There are fantastic cameos.
You really can't wait.
Yeah, don't you?
No, I'm not going to.
I'm not.
I'm like the Disney police over here.
You're not the Disney police.
They've already seen the trailer.
It's like embedded in me since I've been 10.
I know, it's all good.
The Disney police are not going to come and arrest me, Lindsay.
Don't worry.
I'm not being muzzled because I haven't said anything.
But remember, they've already seen the trailer.
I watched the first film about a week before we started shooting.
The idea of walking a mile in somebody else's shoes is just a universal thought.
We all look at everybody else's life and think,
Oh, I wonder what it would be like to have that life.
My wedding's tomorrow.
Oh my God, my wedding's tomorrow.
I can't marry Ryan.
Ew.
The body swap is so you feel what the other person feels like.
I saw it like about a week into a shooting.
Oh, this time?
Yeah, and I didn't watch the whole thing.
Just your part, your part, your part.
Just me, me, me, me.
Actually, kind of, because I was watching the guitar solos and the guitar scenes
because I wanted to compare, see how much better Anna had to be
after playing that long over the span of time.
And I wanted to see my son's reaction if he noticed yet that that's mommy,
but I don't think he got it.
I think the best part of reuniting with Pinkflip was the fact that
we all felt like when we saw each other, the whole band,
it felt like we'd never left each other.
I forgot how much I loved the music from the original movie.
And it's the original band.
And then, yeah, it's just so great.
I've had the great fortune of traveling around the world
talking about movies, and I had the Halloween series,
and that took me around the world.
We went everywhere, and every country I went to.
What about Freaky Friday?
The energy and the enthusiasm behind the constant refrain.
But what about another Freaky Friday?
She called the studio directly and said, make this movie.
I called the studio directly because one very important fact existed.
Lindsay was old enough to be the mother of a teenager.
You can't do this movie without Lindsay having a teenager.
It wouldn't work if Lindsay was playing the mom of a 15-year-old,
but the math didn't add up.
Then you would be like, wait, math.
And I did the math. I literally did.
Believe it or not, I actually did math.
Her age, minus 15, it was like, oh, it'll work.
And so then I happened to call the studio.
It's the first time I'm playing a mom.
I played one in Labor Pains for the very second at the end,
but you didn't see it. It's like I go into labor.
So I've never played a mom before on screen.
So it's special to me.
What's happening?
It's all right.
Who's in my body?
It's okay. It's me, Harp. It's mom.
Wait, what?
If you're me and I'm you, then who is that?
I'm grandma, sweetheart.
The necklace I'm wearing, which I wear,
which I also gave to Lindsay,
which has our children's names engraved on the back.
I wear it in the movie.
It's the first time I've ever worn something of mine as Tess.
She's probably the closest to like Jamie Tess Tess Jamie.
I'm like, I'm very Tess-like.
My son's so young,
so I can't really compare to what it's like to have a teenager,
but I am very close.
Just wait, baby.
But I am very close with my younger siblings.
Just you wait.
So I do have that to refer to.
Oh, that's true. That's true. That's true.
And I'm the oldest in my family,
so I've grown up with my, you know, youngest brother and sister.
So I kind of use that.
Your lifelines, it's like they've intersected before.
You've walked in each other's path.
I just went into it as how Anna was then
and how different she would be now
and how she's learned from Tess.
And actually, this Anna is a lot more like Tess is.
I kind of used more of your character
and that really channeled, inspired me and channeled it.
Girls, that doesn't work.
Ow, ow.
I think I just peed a little.
They're such lovely girls.
They're so sweet. They're so mature for their age.
They became besties.
Yeah, they became best friends.
So, you know, when you're two young teenage girls playing.
Which is so fun for them,
because I didn't have any kids.
Right, you didn't get to be friends with somebody.
And they just became besties.
We all had to do exercises
where we all had to practice the switch,
practice mannerisms, watch each other.
You know, that's daunting.
You know, they're coming in and stepping in and taking,
we're flipping with them, each of us in our own way.
Also, I think you're forgetting the obvious part
that's scary like you're Jamie Lee Curtis too
and they're on set with you.
I'm terrifying, everyone.
I am terrifying, as you can tell.
You were asking her where she lived, right?
You were like, no, really, but where in that area?
And she was like, you're scaring me.
And you were like, good.
And she would squeeze my hand sometimes.
It's all good.
We all got along beautifully.
We had a really good time.
We had a group chat the whole movie.
We still have it going.
I won't tell you what it's, I can tell you what it's called.
It's called Freakies.
We have a Freakies chat, which is our internal,
just the four of us, because it's important that we,
as the people who've done this for a long time
and have been through a Freaky Friday experience with Disney,
to be able to be there for them to say,
this is really mind-messing, all of this.
And we're here.
And we're here in a safe place.
Like, we can say whatever.
And we have said things to each other
that we won't say to everybody else.
And that's been really lovely.
In fact, it feels a little weird to be doing this without them.
My face looks like a Birkenbeck
that's been left out in the sun to rot!
All of the original cast members are back, all of them.
Fully back, fully formed, fully aged.
It's kind of beautiful.
It feels nostalgic and brand new at the same time.
Love for it has grown for me,
especially now, doing Freakier Friday.
Everyone can find a part of it to relate to.
Teenagers always, parents always with their kids.
You know, the movies are to bring you together
and have experiences together that are beautiful and funny and sweet
and a little wacky.
And this has all of that.
You know, it was groovy.
