Yeah, basically we met busking a couple of years ago now, we've been busking together for for a while and
Somewhere along the way we started writing songs in my little room in in South London
We're just here to sing you a couple of covers on the street that hopefully you're gonna know and recognize
Okay, so you guys are gonna know this one. So yeah sing it with us
I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
But now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowds would sing
Now the old king is dead, lonely the king
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castle stands
Upon pillars of salt, pillars of sand
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
An old Saint Peter would call my name
Never an honest word
Oh that was when I ruled the world
It was a wicked wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Inside a window in a town of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become
Revolutionary sway
I fought my head on the sea of the plague
And I took profit on a lonely stream
And now who'd ever want to be king
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
An old Saint Peter would call my name
Never an honest word
Oh that was when I ruled the world
Roman cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
An old Saint Peter would call my name
Never an honest word
Oh that was when I ruled the world
Never an honest word
Oh that was when I ruled the world
