Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser - Part 2 - Media Event Full Experience - Walt Disney World

hi this is josh and jenna with resort tv one and we are here for our media preview of star wars galactic star cruiser yay we're so excited check it out that's right we got the badges we're official and we're ready so we're ready to go so this is gonna be a separate vlog from the actual star cruiser preview day where we go see the ship so this will be like the next day probably we'll post this like on saturday or something but we hope you guys will join us for all the fun as we go to and from the event and all the things that uh we are doing here like at coronado springs and just all the fun yeah we're excited guys all right hope you enjoyed the video all right we're getting on the bus we got our friends josh and nate and jackie we're ready to go guys hello oh nice bus it's very futuristic fitting of the theme i like it blue lights and everything yes all right we are in the contemporary convention center star wars on the floor and this really cool sign look at that whoa guys check this out we are coming in to amazingness champagne waiting hello main ballroom look at this [Music] this is unbelievable my friends wow uh yeah [Music] wow [Music] i don't think that needs any words that's just amazing here's the menu [Music] okay this is unbelievable wow see me back there we're all just like in awe of this what is going on right now [Music] they definitely went all out for this one my friends [Music] so i have to show you guys even the silverware is fancy this is so cool oh my goodness [Music] so they have the symbol for the star cruiser all around the room which is awesome [Music] it's really cool guys it's our first course here he also gave us champagne on the way in and we got to choose between red and white wine i got chardonnay and um we get to work on some pretty incredible projects but i have to say this is the best it really is and we cannot wait to share star wars galactic star cruiser with you [Music] good evening everyone oh there are more people out there good evening everyone there we are we are so excited to have you here tonight and looking forward to all of the cool things that you are going to hear about this evening from our incredible panelists so on behalf of all of our cast members here at walt disney world resort and the greatest crew in the galaxy onboard the halcyon thank you all so much for coming and welcome yes our panelists are super excited to be speaking with you all but for right now we want you all to sit back relax enjoy your meal all right guys second course is crab cakes they look amazing jenna already tried them all gone so here is our main course and it looks amazing i'm gonna have to look over here to see what it is again but is beer braised short ribs french cut chicken breast chardonnay uh an herb paired with tri-colored potato all sorts of things oh my goodness that looks delicious oh okay okay the digital team is sorry i can't pronounce some of those words but man does this look good and smells good too all right so we've had all the courses but dessert and they have been amazing so far a lot of food i can't eat at all but really really good and i can't wait for dessert here's our dessert it is an apple pie with vanilla bean ice cream it looks really really delicious there's even some like gold flecks in there [Music] can't wait to try it all right mine looks slightly different but still very pretty all right guys we just survived an attack by the first order at the press conference here that was so cool but they told us to continue enjoying ourselves we feel like we're safe to record this right now we're okay now we couldn't record uh with video any of the press conference because they really went in detail and i don't think they wanted a lot of the spoilers out there and but what we really took away from it was the people that designed this we saw all the people that designed this the main people in charge of all this they really cared about making this great their baby i mean the passion that was displayed was truly inspiring they really want the guests to have a great experience and it's not just about it's so different from the parks it's not just about ooh this is the coolest ride or this is the coolest fireworks show we've got that in the parks already these are about smaller more intimate experiences that you have with the cast members what do you think yeah and just um something that we have never seen or experienced before um that we're gonna get to see tomorrow and we'll get to explain it a little bit more to you guys and uh yeah so overall we're excited for tomorrow we have a great impression of it so far and uh we'll see what the future holds but uh yeah so all right all right so here we are at coronado springs just got done with the amazing media event at contemporary we're gonna go get some snacks but this resort's amazing it's so cool i just told josh we haven't stayed here since like i was a kid i guess well i think we're in high school but still a long time ago and it's neat to be back it is i stayed in 2019 uh with stefan liam so it's been a long time but the tower i think had just opened yeah i've been in the tower in a room those are really cool too but we'll show you our room too yes we absolutely will do a room tour and all the things but we're just excited to be here it's such a peaceful evening we're going to come back and do a live stream here during the day so if you