Franz Schubert's Piano Sonata in B major, D 575, is a solo piano sonata that was published posthumously as Op. 147. Schubert composed the sonata in August 1817.

While Schubert's music was appreciated by a relatively small circle of admirers in Vienna during his lifetime, interest in his work increased greatly in the decades following his death.

Its publishers dedicated the piano sonata to Sigismond Thalberg.

Thalberg (8 January 1812 – 27 April 1871) was an Austrian composer and one of the most distinguished virtuoso pianists of the 19th century.
