Motorcycle Trip to Magadan with Tenere 700. In this video series, I will show you my trip from Varna to Magadan. No fancy edition, just raw reality.
Welcome to the game.
How many kilometers?
No idea.
Alright.
I'll be able to eat something here, I guess.
Yeah.
It looks like the time of the good roads ended.
I don't know how many times today I put my raincoat, then remove it, put it again and
remove it, and the temperature rose to 11 degrees.
All good.
Well, not completely.
I even turned on hazard lights for more visibility.
What a beautiful picture.
Have a look at this.
Hey, my happiness was very short, but whatever.
Yeah, this is the place.
Now I have an interesting story to share with you guys.
This is a monument of a Russian motorcyclist Alexey Barsukov, who was killed here in this
place in 2010.
What is happening, actually, he opened his tent here on this parking slot to spend the
night, and a local drunk truck driver came here to his tent and asked him to drink together.
And Alexey said, I don't drink, sorry, but I wouldn't do it and just leave me alone.
And the driver went to his truck, took a shotgun and just killed him on this spot.
And that's why they've got this monument now.
And I was told about it, and I decided to come here and see it.
But about 50 kilometers away from here, I stopped early morning to make a breakfast.
And then a local guy came to me and asked me, are you going to the monument of Alexey?
I said, yes, I am going this direction.
Can you please make me a favor?
Put a sticker over there, our sticker, because he wanted to go and visit it.
But he missed the spot, and he said, I don't want to go back, so if you put it over there,
it will be great help for me.
That's why I'm going to put it now for him.
I'll put my sticker as well.
Yeah, interesting story.
So let's first put my sticker, because I found one empty spot here.
So I can put my sticker here, as a respect to this guy.
And then I'm going to put this.
The Ghost of the North is their club.
Let me see where I can put it.
It's just too many.
Maybe somewhere here.
OK, here, I'll put it here.
On the top of this.
All right, I'll put one more here.
Zdravstvuyte!
Put one more here.
And now I promised him to make pictures.
Sad story, but it is what it is.
It is written here,
Only God decided how long our life is going to be,
but you will decide how wide your life is going to be.
It's a nice thought.
Welcome to the game!
How many kilometers?
No idea.
Or maybe it will be just diversion for a while.
This is the village of Salavyovsk.
Maybe the road will go like this and connect again to the main.
I don't know yet.
Just a few kilometers.
But from Yakutsk to Magadan will be similar.
Here, from 26 sunny, for a few kilometers dropped to 22,
and dropping more, and it is raining over there.
So I have to remove the camera and put my rain gear again.
It is what it is.
It was very, very heavy rain,
but only for 15 minutes,
and I have to wash my motorcycle and my clothes from the dust
to be ready for the next dust.
The temperature dropped to 17 degrees.
But I can see that over there, it's nice, so...
Tinda!
1.30.
Too early to stop here, too early.
I will refill, eat something,
and I will continue to Nyuryungri.
Tank is full.
I just left the town.
I want to find a place to eat,
and then I will continue.
All right.
I'll be able to eat something here, I guess.
Yeah.
The place was not pretty,
but the soup that I ate was excellent.
And the price was 2.50 euros.
I got soup, bread, and tea.
Now, back on the road,
I've got 200 more kilometers to Nyuryungri.
And I hope I will be able to find a hotel there.
It looks like most of the traffic going into Vladivostok Road,
and then a little bit more to Tinda.
And now on this road, it's almost no one.
In my direction, I overtook for one hour maybe two cars.
So not so many people want to go to Yakutsk.
Or maybe it's just a co-accident.
We'll see.
Very bumpy road,
but it's a good chance to stand on the pegs
and release the pressure from my boot.
First truck I've seen from ours.
It looks like the time of the good roads ended.
Now I have a mix between asphalt, gravel, dirt roads, bad roads,
construction works, a lot of dust.
But that's alright.
That's why I'm here.
This end of the world, if you like to say.
I just entered in Sakha, Yakutia.
I mean the region.
And I'm on the way to a small town named Nyuryungri.
Where I plan to spend the night.