guys haven't seen this resort you definitely should check it out i agree yeah so let's go get some food so just to show you real quick the lay of the land here again that's that's uh the grundustino tower and then this i don't know what the lake here is called uh but a lot of these resorts like this have these lakes you know even port orleans riverside does and boardwalk and all these but that's el centro over there that's the main building and then three rivers bar and grill three bridges three bridges yeah three something three something so anyway it's just such a neat place all right guys well it is thursday morning we're ready for our star cruiser adventure here in just a few hours but this coronado springs resort is amazing i've been here but i don't think i've really explored this rancho section me neither it's really beautiful and again huge thanks to disney for providing us this room for two nights it's pretty awesome yep the plants of the southwest are in full effect here like full cacti giant yuccas all kinds of things it's really immersive because like you're walking through here and you can't even tell that there is an outside world right now disney does that so well like you look around here and you're just like oh wow we're just in the west right now so jenna noticed that this little uh rock stone area is like actually a dried up riverbed and if you come over this way even the pathway changes yeah pathway changes here and then over here it kind of leads into the real waterway really cool little details all right so we're here in the beautiful el centro mercado de coronado which is an amazing food court area and we've got some awesome food here mickey waffles i mean they're here and you got to get them exactly even i got them i got one so we're gonna enjoy our mickey waffles but again big thanks to disney for having us out to this awesome resort we really appreciate it and uh we are having a great time so all right so we're gonna enjoy some breakfast all right so we're walking back to our room from breakfast we have until 12 30 actually to uh report for the media event and it is now 10 30 10 30 so we've got some time they give us a lot of time here it was nice because you know the thing went a little late not late but later so we got to kind of relax and do our own thing this morning it's been great that's right so and we'll also show you the room here in just a second this is our awesome room here at the coronado springs got the resort tv playing in the background nice three cobble heroes picture over here actually all the pictures are three cobble ghosts it's a really cool resort it is meat room i've done a tour of this before so this is just like just showing you around a little bit the beds were actually super comfortable they were and obviously we made the beds the the resort you know mousekeeping would have done much better than us but made them so that it looked a little nicer for the video but um you can see all the cool paintings and then this is uh these like barn doors type things here yeah these are really neat get ready somebody's still sleeping yep and you can just close that whole area off and it actually stops that fan noise soundproof wow really soundproof that's neat it's crazy by the way just to show you how close we are to animal kingdom there is expedition everest just over the horizon all right guys oh my goodness bright sun's like crazy guys we're so excited check it out princess leia already oh and i got my r2 tagging along i got a light speed shirt on yeah we're ready to go to the galaxy we are going to the galaxy aboard the halcyon the fanciest ship in the galaxy yeah so we can't wait to see what's in store for us we don't have any idea really other than just what they told us last night so we are really excited to see what's gonna happen so excited guys let's do this so we are all checked in we got our wristbands got the black wristband i don't know so that means i guess we're in group two and they're probably going to take us through in different groups different experiences and things so we'll see how that all works out but uh just really excited to be here and uh to see what's in store i know i keep saying that but literally i hope you can feel my excitement we need other words but it's just excitement that's really what it is exactly and like a little nervous but a good nervous it's like yeah excited nervous you know like the first days of something you don't know what's going to happen that's kind of how i'm feeling like almost like a first day of school but better than that i hope so like first day vacation maybe there you go that's better this is the scene here at the coronado as we're waiting everybody's waiting to to board and uh we're just gonna kind of see what's in store all right we're getting ready to load up is everybody ready let's do this thing jojo amazing hey kyle how's it going thank you i need to go to space you are ready to go back to space that's amazing [Laughter] all right this is the vessel we're taking to the scar the star cruiser all right we're on the bus and ready to be transported to a galaxy far far away far far away it's going to be insane and we are rolling all right we are behind galaxy's edge and we're gonna do a little bit of a turnaround here and then we will be back to the star cruiser [Music] you come in right here behind hollywood studios this is it [Music] [Music] all right we are waiting for our turn to go for pictures in front of the iconic sign but it looks