I've been a pro makeup artist for 20 plus years and today I'm spilling all the tea on the hacks that we all use behind the scenes. Hey y'all I'm Darlene a pro makeup artist and today I am pulling back the curtain on all of the hacks, the tips, the tricks that pro makeup artists use behind the These are some of the best kept secrets to help you look flawless, have juicy lips, plump skin and techniques that you will have people thinking you got a full glam swathe. So girl let's get ready and let's dive right on in. So before we get started if you've been watching me for any amount of time you already know how I feel about these. You already know how I feel about these Peter Thomas Roth 24 carat eye patches. Take away the dark circles. I mean all of the things. I absolutely love it. It's hydrogel eye patches and they are absolutely fabulous and I use these whenever I just need my look to be fabulous to be snatched. I need my face to look like I'm 20 again. So I'm pulling out all the stops and this is stop number one. These patches are fabulous. So I'm going to take these off but the way you would use them is that you would leave them on for like 15 minutes. So I already have on all of my skincare, my moisturizer. The only thing I haven't done is just my primer. So you would do this take it off after 15 minutes and girl your eye just look how beautiful soft and glass like these my under eye looks. It's just I love these. I love it and you can't tell me otherwise baby. Oh yes ma'am. So that is number one. Number two. Okay so hack number two is this little dandy little contraption. This is fabulous and what is it? Girl it's designed to zap all of those nose hairs. We gotta get the nose hairs because we want the whole face to look amazing and there is nothing worse than you out girl you getting it and there's an image there's a picture and your face is turned the wrong way and all you see is hair up in there that is not the look we're going for and I knew for a long time I needed this and I'm so happy I finally made the investment. You just insert your battery in here and can you hear that? That you just push it up and you just start it and you literally so this is it y'all you literally start it and you just go around and you could feel it that's it. Now I've already done this so there's not much but it's as simple as that y'all we need everything to look amazing and then you turn it off and then you've got a little brush that comes with it and you just you want to flick off the hairs but you also I would take alcohol and clean it that way and that's it girl no no matter which way you turn no matter which way the camera catch you looking good so this is hack number two. Now let's get into the skin now I know this is gonna sound crazy it's gonna sound wild it works I did a skincare video where I put my whole face in a big bowl of ice water for five seconds and I did it I think three times so this is the next best thing girl just get you some ice get you some ice and just go over the face go over it instantly it's going to tighten instantly it's going to make your face smoother instantly it's just take it girl just take it as long as you could take it girl keep going don't stop don't stop oh child don't stop keep going and that's it that's all I can take and then just take just a little Kleenex and just dab it out and you'll see how much smooth your skin is going to be prior to you putting your makeup on so that is hack number three I'm probably gonna miscount on these hacks but so far we good hack number three let's move on okay so whether you have unruly brows or not I love a nice smooth looking brow and there's all kind of products out here I even promote one that I love a lot which is by Maybelline I think it's called I can't remember what it's called because I don't have it in front of me but I'll put it right here I've used this many times before but let me tell y'all a hack yes ma'am you this is what is actually in my makeup kit because you know what these brows are not moving they are not moving and you just take a little bit squeeze it out got to be glue right if it's okay for the hair on your head then it's okay for the your brow hair and I just slick it on with my finger and then I take my brow pencil today I'm using precisely my brow number four brow pencil and then I just brush it up smooth it again with my finger brush up the other one smooth it with my finger and first of all how amazing does that look just by itself and then you just proceed as usual as normal which will be after you do that you just take a little bit of loose powder with a setting brush tap it on top because you want to keep that area nice and matte because I'm now going to apply my brow pencil and I know y'all got brow gel at home this is just the one that I use but you can certainly use any brow gel and then just fill it in just like that that brow looks fantastic soft and natural so now we're going to move on to the next hack so this isn't quite a hack but I am in love with Danessa Myra Smooth Yummy Skin Universal Balm is it a I call it a balm yeah it's a balm powder and I really love it so I'm going to be using this today for my primer I love it because it comes with a little scooper and you just scoop it out and apply it so where you need it and then just blend it in a little bit on my chin I'm actually going to put a little bit also on my eyelid because it is a primer so let's just blend all of that in y'all my skin can't get no beautiful now work with me on this next step this is really the hack so if you don't have one of these I'm going to recommend girl get you get you one hold on I will make sure to link everything below but this right here get you one of these when you really want to be precise in the amount of