Hiking To Steep Tarren / Skiing Narrow Chutes In New Zealand

Yo, let's get it. Alright guys, we are up the Remarkables today. It is a bloody ripper up here. We are above the clouds, literally on top of the world. It is unreal, absolutely unreal. This is the first run of the day and I'm hiking up to Elevator. Haven't even done a warm-up yet. Well, to be fair, this is kind of a warm-up. But I think it's going to be pretty sick. I'm super pumped. Look at this. Insane. Oh, she looks icy. Oh, look at this though. Yo, this is insane. There's Elevator down there. Oh, the bottom looks incredible. Oh, it's going to be so fun. Not a bad day to be up the mountain, eh? Oh, look at that. The cloud just spins for miles. Look at that. All over the horizon, everywhere. All the way around here. Oh my gosh. That is hectic. And we are above it. Bloody unreal. I'm going to do these boots up and we'll get ripping into it. Alright, we on. Oh my gosh. Let's see how good the shoot is. Oh, let's get it, boy. So excited. Skis are already going to walk about. Possibly should have warmed up a bit, hey. It's all good though. What's a warm-up? No matter how much snow they get, these rocks are always out. Definitely been skied. Oh, it's been so skied. Oh no. Oh no, this is icy as. Damn it, bro. I was hoping it would be on. This bottom bit looks good at least. Yo, this is better. It's a fair hike up there though, but I think it's worth it. I'm going to do it anyway. I might try and ski through that shoot up there. That could be pretty interesting. Alright, I've never ever done this before and I'm doing it for the first time by myself. Just pretty dodgy to be honest, but I'm excited to see what the snow is going to be like. So steep. Let's take it nice and slow. Got to watch every footing on this. If you slip, game over really. Holy heck, bro. This is mental. Alright, let's get rid of the skida in this face. This could be hectic as. Oh, check that out. Oh gosh. Unreal. I think it's going to be pretty crusty, but it really doesn't matter. This view is just hectic. Absolutely incredible. So I really can't complain. It's just insane. Alright, let's get it, boy. I'm going to traverse along down to there, I think. Ski down that face. Yeah, she's crusty. Yo. Oh, she's crusty as. Oh, this is next level crusty. Let's go down to the sun. Yeah, snow's pretty anus, but that's fine. Oh, that was a bit better, that last bit. Oh my God, this is so cool. Look at those clouds, man. That's unreal, bro. Oh my God. Do I hike up here? How's this light feeling? Oh, snow's feeling nice, to be honest. I should give that a nudge. It's feeling really nice. I've got to give that a go, surely. First, let's hit this rock drop, and then we'll go and give that a go. So you've probably seen in my videos before that I've hit a rock drop. It's normally this one, but I've never hit it fully, which is what I'm going to do today. Well, I have, but almost done, so see how we get on today. Alright, there's the rock drop there. Oh, I can't hit it. There's not enough snow on it. You can hit it to the side, though. Damn it. Oh, I could actually hit it, surely. Oh, yeah. Yeah, we can. Give it a go. Oh my God, this is massive. Get a nice shifty on it. Alright, I'm going to climb up to that weather station up there, and I've got a line which no one has skied through yet. It is that one through that chute there. No, no, no, through the chute next to that one, actually. Jeepers. What am I thinking? So, I reckon it's going to be pretty nice. The snow's been in the sun all morning, so it's a little bit, it's been de-iced. It's actually skiing nice, as opposed to the one I hiked up to before that had been in the shade all morning, and it's still frozen from last night. So, yeah, I reckon it's going to be pretty sweet. The trick here is to stay up nice and high, and then you don't have to worry about hiking up from the bottom. Oh, you still do, but not all the way. Last time I came down up here, I didn't scope out my line and ended up having to climb down a cliff, so that was something different. This will be my last hike for the day. Fortunately, I've got to go work. I've got to come down here and go underneath that cloud again, but nah, it's pretty epic. If you guys are liking these videos, feel free to comment what you think. I was sitting at home this morning having my coffee and I was like, ah, I don't know if I can be bothered to go up today because I don't really have too much time, but then I saw the webcam up here. I was like, holy heck, looks unreal. Oh, holy heck, the snow is already so much better. You can feel it. Unreal, bro. Holy heck. Yo. All right, got to ski down this bit, hike up the rest. All right, let's get it. Yeah. So I've got my marker to the left of that big rock. Almost lost my ski. That would have been bad. Make sure to keep our distance from that wind lip. Don't want to fall down the face of remarks. Holy heck. All right, chuck the skis on. Bloody get it, boy. Oh my god. All right, I've just hiked all the way up the top of this mountain. Get it, boy. Hold on for this one. Yeah, boy. Ow. That hurt. Ow. Oh, my shin. I just went straight into a rock there. Cheeky shark, bro. Look how narrow this is. It's all good, though. Yo. Oh, my god. That was on. Aside from that rock I just killed, that was epic. Oh, my gosh. Bro, I've probably just put a massive hole in my ski. That was a hard hit. Oh, my gosh.