amazing while we're waiting this is where you pull up when you begin your voyage here it is the iconic sign ready to go oh my goodness it's really cool this is where you come in it's golden hour too so yeah it's beautiful oh look at the sun over there it's literally bright suns right now all right guys as a beautiful sunset happens over the seven seas lagoon we're back at the contemporary now after an incredible star cruiser voyage and look at these center pieces and you've got both the resistance and the first order represented here and i love how it's even red and blue all right so let's check out the spread here got salad got potatoes wow all right guys so we are at the storytelling section of the media event here so we're going to go in and see what we can do and who we can talk to check it out hi overview got the chandra the star line here and each location they've got like a 50th anniversary walk up and then they've got this is imagineering over here some of the people that we heard from the event uh last night and so a lot of um a lot of people to talk to and then we got the merch down there we'll definitely check that out so a lot of things to look at guys let's go it's a 30 minute session which includes consultation and it includes capture of your photos um just kind of your group one-on-one with a photographer taking you an taking you around the star cruiser um and just capturing photos where you want so you get to tell them what your star wars story is you know and you get to tell them hey you know what i really love that engineering room i really want to get some photos in there hey you know i thought the lightsaber training room was really cool and i brought my lightsaber i really want to get some cool photos there with the glow everything whatever you want they'll take you around to get photos so this is an add-on experience um about 60 days out from your voyage or up to 60 days out from your voyage you can call the same number um that you're using to book your voyage and they will get it put into your itinerary for you wow all right guys we're gonna get our photo taken over here this photopass location it's pretty cool we were just hearing a little bit about the new photopass offerings that are going to be happening on the star cruiser yes [Music] of all the offerings that we have on board the housing starting down here we have breakfast and lunch those are both buffet style uh individually plated items down here we have our kale polenta with roasted mushrooms sausage gravy and egg worms this dish is one absolutely delicious but two is completely plant-based if i didn't tell you that there's no way you could have thought differently because it's right so so good got in front of more traditional we have a star cruiser waffle roasted uh pork sausage and a rolled egg omelette very classic breakfast flavors we have our deviled egg galaxy devil bag you've never seen the devil wow freshly baked pastries every single morning a company by none other than our blue butter because we have blue milk in the galaxy right right so it makes creates blue butter it makes sense that the mix the butter is blue and if the butter is blue of course the yogurt is going to be hard blue yogurt [Music] nice some of our options for breakfast so this is this is what you would enjoy for breakfast but these are choices this is one of the many many many possible combinations you can make for breakfast and every breakfast is different every day okay it will be different okay wow okay awesome incredible up top lunch similar scenario buffet style individually plated items mix and match whatever you would like starting over here this is our taken at the crazy salad so we have garage cheese tomato jam fresh tomatoes pickled vegetables garnish with wonderful olive oil powder and uh balsamic spheres we wanted the food to look different we wanted the food to be vibrant in color right but very familiar in taste right okay flatbreads wonderful very hot oven aboard the ship we're baking flatbreads constantly we're making breads constantly and pizzas they're wonderful flavors throughout the day one of my absolute favorites are glazed tattoo ribs all of the bone tender kimchi slaw on the bottom a roasted bora fish is also one of my favorites very fragrant very flavorful um quinoa chickpeas and kale and then super popular in the galaxy with whipped uh cream almost on the top and then of course you can't have more than one galaxy brownie oh yeah okay that's amazing wow just again a sample of the many many options that we have for breakfast and right moving down over here we get into dinner is the first the first night is a dinner and show kind of experience gaia is performing right loud music a lot of you know interesting characters around the dining room all that is happening this food is coming to the table to be shared so night one is very uh make your own experience situation okay starting over here with your appetizers we have our bento style box with our bow buns we have a bantha beef we have our tip chicken and we have a curry flora they'll come with four different dipping sauces and a spiralized vegetable salad so this comes to the table this box opens up and everybody has fun dipping and mixing everybody is going to be different wow then we move into entrees for the first night and there's a lot of food over here right again everything comes to the table and you guys mix and match whatever you like right okay starting with a bourbon style chicken glaze super delicious