okay well I've always wanted to test out
going live hopefully window and I found
a live sand dollar so I've been out here
for a minute I'm on Fort Meers
Beach I found a live sand
dollar
it's doing fine and
well so all the live
Critters I'm stay at the beach but I
can't believe it's January and I have my
feet in the water so that's a live live
sand dollar it's pretty nice morning
it's a little bit um windy and at least
there's a couple of people down here um
I have managed to find bunch of sand
dollars my friend Paul gave me a cone
I'm probably not going to find it right
now I could go through my shell bag but
I have been
shelling not making a video I'm actually
just kind of wandering around picking up
shells um like I said I wanted to test
it and go live so I'm on the south end
of Fort Meers
Beach
uh it's you know it's not very green
still because of the
hurricane um and you'll have a lot of
the buildings are still under
construction and so that's that's the
update I always kind of give you when I
come down here put I'm at the south
south end this is my favorite from a
shelling standpoint you know it's been
okay today it's been okay I got quite a
few things in my shell
bag it's very different from me I
usually don't have my video I usually
don't just roll I kind of chop up my
videos but I like this clay the crown
con tend to hang around in this
clay it's a piece of an angel wing I
have found um a smaller one it's just a
piece of one see if there's
anything there a Venus
clam so let's see I found a couple sand
dollars lots of clams the Calico clams
Sunray Venus clams couple of the giant
cockos got one tiny angel wing oh and I
ran into my friend my shelling friend
Paul he uh he gifted me a
cone it's a lot of seaweed down
here but you know what's nice it's nice
to see a couple of people out a lot of
times I come out well granted it's
Saturday sometimes I do come during the
week oh I'm going to stop and get
this Sunray Venus
clam I do like
this so yeah in the videos I don't
normally film this oh I think it might
be broken yeah the rose petal telon Fort
Myers Beach is fabulous for the rose
petal ton
shells I feel like this is going to be a
good area for them too there's got to be
more
here yeah a little slim down here I mean
there shells here's a dis
doia there's a dosinia here's oh there's
see oh Beach
Bowl oh look it's beautiful cranberry on
the
inside oh that's gorgeous
yeah hold on to that Beach Bowl
fantastic I was also thinking of going
home cleaning my shelves and just
putting all of these on Etsy ooh I got
to be care I don't want to sorry if I'm
shaking
around put my fort Meers Beach shells on
Etsy all right lots of seaweed
here
see
oops little rose petal tellon
uh rose petal
tellon lovely morning for a walk it has
been so warm here it's been I today it's
going to I don't know maybe in the 70s
or 80s the last couple days yesterday it
was in the'80s it which for me I just
feels unusual but maybe not I've only
been here here a couple of years only
had a couple of Florida Summers under my
belt oh I will tell you though I'm going
on Monday
oh shiny pointy lettered Olive cannot
resist that Monday I'm going um
to I'm going on a 10,000 Island shelling
tour and I'm super bummed because here's
a
discosia well I shouldn't say I'm super
bummed it's going to be in the 40s so I
am not really looking forward to that
but the day before is supposed to be a
little bit stormy so that could kick up
some good stuff so I'm going to freeze
my tail on Monday but hopefully it'll be
worth
it we shall
see yesterday I took a guided tour with
the Santa Belle shell Museum I made a
new beach friend Jesse that was very
exciting I learned some stuff that I in
turn can you know pass along to to you
so here's a rose petal
ton here here's two of them very
different let's see any other any other
good tinies here it's just kind of well
here's a little itty bitty this is a
channel duck
clam I don't know yeah rinse these
off buy shell
so another yeah another little lettered
Olive a broad rib
cardida
fabulous there's more Talon there's
another rose petal Talon it's broken
though here's one
tiny
onea yes another
doia see a couple here's another rose
petal ton no it's broken I won't keep
that
one what we say that's all the shells
here's a cawk oh it's alive is it wait
let's
no no it's Pack full of mud so that's a
cog they're kind of cool I didn't used
to appreciate them growing up in New
Jersey um and then I came here and I
really really couldn't care less morning
good
morning let me a little starfish take a
picture of that one and someone I think
you're not keeping it though it's alive
it's not alive it is alive it's
alive
it's dead well you do you
okay it's it
dead yeah if I'm not sure I always just
leave it at the beach I um had it way up
there okay all right well this is me
good you have a good morning not even
flexible yeah if you
don't not a brittle star no it's not a
brittle star that's a short spine sea
star yep I just encourage people if
you're not sure to just leave it in the
beach yeah I usually do too good have a
good
morning yeah and I'm working on that
video about collecting live things look
that's an albino well no I don't think
that's albino it's a very
light yellow prickly
Taco yeah so the C- hogs for whatever