makeup you're using and you don't want to necessarily double dip you want to not use too much product this is the best thing to have so what you're going to do is now I know I did a video on how to make your makeup sweat proof for the summer and and in that video I talked about how using a oil-free foundation or matte foundation was the go-to and it still is but this is another hack that makeup artists do all the time so the foundation I'm going to use because this is the foundation I love to use in the winter time because it's very dewy and it's Maybelline fit me number I believe it's three yes number 355 and it's very dewy very hydrating right but I'm not trying to wear this in the summer because why it's gonna melt so let me tell you what you're gonna do you're going to put a little bit of your foundation on your tray just like that that's what you're gonna do then you're going to take your translucent powder the powder I'm using is by Danessa Myricks this is powder 01 and you're going to put a little bit of that powder onto the tray like this just like that then you're going to take your little stick you're gonna mix your little heart out mix it until you just don't see any more powder girl just mix it like that mix it real good so by mixing this it changes the texture of the foundation so that it is perfect moving and gripping your skin and the beauty of it is that you get that rich color payoff so after you've mixed it very well on your tray you can just take what's on take your little stick and just apply as so just like that and then you want to take a foundation brush and stipple it in you don't want to rub because you don't want to create any creasing so just tap it in tap your heart away and girl do you see the finish let me get close do you see stop playing with me stop playing with me if you need a little bit more you can put your brush down into your palette and get a little bit more getting the side of my nose good so i'm getting the color that i love i'm getting that real skin like look that i love but i'm gonna get the staying powder that i need because the powder is mixed in i'm gonna put some over my eyelids as well just using what is left in the brush girl tell me that it's not a good hack don't say i never taught you anything all right let's move on to the next hack so the next thing i want you to use your tray for is for your contour on the face so you want to take whatever your contour stick is however it comes in the cream form just put it on the tray rub it in so you get a nice amount there and then you want to take whatever cream brush you use to apply your contour you want to tap into it here then you just want to apply it and it just goes on like butter right it just goes on it's not too much you don't by doing it this way you don't now have to do a lot of blending out because you've got this big old stripe of dark color on your face so that's all you do and it's just blend look how flawless and seamless that contour is do you see don't act like you don't see girl let me turn this way so you can see now i know you see it it is so seamless picking up a little bit more now i'm gonna take it to my forehead taking it back into my hairline girl and that is contour done easy let's go on to the next hack now you guys have seen me use this little triangle lately to apply my concealer and i love it i love doing it that way and so on the same tray i'm going to put my concealer which i'm using Too Faced Born This Way i'm just going to add a little glob right here okay then i'm going to take my triangle sponge and tap into it and the reason i like to use this sponge is because it gives me perfect placement for my concealer so you just take it and i usually like to start right here just like that and then i start to take it underneath the eye as far out as i want it and again i'm doing a tapping motion and then i begin to bring it down this way you're not using too much concealer that's the hack y'all that you're not using too much so again placing it on the side of my nose then underneath the eye take it as far out as i want it and then i begin to go down concentrating more of the fuller amount of it here and if you see that it's not even with the other side just go back and fix it until it's even and then we're going to let that sit and then i'm going to just suggest you take it right from the wand put some on your eyelid on the bottom and then take that setting brush and just pat it out so we're priming the eye as we're preparing for our shadow just go back and forth taking it up and as you see it's going to fade out as you move up okay now as your concealer is setting you want to go and take a little bit of your loose powder i'm again using the danessa this isn't much here i'm just taking very little and the reason you only want to use a little is because you want the pigment of your shadow to show up and if you're using too much powder white powder translucent powder it's going to diffuse the color it's not going to allow that color to pop the way you want so now you just want to set it using what's in the lid is just enough okay we're going to continue to let that concealer sit girl the longer it sits the better it's going to conceal so on to the next hack now i know a lot of you struggle with that nose contour hopefully this hack will help you so i've got a little bit of that contour cream left on my tray so i'm tapping into it the same brush that i use to do the face you want to take it and just go down the middle of your nose just like that taking a little bit up underneath the brow that's fine come straight down then you want to take that sponge you just used you want to take it right down the center of the nose and then take it a little bit out and above your brow just like that