You’ve Never Heard Happy Birthday Played Like This

To celebrate Prof. Rodney Friend's Birthday, 14 of his students got together to give him the best gift a violin teacher could ask for: Happy Birthday played 10 times, but in different styles, genres and composers.

Originally composed by Peter Heidrich for string quartet, this lively set of variations has been specially transcribed for 14 violins and performed by students of Professor Rodney Friend at Fei Tian Academy and College.

Each variation is inspired by a different musical style or composer:
