Hello, I admit, I'm a last-minute person.
There is really no excuse for that.
And this video is for those of you who feel like me,
because if the video goes online, it's only a few days until New Year's Eve.
And I know that some of you haven't planned any outfits yet,
but are also not really motivated to shop for new things.
Or if you're like me, maybe you don't have any concrete plans yet,
but rather leave things open to see what happens.
So today I'm going to style a few outfits for New Year's Eve,
with what I already have in my wardrobe.
The first thing I'm going to style is this top maxi dress that I'm wearing right now.
I actually wore this dress last New Year's Eve
and I already used it in my previous video about styling clothes,
that I usually never wear.
This is a piece of clothing that I don't really wear often,
because, as you can see, it's a bit too dramatic for everyday life.
But I think it's still great for occasions like New Year's Eve.
New Year's Eve, if you just want to have something certain.
I've already combined this piece of clothing with pants and shorts.
This time I decided to go for another maxi dress underneath.
I think this combination of dress and dress and black kitten heels
results in a simple and elegant outfit.
To make the outfit feel a little more personal,
I will try to style it with my three keywords.
For those of you who don't know my three keywords
from Alison Bornestein's three-word method,
comfortable, minimalistic and rebellious.
I will try to give the outfit a more comfortable note
by wearing this cozy, oversized ivory-colored sweater over it.
I think the fluffy texture will create a nice contrast to the top.
And the fit is pretty oversized,
which definitely gives the look more of this comfortable note.
Like this.
I know, you can't see it in full size right now, but I'll show you in a minute.
And a little tip on the side,
if you want to make the sweater look tucked in your pants,
but you can't tuck it in anywhere.
I just used a few safety pins
to secure the lower part of the sweater to the dress.
Then I just turned the sweater around,
so that it looks like it's tucked into a skirt.
But that's not really it.
Now I have two options for shoes.
I can take my combat boots
or a pair of black cowboy boots with pointed toes.
And I think I can choose which jewelry I wear.
The first option is this pearl necklace that I'm wearing right now.
I think it's very feminine and elegant.
It goes very well with the lower part of the outfit,
the maxi dress made of pointed toes.
I think the cowboy boots with pointed toes
are the better choice for this option than the combat boots,
because in my opinion,
they just fit the overall look of the outfit better with the necklace and the skirt.
When I decide on the combat boots,
in my opinion, they don't go so well with the pearl necklace.
So I can exchange the necklace for a more minimalistic one,
for example against a silver corduroy necklace.
That gives the look a more casual note.
It also looks a little more masculine with the combat boots.
And I'm going to round off the outfit with this olive green artificial fur coat
I think both pieces give the look a rebellious note.
Depending on the mood, I can either choose one or the other.
I could wear the pearl necklace and the pointed cowboy boots
if I want a more feminine look,
or the silver necklace and the combat boots
if I like it a little lower.
Let me know in the comments which of the two is your favorite.
The next piece of clothing that I'm going to style
is this blouse with a deep V cut that I'm wearing.
As you can see, it has a very deep V cut.
And I actually had to put this part together
so that the neckline is not too loose and deep.
The blouse gives the look a certain sexiness and a rebellious touch.
I think I would also like to say
that the look is a bit inspired by Kate Moss.
By the way, someone mentioned in the comments
that my third style word, my emotional word,
should be sexy instead of rebellious.
And I don't think that's a bad idea.
I've seen that some people use words
from time to time to change their style words.
So maybe I can use rebellious and sexy synonyms.
These black bootcut jeans go best with this blouse.
I've tried many other jeans for this,
but this just seems to be the best combination.
I'm wearing a minimalist style with a black, narrow belt.
And I'm wearing the same cowboy boots as in outfit number 1
because the pointed toes make my legs look longer.
One more little tip in this context.
Shoes make the legs look longer
because pants and shoes have the same color.
If you use this trick, you should pay attention to the following.
Shoes that cover the back of the foot
make the color from the legs to the toes look
longer than shoes that cover the back of the foot.
You should definitely think about that.
