Partying with Local North Koreans on May Day (2019)
One of my fondest memories in North Korea - jumping in on a karaoke session with the local North Koreans on their day off.
May Day is a national holiday for the North Koreans. They often spend their time in parks hanging out, singing, dancing, and drinking!
We were having a BBQ nearby and I can never resist a karaoke session. Once I heard my favourite song was on, I ran to crash their party.
None of this is staged.
None of this is fake.
None of these North Koreans were told to sing with me, were told to be nice and welcoming, were told to offer me drinks and talk with me... They were all so happy to hang out with me, even though I somewhat imposingly crashed their party with friends.

- Who am I? -
Hello! I'm Zoe and I'm from the UK. I'm here to give you a different insight into North Korea, from someone who has called it their second home for more than 2 years.
I'm not here to play into the media role of saying how crazy and terrifying North Korea is. There are plenty of vlogs out there who give you that "experience".
I'm here to give facts, answer questions, and show a human insight into the DPRK (North Korea).
