Suddenly, a loud explosion shattered the silence of the night, as multiple critical steel strands snapped, causing the bridge deck to lose tension. The 108-meter steel beam main arch rib collapsed abruptly within 3 seconds, with part of the structure plunging at an angle into the fast-flowing Yellow River below.
