Hello everybody, I'm Christine Miller and I want to welcome you to today's episode.
In our last episode, we were talking about walking in love and how the way we act towards
others can affect whether or not we receive our healing in our bodies.
You know, if we'll walk in love, we can live healed.
If we don't walk in love, we will not live healed.
And so I encourage you to go back and listen to that episode if you have the opportunity
because that is so much of the time the reason why so many Christians are suffering with
weakness and sickness in their bodies.
And in some cases, people die prematurely because they just treat other people so ugly.
And so it's important that we learn to walk in love with one another.
You know, if we don't walk in love, it's an open door to the devil.
And we saw that for the believer, we're not living under a curse anymore.
Jesus redeemed us from the curse.
But we can open the door to the devil or give place to him by not walking according to the
scriptures.
And one of the greatest areas that we need to examine is, are we walking in love?
Now today I want to discuss another reason why many believers fail to receive their healing.
And this one is two inches below the nose.
In 1 Peter chapter 3 and verse 10, it says,
Now Peter is quoting here from the Old Testament from Psalm chapter 34.
And so it's saying if you want to actually love the life you have, you want a good life,
you want a peaceful life, you want a healed life.
You know, a life of sickness and disease is not a good life.
So if you want to love your life and you want to see good days on the earth, you have to
learn to master your tongue.
In other words, control what you say.
Now this is certainly going to include a refrain from speaking evil of other people.
You know, you can't just say anything ugly you want about somebody else and think you're
going to live in health or victory for that matter.
But today I want to discuss focusing mainly on managing our thoughts and our words so
that they agree with what God says.
You know, we can't expect to receive anything from God if we're not in agreement with God.
You know, God is way smarter than we are.
His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
And so as believers, our job is to find out what those thoughts are and then to make sure
that we're in agreement with them.
You know, God is not going to force his will or his plan on anybody.
And so if you won't agree with it, you're not going to have it.
But the way that you agree is you begin by saying what he says.
You start thinking like he thinks and you receive it and accept it.
Now here's a really good scripture in Proverbs chapter 18 and verse 21.
It says, death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat
its fruit.
Now I want to read that same scripture from the Message Translation.
This is so good.
It says, words kill, words give life.
They're either poison or fruit.
You choose.
Now that's part of the message.
It says, you choose.
So we see this.
God has given man the power of words.
God doesn't choose the words that we use.
We choose it.
You know, some people think God's controlling everything.
No, he's absolutely not.
He's not controlling everything that you say, but it would be good if we would allow ourselves
to speak only what he would want us to say.
So we have the power of choice.
We have the power of words.
And many people have no idea how powerful their words really are.
But words, according to that passage, they can either kill or they can give life.
And you know, when it comes to our health and well-being, it's never beneficial to speak
against our health or to speak negatively about our bodies.
You know, the more we talk about the problem, the worse the problem will become.
Now, this seems to be the opposite of what we're seeing and hearing in our world today.
Because if you turn on the news, you hear negative talk.
You turn on talk shows.
They want to talk about the problems people are having and the problems people are facing.
Psychology is all about talking about the problem.
What we need is more shows that talk about the answers, like this one that you're watching
right now.
You know, Jesus had something important to say about words.
He had a lot of important things to say, but we can only talk about a few today.
In Mark chapter 11 and verse 23, he said,
For assuredly I say to you, whoever, that means you or me, we're a whoever, says to
this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
Now, I don't believe Jesus ever told a lie.
These words are true.
He said that the things that we say with our mouths and believe in our hearts are exactly
what we're going to have in our lives.
Now this is important for us to understand, that we are the sum total of everything that
we've believed in our hearts and spoken out of our mouths.
And you know, so often we want to blame the devil.
We want to blame God when things go wrong.
But we need to look no further than what we're believing and what we're saying.
Because God has given us the power over our own lives.
We have the power to choose what we say.
Just like we read earlier, we can choose to speak words that kill or speak words that
bring life.
And so in looking at this passage from Mark 11, a mountain represents a problem that we
may be facing in life.
You know, for example, a sickness or a disease.
And Jesus said to say to that mountain, be removed.
Now so many people are doing this.