reason I've come full circle I kind of
like them again this one with all the
mud I'll leave that I'm going to keep
this one
though and uh yep I'm also working on a
video trying to explain to people the
difference between live things and dead
things things that are okay to collect
and things that probably should be left
at the beach I am not a marine biologist
or a doctor or vet anything even very
smart like that so if I don't know if
it's questionable I leave it at the
beach and that's I just encourage other
people to do the
same ooh one of my favorites oh I love
these so that's a Fighting Conch oh and
it's absolutely beautiful on the other
side oh we got some Barnacles here
though so it doesn't look like a volcano
so this this one looks like a volcano
this one does
not so that means it could be viable and
so I don't keep it it's a barnacle they
are actually an animal too I'll be at a
little weird a little weird weird animal
but it's an animal
nonetheless fighting no I'm not going to
keep that one so pretty
though I see comments I'm having a hard
time reading them I apologize I'm just
going to keep going I'll read them later
I'm sorry cuz usually I can't even see
what's going on the camera anyway you
know when you try to read things on your
phone when you're at the beach well
imagine trying to film and it can be
difficult at
times so this will be fun to go home and
check out see if this is something I
might want to do again in the future who
knows hopefully you can hear
me oh look how pretty that one is it's
perfect yeah so I'm going to hold on to
that fighting
con and my shell Big's not that full so
I feel like I can I don't have have to
be all that picky I don't have all that
much in my shell bag another Sunray
Venus clam another here's a hinge
dosinia there a ponderous Ark I don't
talk about those a lot it's got all its
black periostracum on it oh and I was
just telling my husband about the
tagus he asked me earlier if IID ever
found a razor clam and I said no I have
not but I have found tegas shells so
that's a little
tegas I'll show him later
here is a Calico clam super
fancy oh look a little
tulip oh it's
broken it's broken though so I'll
leave the little
tulip spiny Jewel
box complete with a hole like if you're
going to make jewelry out of it maybe
someone else will find that useful
there's another one of those
tagas
cool is this yeah
that's nah I was going to say I think
that's an albino but it's not it's a
prickly cockle but I think it's just
very bleached bleached from the
sun it's a broad rib
cida
to oh that's
lovely and it's beautiful
interior yeah yeah we'll hold on to that
too oh that's a pretty
scallop so a Calico
scallop
lovely hi Wisconsin I got to see that I
could see a
little y i fig well I wasn't sure like I
wanted to go live and I wasn't sure so I
didn't really want to announce it and
promise anything so I'm just testing
this we'll see what happens you
know see what happens and who you know
in the future I could always you know
announc that I'm going to come down here
I obviously I can't control what all I
find but I never can anyway can I so
here's some broad rib
cardas I think they're super fun oh a
nutmeg little common
nutmeg now I you know what I cannot say
anymore I I used to say I've never found
a hermit crab in a nutmeg and I finally
did it took a couple years but I finally
found a hermit crab in a nutmeg and I
believe I will show that to you next
Sunday there's a broken shark eye
bummer hello hello Caren so I can see a
little so nutmeg was fun and I'm
actually kind of excited Sunday which is
tomorrow we have the dry tarus trip
um yeah I'm kind of excited to share
that that that was a fun holy cow that
was a fun trip I didn't even see this oh
all right so this is a lightning Welk
egg casing the mommy lightning Welk
anchored this to the C4 and it has come
loose so I'm going to examine this and I
hope that it's mostly empty that we look
at these
discs and we're not going to see oh
bummer I see some bibes in there yeah
okay so you can excuse me you can also
see there's some water in there that's
kind of moving around so these could be
viable I'm going to bring them back out
into the
water um you know is it I don't know if
they'll survive or not but I just know
that this that is viable and there's
some other egg casings here too I think
that that is a h shoot it's either
abandoned tulip or a lace mircs I don't
remember which but I'm going to take
this Giant Egg casing it's probably I'm
going to be it's probably not going to
help it just makes me feel better that I
I
try maybe it'll sink so I'm going to
take it out a little bit kind of push
that out and
hopefully the babies can you know cook a
little bit longer and become little
little lightning wel
seashells well that was kind of
exciting yeah Beach yeah not green
it's from the hurricane this used to be
green
and well it'll come back it's just going
to take some
time so that's Lover's Key over there
that that Island there that's Lover's
Key across the channel that's big Carlos
Pass so I'm really on the south end oh
there's a pretty
scallop so so since I have your guys
attention let me know what you think I
will go back home and read all the
comments is this something that I should