roasted vegetable flora herb infused green rice a wonderful shrimp toss and a lobster curry sauce super decadent super delicious however in my opinion the star is going to be the banta beef tenderloin yes we got to try it it was amazing it was amazing cooked super tender glazed with tamarind butter and a tamarind glaze i love it oh the moon rocks that's so cool yeah and of course wonderful meat with a wonderful dessert yes so we have our fruit as we call caramel chocolate mousse crunchy top matcha rocks and a shoe jelly those are the matcha rocks that's so cool so can you explain some of the ways that you had to you know kind of go above and beyond to create these dishes that look like they're from another galaxy well that was a challenge we need to create food from another galaxy right right once we know what the story was the planets were going to be visiting and the characters we're going to be interacting with that's when we started this uh designing the menu and this took over three and a half years to design right wow it's a lot long process a lot of tasting a lot of research a lot of you know making sure that it fits the story uh because along with the entertainment the food is telling the story on board the ship right and i think we struggle a wonderful balance of it i agree absolutely no i mean you can tell it's not just your average cruise ship food it's very distinctive and it's yeah it's very unique we made it on purpose we wanted it to look different yeah we wanted to think about what could that possibly be but as soon as you ate it you're like oh that's familiar i know about that right so it's an adventure but also you enjoy it cool right yeah that's amazing thank you so much thank you and then evan will take you over at drinks all right excellent thank you how are you i'm doing fantastic so i'm evan i'm with the food and beverage concept development team for walt disney parks and reports would love to talk to you and answer any questions you have above all the ways in which you can enjoy your drinking experiences for the halcyon excellent yeah and we did get to try the hoth oh you got to try the hoth icebreakers i did yes it was amazing i wanted to take it with me it's also beautiful which i love i love that you say that so you know in regards to the hawk icebreaker the team was in love with this idea of planetary inspiration so have you ever been a hog no no it is so cold super chilly like not somewhere that i want i like the warmth not for me [Laughter] taste like right so this one has this like crisp like clean refreshing vodka it's got some lemon notes um even a beautiful lemon foam and a hot i mean a ice shard directly from all right so one of the things that passengers love is this idea of having things that are uniquely familiar but new to them aboard this ship right so passengers have remarked that on their home planet it was very familiar to a drink that they referred to as a lemon truck um so but they're like this is a lemon drop in a way that i've never seen it before it's got this beautiful glass it's a different color you know it was something um that resonated with them but what all the while was a little bit delicious well that's why i actually said on the video earlier i said you know it's not super sweet because you wouldn't expect a hot drink to be sweet it's just right it's refreshing and clean which was nice you know that that is so refreshing no pun intended to hear you know the goal is to cater um to so many different tastes offer drinking experience for everyone and that's one of the things that we're most proud of yeah there's a lot of emphasis on this idea of um like an elevated experience you might not even have to drink alcohol right so one of those things that you offer that guest have happened to love is the music twist um so have you ever had music no no so muse is beloved across the galaxy grown on a lot of different planets but the halcyon version is very fruit fruitful it's got some super herbaceous notes to it and then it's got this refreshing like bright tingle almost like a palette cleanser to it as well um that's elevated and lifted with some bubbles um so the name the music twist is actually in relation to how you harvest the fruit um so uh when uh crew members have to harvest the plant they grab it then they have to pull it and twist it and really quickly they have to take your hands and the reason being is because as soon as it's removed from the plant it's got these prongs that kind of spike out and definitely not good for hands right right right use a twist is actually like a nod or an ode to how you happen to harvest all right that sounds like you have to have some training to do that oh absolutely crew members and uh villagers crew yeah throughout the galaxy well trained excellent great so what else do we have here um so uh one of the things that you'll see in front of it is the blue milk citrus face um so that is a non-alcoholic specialty drink that is beloved by young wings and adults alike it has our very own bantha blue milk mixed with lime and lime lemon and some bubbles some lychee the coolest part is it's topped with a bluebell shortcut which is completely floral yes and then uh right here you'll have the mark of the huntress so the mark of the huntress really takes its inspiration from this idea of a clear strong female mercenary that is charming and cunning all the while quite dangerous so this has a beautiful and elegant high-proof bourbon in it it's got some current uh