FC Cincinnati vs. Philadelphia Union - Full Match Highlights - Battle For The East!

But I want to see chemistry with Evander, Denky and Brenner back in the line-up, back in a familiar line-up for him. I've got a feeling that Andrew Rick, who had the clean sheet last week, might be a little bit busier tonight. And away we go. Margin is none. No time for error, no room for mistake. I was to watch a little bit of football here. Sullivan, Barrivo. To the edge of the ball goes. The first effort towards goal is blocked. Here's Daniel Jean-Jacques. Ball towards goal. Woodwork struck. Inside nine minutes. Sometimes you need a little bit of luck to break the deadlock. And you can see Sullivan, bit of skill in possession of the ball. Decent effort. Takes a mad and wild deflection. Can Evander, the number 10, deliver? Evander's ball in. Delicious looking ball in. It required a fabulous save from Andrew Rick. Take a look at this. The delivery is excellent. Miaska thinks he's getting there. Goalkeeper doesn't know that. Look at that from Andrew Rick. I mean, this is training ground stuff, yes, but still world-class stopping. Absolute top class. Jean-Jacques. Here comes Philadelphia. Iloski! Not too far wide. Iloski's ball in. Strongly dealt with by Miaska. Not once, but twice. Good defending. FC Cincinnati, well-organized defensively. They're making it much more difficult for Philadelphia to create their opening. But here they come again. Ball across from Harry. He'll take the deflection. Barrivo! Big jump. As we said earlier on, we spoke to Chris Albright, the director of football here, just before the game kicked off. And he said the deal came about inside 36 hours, really. Can they find something here through Brenner? Denke towards goal. It's a very astute save from Rick once again. Great reaction. And again, this time a good build-up play from Cincinnati. Denke just goes for it. Has a perfect goal. In the dying embers of the first half. Iloski's ball forwards. Towards the edge it goes. Danly Jean-Jacques! Scramble to safety. Somehow, someway. The game remains goalless. And there goes the halftime whistle. What a way to end the first half. Not the first abrasive challenge we've seen here this evening. Iloski on the ball now for Philadelphia. Towards goal it goes! And over the bar. He's got time here. I'm not quite sure why Iloski takes this one early. And he's got options as well. They get a feeling that this one's going to zip into the far corner. It's not far off of it. It's not a bad effort either. Certainly had Salentano worried about the strike. When you see options running off the ball like that, I would have loved to have seen Iloski just pick up his head and see what options he had. Gillesne is picking up the scraps. Barribo towards the edge. Lukic. Angle against Iloski. Plays it across. Goal! Goal! In predatorial fashion. Bruno Damiani with the goal. And on the big night in the Eastern Conference, Philly land the first punch. Big moment for a big-time player. But how about the build-up from Philadelphia Union? This is quality. Patience and excellence with the delivery. And Damiani waiting for his chance to seize upon Iloski's cross and getting there first. The aggression, the determination, the power and the will gets him there. But the quality of that header finds the bucket in it. It's a brilliant goal. He's an absolute handful. It's a great goal. Perhaps another opening for Philly with Sullivan on the ball. Cross goal, it goes. It needed saving. It's not cleared away. Somehow, someway. Once again, Philadelphia unable. It's a massive chance at the back post for Taibarribo. Echenique. Interrogating run across goal. Denke shows an interest. Falls now to Evander. It's the forest of Philly players. Evander! Gathered by Rick. AT&T, perhaps we have a goal here for Cincinnati. Evander is taken down. It's a yellow card now for Mkanja, who, of course, is off. Big moment in the game. 30 minutes to play. Philadelphia down to 10 men. Incredibly solid game. No need to make a challenge like that. Look to test again. Crosses blocks, the second effort towards goal. Had to be awkwardly, but effectively punched away. Dudley-Carnell is saying to his group, let's hold on, let's counter-press. And here they are again. Iloski on the edge, combining with Damiani. Iloski! Palmed away by Celentano. Still not cleared away. Echenique doing the rest. Fresh legs of Orsiano. Evander. Evander! Across the face of goal it went. Echenique needs to hit this one first time. I'm not sure why he takes a touch here. Obviously wants to get it back on that favoured right foot. It's always at a disadvantage, but that's a big chance. Corner taken short. Evander towards the edge she goes. And Haglund via a deflection let fly. Rick Ableton ricocheting the ball up into the sky. Jabari now into the path of Brenner. Evander. And Denke Brenner! Can Evander deliver? Lovely ball across. And Mika Uwe on defensive duties to clear. Evander. Lovely loitering ball across. And towards goal. And as you mentioned, have six away wins in Major League Soccer this season. If they were to hold on, this would be viewed as their biggest, no doubt. They have some work to do. Here's Valenzuela. And Evander! And wide. And we've had the five minutes. Bradley Carnell said to us the other day, the insinuation when he first took over was to simply be relevant. Was to simply get themselves back into the post-season. And now they've done it!