maybe try in the future or do you prefer
well I I'm not going to stop my Sunday
videos but should I maybe plan a walk
like go out and and I I stopped because
I found a albino prick the
coaco that one's really pretty let me
know what you think should I plan on
doing this in the future can you hear me
is it too
Jumpy the video and all is this work you
know is this give does this bring bring
any value to you do you enjoy
this thank
you thank you for letting me
know all
right looking for the
next next good seashell here's a little
little juvenile Fighting Conch oh that's
a good one it's all spiky
yeah keep that
one and it's funny too because up up
north on the um the water was very very
clear and now it's it's cloudy like I
was walking in the water before I could
really
actually it's not we've had rain
normally the water will get very like
Caribbean Blue when we don't get the
freshwater rain mixing with the salt
water so that's why it gets a little bit
cloudy when the fresh water from the
Kusa Hatachi mixes with the salt gulf
water it kind of just makes it cloudy so
in the spring I know it's January but
we've had some rain which is just to me
it seems weird that we would get rain in
the winter
but like last winter I I felt like it
didn't rain for 5 months and I guess I
just expected it again but you know what
it's Florida I guess Florida keeps you
on your toes with the weather I'll tell
you
what a buttercup
Lucine thank you who do I see that oh I
can't read the name well thank you for
your comments it's going to be helpful
to me later so I appreciate you thank
you so
much all right it's getting pretty flat
here I'm wondering if we should go
through my shell bag so I could just
kind of show you the things that I've
collected so far and then maybe we'll
sign off so I'm going to do that see if
I can do this as quickly and efficiency
efficiently as possible cuz I hook my um
my shell bag to my backpack I was having
neck pain and I was afraid it was
because of the weird way I carry my
backpack and my shells so now I have my
shell bag like attached to my backpack
so everything is completely linear like
I'm not hunched
over
so so today I have collected so there's
a couple sand dollars in here here's my
sandard container so we have ah it broke
not all of them
survive so I have 1 and2 sand dollars
put that on there and then oh actually I
have the sweetest
shell
um so we
have giant Atlanta
cockle uh the cross these are Sunray
Venus clams those are fun and then I do
like the um Calico clams oh a
hinged spiny Jewel box so I did find one
of
those kind of fun bag um let's see
olives a bunch of really shiny glorious
yeah
olives uh obviously the rose pedal towns
I did actually find a really nice turkey
wing kind of when I first got on the
beach it's a nice looking turkey wing
but the shell I really wanted to show
you where is
it here it is so I have I have a bunch
of beautiful fighting
conks
and uh you know the prickly cockles
juvenile
things your your oh there's a lace mirx
actually my husband found that that
needs a little bit of TLC but that will
clean up quite lovely lace mirx and this
now I did not find this but there is a
gentleman who I see shelling down here
and he uses a walker so he needs
assistance and so he uses his walker and
he comes down shelling and I just adore
this man and so I was chatting with him
he always finds the cones he he just has
something with his cones and his name is
Paul and look if I don't know if you can
see right there you see a little pee so
he gifted me this cone which I thought
was really really sweet and this will be
very special to me cuz I thought I don't
know I just thought that was really nice
of him so I have a fun show that uh some
fun shells here you know what I maybe
I'll put them on Etsy later you know
I'll clean them up and get them on Etsy
we'll see but I'm having a great time
here thank you for allowing me to share
a little bit of my Saturday morning with
you I hope you can hear me I'm going to
continue my glorious walk down here I'll
see you again I'll see you tomorrow on
our regularly scheduled Sunday video oh
guys there's a dolphin
wait I'm not going to see is it more
than one this is why I love Florida can
you I hope you can see it all right I'm
going leave my shells there I'll yell
anyone see it see it look it's right
there
oh my
gosh so I'm going to hang out a minute
maybe it'll do that
again so it's feeding it's um it's kind
of coring the fish it found some fish
and it's going to try to drive the fish
into more shallow
water shoot I'm leaving my shell bag but
that's okay yeah my shell bag's
fine that's so exciting and I we I saw
they were very I guess the Dolphins are
very active right now cuz I saw some
Dolphins yesterday on sound about as
well as well it looks like just one
normally when you just see one that's
going to be a male they usually travel
by themselves or in pairs kind of like
elephants I guess they act the same way
the Pod is for the mommies the babies
and the females and then once the males
get too big and rambunctious they get
kicked out so it's probably a
male good luck dolphin good luck flipper
all right that was a cool way to sign
off so thank you so much everyone I hope
you enjoy the rest of your weekend and
I'll see you tomorrow
bye