They're talking about the mountain or about the problem instead of talking to the mountain
or the problem.
Jesus never said in that passage, start talking about the problem.
He didn't say talk about the mountains in your life.
He said talk to them.
And that's why oftentimes sickness and disease is still in our bodies.
We could say this, people that talk about the problems all the time, they're hung by
their tongue.
You know, your tongue can determine the course of your life.
So it's the easiest thing in the world to just talk about the sickness and the disease
that you're dealing with.
And most everybody around us is talking about their health issues.
You go to the doctor, you have to talk about your health issues.
You read articles about health issues.
You see people on talk shows talking about health issues.
You see it in the news.
Everywhere you go, people want to talk about how they feel.
And that's the world system for you.
The whole world has been programmed to think and talk negatively.
But according to Jesus, what you say and believe is what you get.
And so we have to turn that around.
When we become a believer in Jesus, we have to start changing what we believe and changing
what we say out of our mouths.
And you know, we become an enigma to people around us when we do that.
Because everybody's so used to talking about it.
So if you're in a room with a bunch of people, and they're all talking about a certain issue
they have physically, and then they ask you, well, how are you feeling?
And if you pipe up and say, never felt better.
You know, the Word of God has promised me healing and I walk in divine health.
Well, how many know they'll all just stop and stare at you like you are a foreign entity.
Because that's not the way people talk in our world today.
Now, the book of Proverbs also says a similar thing.
In Proverbs, it says, what we just read earlier, death and life are in the power of the tongue.
Jesus said, you're going to have whatever you say.
All right, let's look at this Romans chapter 10 and verse 17 says, so then faith comes
by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
Since faith comes by hearing, the more you hear something, the more you'll believe it.
The more you believe it, the more you'll say it.
The more you say it, the more you'll have it.
Now this is going to be true, whether it's positive or negative.
If you're hearing something negative repeatedly, you're going to begin to believe it.
Once you believe it, you'll start to say it.
The opposite is true.
If you keep saying it all the time, you'll eventually believe it, and that's what you're
going to have.
So we have to be programmed by God to live our lives by the Word of God.
He doesn't force that on us.
We do that by taking his Word and putting it into our hearts and thinking about it,
pondering it, and then saying it out of our mouths until it becomes so much a part of
us that we can't think sickness or disease anymore.
You know, this is the same way that God operates.
He spoke and then things came into existence.
You can find that in the book of Genesis.
And whether we like it or not, the same thing holds true for us.
You know, in Genesis, the Bible says God created us in his likeness.
Not only his image, meaning the shape, but in his likeness.
How are we going to be like God?
When we say something and we believe it in our heart, it comes to pass.
So, here's an example.
The Bible teaches us that we're saved by what we believe in our hearts and say with our
mouths.
In Romans 10, verses 9-11, it says,
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised
him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.
Now, here's the good news about that word saved.
It also means healed.
It also means preserved or delivered or made whole.
And so, what we believe in our heart and say with our mouth doesn't just bring salvation
into our lives.
In other words, eternity in heaven.
But this is also how we receive the healing that Jesus has provided for us.
So words have something to do with our receiving.
In Proverbs 12, verse 18, it says from the Amplified Classic,
There are those who speak harshly or rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue
of the wise brings healing.
So we see the tongue again connected to healing.
Remember this, the world is programmed to be negative, but God is not negative.
God is positive.
God wants you well.
God wants you saved.
He wants you to have good relationships.
He wants you to have an abundance of finances to pay your bills.
We serve a good God, but we have to cooperate with Him.
We have to think His thoughts and speak His words.
And so, I just wanted to encourage you today, part of examining ourselves as Paul taught
us to in 1 Corinthians 11, is examining what are we saying out of our mouths.
And if we're not saying what God is saying, that could be one of the reasons why we're
not receiving the healing that He's provided.
So I encourage you, make an adjustment in your life.
Start saying healing words, and you'll see the healing power of God work in your body.
That's all for today.
If you were encouraged, I encourage you to like, share, and subscribe to our channel.
Until next time, I want to encourage you that God has a great plan for your life, and it's
so much bigger than you know.
God bless you.
