Peaceful Truck Camping in a Montana Rainstorm - ASMR

Guys, as you can hear and see, probably it is raining fairly hard right now.
So wasn't expecting this much rain.
I knew it was going to rain a little bit, but this is a little bit more than I was initially
expecting.
Also, we struggled finding a spot tonight.
So the cards were not in my favor for finding a spot along a river, a lookout spot, whatever
it was.
I tried everything in the book tonight, and unfortunately, we just came up with a no win.
So we are pulled off the dirt road, kind of just on a small logging road that kind of
goes up the mountain just a little bit.
So we're not too far off the main dirt road, but it's not bad.
And honestly, with a situation like tonight with the rain, I'm okay with that because
the rain is going to make the video.
The rain is going to give the sounds that you guys like, there's lightning, there's
some thunder as well.
So hopefully you enjoy all of that.
We've got the Howe fire pit going right now, which is providing some great warmth.
I'm so glad I brought that tonight.
And dinner is going to be elk smash burgers of some sort.
I probably won't talk too much during this video, just want to give an update and an
introduction to it.
But I think just with the rain and lightning and the thunder, I want you guys to enjoy
that as much as possible.
So if you haven't already, leave a like, leave a comment at some point in the video.
And if you're not subscribed, what are you doing?

a rainstorm.
Morning, everyone.
Enjoying some coffee and the warmth of the Howe this morning.
This is probably one of my, it's going to be my favorite cup for a while here.
I don't know if you guys can see that.
Crazy Mountain 100 Yeti coffee tumbler.
So it's crazy because last weekend, today is August 3rd, the last weekend we ran or
attempted to run the Crazy Mountain 100 down in Lenup slash Martinsdale, Montana.
Didn't go as planned, but extremely happy with my performance considering I basically
found out I got into the race two weeks before.
So two weeks of planning, prepping, trying to rally a crew together, made it 65 miles,
which is a PR distance for me, ran for 24 hours, hallucinated, saw Teletubbies in the
woods.
It was quite the experience.
But this is an awesome mug that Megan, the race director, they engraved.
So this is going to be my cup for quite a while.
Probably.
I like this style of Yeti anyways because it fits in the cup holders a lot easier and
it also fits underneath the Keurig, if that's what I'm going to use for coffee in the morning.
So just a chill and relaxed morning.
I thought I brought something for breakfast, just threw in some cottage cheese with some
blueberries.
Didn't throw it in the cooler, unfortunately.
And where I was at yesterday, a little bit higher elevation, there's tons of huckleberries
still.
Right now we're a little bit lower.
So we came down from the mountain and it seems like a lot of them down here are just kind
of past their season or they've been picked by people.
But yeah, so just coffee this morning, not super hungry anyways, and just kind of warming
up a little bit with the Howl Fire.
Again, my mind has changed about propane fire pits.
Not only with the Howl, if you have an Ignic or a LavaBox, I definitely see the use for
them now.
And I didn't check, we might even be in a fire ban, which technically the Howl is approved
for fire bans to use because it has a knob that you can turn on and off the propane.
But in situations like that, when you have a fire ban, it's just, yeah, the propane fire
pits are something else.
And like last night when it's raining, I really can't have a fire in this area or something
close to the truck.
So I was able to drop this Howl right next to the truck and at least have some warmth
while making and eating dinner.
So really just, yeah, it's changed my mind on propane.
And we will be upgrading the heater in the truck for this winter as well.
That will be coming soon.
Excited to try that this winter.
So nothing against diesel heaters or anything like that.
I've used diesel heaters for basically the last three years of camping.
And while they can be finicky, I think as long as you understand the basics of using
a diesel heater, they are fantastic.
But we just have an opportunity to try a propane heater, and I think that will just be really
a game changer for this next season.
I'm excited to try that, put it through its paces.
And now since we also have the Howl, we have this larger propane tank, so it kind of just
makes sense to heat the truck with propane and then also have the propane fire a bit.
More of that will come once it gets installed.
There's a lot of actually some cool changes happening in the back of the truck that just
opportunities that I'm thankful for and excited to show you guys those changes.
I think it will be cool just going into the winter camping season, which is crazy to think
about.
I know I haven't posted a ton of videos during the summer.
I've just been super busy with training, traveling for work.
We're a little bit more full-time now with Onyx as well as a contractor, so that's been
taking up a little bit more of my time during the week.
And yeah, just every summer, guys, I'm telling you, it goes by just like that.
So if you're out there, try to take advantage of those summer days.
Try to get out and camp as much as you can.
I mean, it's already August.
We're already planning into September, and then really at the end of September is October.
And once October comes, it's winter's knocking.
It's very close to that point.
So we're going to try to get out as much as we can in between now and then, but fall camping
is always spectacular.
Less people out there, and with the changes of the trees, the colors, it's always super
pretty.