As a top, I can wear the same green fur jacket.
This is such a simple piece of clothing
to spread the party feeling.
And together with the blouse and the bootcut jeans,
it gives a 70s touch.
But if I want something different as a top,
I could choose a brown maxi coat.
By the way, this is my brother's coat
that he forgot at my parents'.
So it's a little too big for me
and I have to change it.
Or I could also choose this gray midi coat.
Both give the outfit a more structured note
than the comfortable and cozy green fur coat.
To give the outfit a comfortable note again,
I exchange the black jeans for this black maxi skirt.
I think the cowboy boots are a bit too heavy
because the skirt is very blunt
and the silhouette below is already quite heavy.
Instead, I exchange the shoes
for these white pointed pantyhose.
These were my wedding shoes.
This takes some weight from below
and ensures a more balanced look.
Between the brown maxi coat
and the gray midi coat with skirt,
the midi coat shortens the skirt,
while the brown coat
mimics the length of the skirt.
I think it fits better with this outfit.
I will round off the outfit
with a simple black handbag.
Now the outfit becomes comfortable,
minimalistic
and has a touch of rebellion
due to the deep V-cut of the blouse.
With this outfit,
the overall look becomes a bit more formal.
Now I have two options,
a rather light and a rather formal one.
The next piece of clothing
that I will style
is this sleeveless knit top
with skirt.
It is quite minimalistic
and also a bit sexy.
This is another piece of clothing
that I don't wear often
because the fabric for the summer
is a bit too thick.
For the winter it is of course too cold.
So it's not a piece of clothing
that I wear every day.
But I think it's another piece of clothing
that is excellent for occasional occasions.
I have the feeling that every time
I take out my closet,
I just can't get rid of this piece of clothing.
This time I will try
to combine it
with a dark blue straight jeans.
I grab my black flat net shoes
and just use the same black
narrow belt as in my previous outfits.
In terms of styling,
I can first combine
a jeans jacket in a similar color
as the pants.
The jacket is quite oversized.
I think it's actually a men's jacket.
So it provides a comfortable look.
I round off the look
with a simple bordeaux colored bag.
I could change to a
ivory colored blazer
to give the outfit more contrast.
To keep the outfit minimalistic,
I stick to the three-color rule
and round off the outfit
with the simple black bag.
If I want to focus more
on the minimalistic look,
I can replace the jeans with a gray
and create a monochrome look.
But if I want to add more
of this comfortable look,
I can replace the jeans
with a pants with a looser fit
and in a lighter color
to make the overall look
a bit lower.
I think the ivory colored blazer
is a bit too formal for the jeans.
So I replace the blazer
with this black artificial leather blazer
that has a wide fit.
Now the look is very minimalistic
with a touch of 9R years.
I think the leather provides
a rebellious touch
and the ivory colored bag
is also minimalistic.
But overall, the fit is quite loose
and comfortable.
And if I want to create
an outfit with more contrast,
I only have to replace the jeans
with a white one.
The pants that I own
also have a wide fit,
so it still looks very comfortable
and feels like that.
The combination of black and white
creates a minimalistic 9R look
and the leather details
on the blazer provide
a rebellious touch.
I think the color contrast
should be a bit bigger
than with the burgundy colored bag.
So I replace the bag
with this orange-brown
handbag.
You could also change the belt
to an orange-brown
but I keep the black
ballerinas for an evening look.
This is such a cute outfit
that you can also wear during the day.
I just have to replace the shoes
with more comfortable ones.
When I wear an ax,
the color of the shoes now matches
the color of the bag.
Therefore, I replace the belt
with a black one again
so that the colors do not match too much.
So, that's it.
I think there are enough options
for a variety of occasions.
I hope this video has inspired you
to decorate your closet for New Year's Eve.
As I said, I don't have any fixed plans yet
but it was still fun
to dress up
and now I feel ready
for everything I will do on New Year's Eve.
I hope the video was helpful for you.
I wish you a safe and beautiful New Year's Eve
and we'll see you in the new year.
Until then, stay unique and stay beautiful.