some stone fruit and then some bubbles to really give it like this delicate and whimsical taste but when you taste it that could be dangerous yeah that's one of the things that i say and say wow i really want another sip and i can drink a lot of these but i might need to be careful because it's got a strong backbone right okay excellent wow well thank you so much is that wine it is wine yeah really art culture so it's got these bright tropical fruit notes amazing acidity i mean it's bursting with flavor some might say it's even a little bit explosive on the palette is a celebratory drink um that pod racers had either before or after their races um this version has those bourbon orange peel and uh just a little bit of uh and then passengers have remarked that it feels to them like what on their home planet they were known to as an intervention okay okay very nice excellent thank you thank you so much for giving us a tour of the drinks of the galaxy it's been my honor thank you for joining us and we look forward to seeing you once again i can't wait all righty well thank you for sharing all the merch with us yeah so i'm amanda luna brand merchandising manager on lucasfilm and i get to share all of this fantastic collection from chandrala so here is sk we have him in various formats um one of my favorites [Music] so cute here for our droid factory fans we also have him here and then of course we have our um feature remote control action figure as well this is similar to the ones that you can find on batu so he does have his personality port here and is fully uh functional with lights and sounds that's cool so other than the fact that it is this specific to the you know sk 620 that's on the ship he's similar to the ones you can get on batu very the cool ship itself i saw that that's incredible we have our uh resin collectible with this beautiful base um the ornament is one of my favorites because it has the detailing of your itineraries and the planets that you are passing by on your cruise oh that is cool [Music] and then of course of course some other items but this toy comes in nine different um pieces you're able to assemble and construct it yourself and you may hear some sounds that sound similar to what you experience on the star cruiser that's fun and it has the lights and the sounds oh my goodness of course my favorite is really the role play all of the the apparel that we've done and developed for this experience it really is so immersive one of my favorites is a stunning piece inspired by padme's cloak and then underneath is our you know kind of galactic black little dress view this also comes with the belt and then for our young wings we also have the captain's jacket and hat so you can fully really immerse yourself into this story and become your own star wars character and you said that was based on padme that the bigger yeah the pattern yes wow and then of course an array this is just a sampling of our collection we have our executive journal um even this magnet the uh kind of granite look is inspired by some that you see along the ship um one of my favorites is the silhouette this drinkware goblet um you may recognize it from solo a star wars story yeah that's super cool and then also i love this a box set so one of the activities that you're able to do on board is learn how to play sabac and calcium kind of has some house rules it's called coruscant shift so this comes with the rules and you can just learn how to play at home or continue uh playing as you may have already learned on the ship we saw it in the sublight lounge but we didn't get a chance to play it but it looked really cool yeah and then we do also have a sabbat chip set so this has everything you need um from one five and ten you can see the denomination here on the edges yeah and then of course the detailing of the logo right that logo is on so much of the merchandise they've done such a great job with that yes you can even see wearing one of our cufflinks here or our cuff bracelet and again it's all in the detail of the logo yeah and then you see i guess you've got even magic bands over here yeah i know people will be interested in that you do come you know you do get the white one um when you are uh make your reservation but we also have this black one with the halcyon and then the ship itself okay so a white one does come with the reservation but then you can also purchase the additional to have the whole the full collection if you want it's a very fancy pen as well we've got the hat up here yeah and then what is this jacket this jacket it's inspired by the captain's jacket and then this is one of our um blouses for women underneath here with the chandelier again we have kind of our basic shirts for um featuring the halcyon and the chandelier star line as well as for children and just like the raised ink detail just very we really paid attention to all the detailing for every item right and little patches and things here cool and if you really want to immerse yourself even more in the role play we do have headdresses available so okay is that similar to what gaia had very similar or not quite sweet she said okay yeah i thought that was okay got it and then this one too is one of my favorites it's kind of um it's inspired by fail organa's uh cloak here uh our team is actually able to go to the legacy archives see the full pattern and be able to replicate this wow one of my favorite pieces is this metal detailing here on the sleeve as well yeah you can just tell