i'm taking a little bit more and then if you need to get a brush go ahead and grab a brush and just really fine tune it right up underneath your brow and take a little bit of contour here girl now it's time to blend out now i want you to take that setting brush i want you just to begin to tap and blend all of those edges so you can't tell where anything begins or ends just like that keep going girl blend out those edges and then even with the nose just tap i just want you to tap i don't want you to move anything i don't want you to rub it i just want you to tap and that is how you get a soft contour down the nose no we're not doing stripes over here fabulous okay girl now time for the next hack now i want you to take your beauty blender and take your morphe setting spray i love this setting spray because it actually still gives you that dewy look but it sets it at the same time if that is the look you're going for but right now we're just going to use it to dampen the sponge and then we're going to tap it all over the face and make the skin just glow and lock in everything that we've done so girl be generous not on the lens girl don't spray it on the lens then just tap it and just watch how your skin just or the makeup just look like skin especially underneath that eye how pretty this is like part one of my favorite hacks tap it girl just keep going twirl your puff as you need to oh what talk about seamless we could really stop the video but we got blush and lips to go coming back for lash okay so i've got the lashes on so this wasn't really about putting on lashes it's what happens after you put the lash on so after you have your lash on you know how sometimes when you look down people can just see that there's a band there right like you see my band right the hack is this skin that's there it's very loose skin so what you want to do is take that skin and squeeze it over that band just like that just squeeze it and then it looks like the lashes are coming right out of your eye that's the hack okay that is the hack and i'm gonna do the other side just squeeze it that skin right over that band baby baby that is the lash hack girl bye bye bye bye and by the way by the way the lashes that i used i got these from beauty supply house they're not the ones i normally use but these are pretty good they're new york lashes 3d mink lashes um and it's number ny45 okay so that is that hack now i did put a little bit of bronzer right on my lid because that's what we're doing for shadow and so now we're going to just go ahead and finish off the face so these aren't necessarily hacks these are just things that you would normally do adding a little bronzer adding a little bronzer on top of where you've already bronzed and i'm just tapping it and because it's there i clearly see where to put it just like that i mean this is a beautiful clean girl look y'all that is going to last like i'm loving my under eye oh okay so we've got our bronzer now we're gonna do a little bit of blush very little i'm using my makeup by yolando brush palette blush palette and i'm gonna be using this one here because i don't want a lot of color we're doing very soft beautiful minimum makeup just a little bit on top of that bronzer that just woke the face up a little bit more yeah i know you see it i know you see it girl i know you see it but then here is the hack i want you to go back to your bronzer and if you have a desire for your lips to look a little bit more plump girl take a small pencil eyeshadow brush something tiny tiny bristles like this and you're going to go on the outer rim of your lips i am one who likes the look of a fuller lip so you're going to take that darker bronzer take it girl right underneath just like that and then the same on top right above your lip line i just go with the natural shape of my lip just like that and that gives it a more just a fuller look but softer not heavy from the lip liner now i'm gonna take a little bit of my lip liner and just go on my regular lip line and i'm gonna do chestnut just like this can y'all see girl bye and then i'm gonna use a lip gloss by nyx it's called bling what's the number let me see girl i always gotta get my glasses does it no it's just called bling but i'll make sure to put the number in the description just a little shimmer y'all let me behold how fabulous my skin looks how fabulous my makeup looks it's so clean it's so cute that is the lip hack we almost down to the wire y'all we almost at the end hang in there with me and listen for those of you who like darling i love gloss but it just comes off it just doesn't stay girl this is the other part of this hack take a little bit of your concealer with a brush tap it in the center just rub together just like that so it gives you that halo effect right and then just go over it again with your gloss oh that made it look even better hang in there with me we're down to the last hack okay baby now we need to seal this guy so what i like to do is actually use two i'm gonna first use the morphe continuous mist because why this helps to melt everything in all the powders everything that you've put on top it helps to melt it in remember we came back and we did bronzer and we did blush so this is going to give you that dewy look but then this right here this is going to seal everything in so first you want to go in and you want to get it all over then you wanna get you one of these girl get you one and help it to dry and you want to make sure it's completely dry so as you can see that alone looks amazing right looks like a dewy beautiful skin oh just gorgeous and then you want to seal it with this one size these two together sign seal and deliver oh my gosh i girl you cute you cute yes you are anyway that's it you guys so these are
