Frédéric Chopin completed his Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11, when he was 20 years old. He dedicated the piece to Friedrich Kalkbrenner and premiered it on 11 October 1830, the eve of the November Uprising, at the National Theatre in Warsaw. He told Tytus Woyciechowski that there were 'lively bravos'.
