FINNEAS Shares How He Stays Grounded, New Band With Ashe

The city concert series on today is proudly sponsored by city. We are back now with a multi talented music star who has taken over our city concert stage this morning. Yeah, Phineas has 2 Oscars 2 Golden Globes and 10 Grammys it is clear why he is one of the most sought after singer songwriters and producers in the music industry. Yes, he's got one more song just for us office sophomore album for crying out loud and just a bit but first he's come inside to catch up with us what a delight you've been. Wow that's very sweet. I like those 3 side-by-side images you just had up of me over the years I I feel like I'm aging like a president. So rapidly. One in the middle is the is from 2020 and then over the years I I lost my vision. Look at me now to go back to go back to go back to right now. Yeah, this is 5 hard years of the funniest part of that is you're only 28. Yeah, so in the middle and I'm being I was like 22 years old ridiculous, I would disagree you're aging very well style to find why yeah, but you've got so many of these trophies now so many awards to Oscars 10 Grammys you talk about that all morning when award season comes around now, yeah, do you feel extra pressure. No I feel no pressure at all honestly I think one of them all well, yeah. I think that yes, that's the number one reason that the second part of it is like the first time you do anything there's a great quote I heard it from Trevor Noah years ago, it's not his quote, but it's like the whole experience like when you get invited to an award show and you have a big album or a big film if you're an act or whatever else is like use it to treat it like a rental car right drive around in it like don't crash it know that it's temporary know you have to give it back to really good analogy and so I guess like at this point any time I get to go to one of these again, I just like wow I can't believe I still get to go to these like I really thought all of those would be like a one-time thing I thought we wouldn't win and then I thought we'd never go back so we've won and we've gone back and that's amazing that's great perspective. Yeah, Oscars is it's just incredible. She worked with major artists like you're here with your own music, but then you're producing for Justin Bieber could get of course, your sister Billy is there anyone that you haven't worked with that you want to you know, I think that these questions are always like I always want to have the best answer I think 2 things one is like man I just want to keep working with people like Billy, I love working with I want to do more albums with her. I got to sing a duet with Casey Musgraves this year, a huge fan of Casey a big fan of the artist Ray was just an outside lands got to watch to Hollis think to Hollis is amazing. Yeah, there's newer I get sent new artists all the time and for the brand new people are usually like the person that I'm really like the most sort of intrigued by because they have so much to say as opposed to some music so established already like maybe I would have a great time and learn from but I might not be able to like provide as much for somebody's like already killing it. Yeah, what a great answer. Yeah, you also started a band. Yes favors and that's right. I mean when you do all of this for so many other artists for yourself. How how do you even come up with more stuff to so that the back story on that is ash and I have known each other for years and love each other and I feel like our music solo like my music under my name for music like they live in the same sort of like cinematic universe so to speak and so she texted me 2 years ago and said what if we just made one album we started this family play a handful of shows, you know doesn't have to be a long thing and so we did exactly that we've made the album at home in my living room which we had a great time doing and then it's about to come out and we have these these handful of shows were playing red rocks on September 26 just like one of my favorite venues in the world were playing Hollywood forever cemetery in Los Angeles on September 18th. And then we were here playing Central Park on October 1st so I mean it's like some really cool place dream than you say we're so excited to be doing so we're so excited you're here. Thanks man enjoy your spirits. Any time thanks to you one of those guests by when we ask you a question we can like see the wheels. One of my eyes wandering. We like that by the way don't go anywhere Phineas is going to come back with one more song to kick off the weekend 3rd hour today right back after this.
