Do you know that the Emperor’s Box in the Palais Garnier is actually some of the worst seats in the entire Opera House?
It’s true and it’s simply because the Emperor sat there rather to present himself than to enjoy the performance on stage. But that’s also why the Emperor’s Box means significantly both history and culture wise.
At the end of August 2019, the restoration of the Emperor’s Box in the Palais Garnier was formally completed through the combined efforts of the Paris Opera, Hantang Culture and all the workshops. Almost one and a half centuries of deterioration were reversed within a short six weeks.
