Wow! Starship Ship 37 Door Opened to Deploy Starlink in Space totally Thrilling Scientists minds...
Yes, this was one of Flight 10’s greatest achievements and a key milestone for Starship. For the first time, test payloads were successfully deployed, opening the door to countless futures where Starship supports and builds systems in orbit. And this is only the beginning. How did SpaceX achieve this breakthrough, and what comes next? Let’s explore in today’s episode of Great SpaceX.
You may recall that just three months ago, during Starship’s Flight 9, we came incredibly close to witnessing history as SpaceX attempted to deploy payloads from Starship for the very first time. That moment, however, never came to fruition. Instead, the Ship encountered significant technical problems that caused it to lose control, forcing SpaceX to skip the deployment objective altogether.

Now, only three months later, that long-awaited milestone has finally been achieved. At 17 minutes after liftoff on Flight 10, the payload door opened successfully, signaling a very encouraging step forward. Rather than rushing the process, SpaceX allowed Starship an additional two minutes to stabilize and reach the proper altitude before continuing. Then, at the 19-minute mark, the payload dispenser was raised. Onboard were eight simulated Starlink satellites designed to replicate the shape and mass of real payloads. The lowest payload lined up perfectly with the opening of the payload door, and once ready, the drive system gently pushed it out into space.

The motion was slow, steady, and precise. Even though these were only test payloads, the sequence revealed an impressive level of mastery. For the first time, SpaceX successfully demonstrated the payload deployment model it has been developing for years. After the first release, the dispenser gradually lowered, aligning the next satellite with the payload door. One after another, each simulated Starlink was deployed in turn. Finally, at around the 25-minute mark, the eighth and last payload exited Starship, completing the process and marking an absolutely perfect success.
It is important to note that these payloads were only dummies, released at an altitude of about 190 to 192 kilometers. They will eventually re-enter Earth’s atmosphere and burn up, with any fragments falling harmlessly into the ocean. Still, this does not diminish the importance of what SpaceX achieved. The mission was a critical demonstration that Starship’s payload deployment system is functional and reliable, paving the way for future flights that will carry real satellites into orbit.
