'PEACE AND SOLITUDE' on Lake Alexandrina, a remote, high country lake that lies between tussock covered hills, amidst a panorama of snow-covered mountains. This lake is one of New Zealand's scenic wildlife reserves. The entire lake is a 'wildlife refuge' to some 45 species of birds. The lake has plentiful stocks of brown and rainbow trout. Rowing boats are the only mode of transport as sail and motor boats are prohibited.
Lake Alexandrina lies a short distance north of the beautiful alpine village of Lake Tekapo.