the craftsmanship that's gone into this like with just all the different layers and levels of each design absolutely again kind of a sampling of our jewelry really playing into that logo um that is just so iconic to the ship that you see everywhere and then last but not least one of my favorite parts of the halcyon was lightsaber training so this is our legacy lightsaber it is an exclusive quilt design and then something that we put in here was be able to personalize it with your initial if you'd like uh of arabesh and then again here on the bottom you see the logo so you know that this is a special lightsaber not found in the parks exactly and you can see even here on the box it is a different color box and what you get in the park so it is the black it has that halcyon logo here and then these are the 26 characters that come with um the the saber itself and then this is a magnetic application wow and then the shield behind that there and then the shield so we have two different versions one is a more um a lighter weight for children a toyota one and then of course we have our legacy shield has more weight to it it has a metal hilt in the back and then it also comes in different colors so okay one that you train with is blue but if you go to batu and let's say you're feeling a little more stiff in a red so it matches all the different kyber crystal colors that we offer but then we have our traditional blue as well wow incredible thank you so much thank you can't wait to go buy something all right so we just finished the main media event there lots of people to talk to we got the full scoop on the food and of course the merch i was so excited i just wanted to buy something content it's like literally you can live your adventure through the merch as well and i'm not usually excited about that but this time i really was yeah like if if and when we do book a trip eventually gotta do it i want to like drop a card again yes a whole different outfit so anyway we're gonna head back to the coronado and uh get packed up and get ready to edit all this together and uh get pictures ready for tomorrow that's right so you guys can find out all the cool things that we did all right well we're back at the coronado what an amazing day oh my goodness amazing i'm so tired but it was so worth it so good so now we got to edit the main video and then this one hopefully it'll go up sunday if all goes well so uh but we hope you enjoyed this extra look kind of part two of the media event here showing a little bit more detail some interviews merch food we learned a lot more about the food and the merch that was really cool there's a story behind everything yeah it was yeah so again we were blown away by everything today i came in skeptical i left convinced that this is an amazing experience and uh i'm ready to go on our own uh with our own money and i think that obviously that might have to wait a while because it is expensive but i do think that um it is worth it and it's on our bucket list so we're gonna do it eventually so we get the full experience yes today was amazing though can't wait so again thanks to disney for having us yes that was awesome huge thank you to disney like jenna said for hosting us out here and um you know putting us up in the room and uh you know just taking us the events giving us dinner all the things and letting us experience it it's been amazing um but we did want to give you the honest review again we really do feel like it's worth it and you know me you know on the boobash um i was very vocal that i didn't like it i didn't like enchantment at first um so you know i'm not afraid to say when i don't like something it's true i just like everything usually but i was skeptical of this just because i'm so expensive so expensive and i am claustrophobic claustrophobic so i was afraid of that but i like i said i didn't feel claustrophobic at all again i didn't stay in the room um so it might be a different story when i stay in the room but i it was amazing i didn't even have time to think about it that's how cool it was well that's yeah that's it i mean everything is just moving moving moving the whole time now when you're on the ship i think there's some more moments to relax and some downtime but yeah which would be good yeah but i like i said um you know i'm not afraid to say when something's not good but this is so good you could tell the people that did this poured their hearts and souls into this wanted it to be amazing wanted it to be an experience people would never forget and i truly believe that if you're a star wars fan or even if you're just casual you'll get pulled into this yeah you will because i i mean i'm i like star wars but it's to me it's not as like harry potter is more my thing and i like star wars but i was pulled in i was it was awesome yeah from the very beginning so and the characters are so good um you know they're so just interactive and they want to meet you they want to you know um just be friends with you and it's so cool the way that they them the way that they interact with the guests and and again this was just in a really quick experience i'm sure you know on a full cruise they'll get to know you they'll see you around oh you're the one that did this this one time or you know whatever so definitely highly recommend it if this is in your budget or if it's something you want to save up for it is worth the money and um you definitely should consider doing it i agree all right everybody well definitely check out our
