional memories that we've had. Priceless.
And we're glad that we were able to share them with you on YouTube. And that you were able to
have a little bit of a taste of what Canada offers. Yeah, to explore it with us. Exactly. So thanks again for
sharing and viewing our videos. And we'll catch up with you again soon.