And tomorrow continue to Yakutsk.
Let me see, can I overtake this.
Because if not, I should stay always in this cloud of dust.
Ok, now or never.
Be in the camera.
It is time to start the real part of the trip.
The part that I came for.
And this is the section from Yakutsk to Magadan.
Which one will be similar as this?
Or worse, I don't know yet.
But yeah, so far so good.
I just wanted to show you this situation here.
To have an idea what kind of roads are after you get out of the main road.
And what you expect if any of you decided one day to come and ride in this part of the world.
Another one.
The old was so worn out that when I need to ride something like that, it was very slippery.
But now with this, it's just perfect.
Now it looks like I'm going down.
It was up, now I'm going down.
And of course, again rain for just 10 minutes.
Just to drop the temperature to 18 degrees.
And then stop.
I don't know how many times today I put my raincoat and remove it.
Put it again and remove it.
Eryungri, 20 kilometers.
Very nice hotel.
They have rooms, but expensive.
35 euros.
They also got hostel, which is 15 euros.
Perfect.
But they said that because I don't have Russian passport, I cannot stay in this hotel.
It's the most ridiculous rule that I ever heard.
But anyway, now I'll go to the town.
And try to find another hotel.
Whatever.
It is what it is.
Good morning.
This is the train station of Eryungri.
And this is the police station of Eryungri.
And my motorcycle was parked here.
Right to police station.
Under the surveillance cameras.
This was the place that I found hotel last night.
After I arrived in Eryungri.
And the first hotel said you need Russian passport.
Then I spent like 3-4 hours.
Riding around the town.
Checking all the hotels.
And there are many hotels.
And they were all booked.
All very expensive.
And then I found this one here.
Train station.
And came.
And it cost me 17 euros.
Not very comfortable.
Shared the room with another person.
But was the cheaper option that I have found.
And the only possible option that I have found.
Anyway.
It did the job.
Now is 8 degrees.
5.30 in the morning.
And I am on the way to Yakutsk.
Of course.
The fog.
First hour will be in the fog.
But anyway.
Today I have to cover almost 800 km.
And I prefer to start on time.
Let's see how is going.
But after hour or two.
I am gonna stop somewhere on the road.
Drink some tea.
Have a breakfast.
And then I will continue.
The hotel was at the end of the town.
So I will be very fast on the main road.
To Yakutsk.
Yesterday the fog was really thick.
And hot more than 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Today only 15 minutes.
And it is gone.
Almost gone.
But nothing compared to yesterday.
And the temperature rose to 11 degrees.
All good.
Well.
Not completely.
I even turned on hazard lights.
For more visibility.
Finally the fog is gone.
It was not 15.
It was 45 minutes.
But finally it is finished.
And now I can ride in more comfort.
Even temperature rose to 13 degrees.
Much better now.
Visibility is a big deal.
I am glad that
it was just a normal road.
Not a dirt road.
Because fog
in a combination with dirt
will be really bad for the visor.
And every time
when I try to clean it
I will scratch it.
But it was good.
So far so good.
What a beautiful picture.
Have a look at this.
The fog.
The sunrise.
And the road.
What a pleasure man.
What a pleasure.
6 o'clock and 15 minutes.
My happiness
was very short.
But whatever.
Whatever man.
Important is to ride.
This is not so bad.
Some kind of very old asphalt.
The mission today
is to reach
Yakutsk.
Which is already from this point
700 km away.
Of course
if it is a road like this
I cannot do it.
But I hope that it will be like yesterday.
Partly like this.
Partly normal roads.
So I can
make some progress.
But man
the views are fantastic.
Have a look now at this.
It's just...
So they are making
new road here I can see.
But when
it's a good question.
Nice moment here.
Just me on this road
and the sunrise and the fog.
I hope that you enjoy
this moment because I really do.
That's why
I came here.
That's why I came at the end of the world
to ride on non-paved
roads until we have it.
Because
even on Magadan road
they were working.
And the Russian guy said that
we don't know how much progress they've got now.
Which means that after few years
even this
Magadan road or this road here
will be gone.
Will be just asphalt.
It might be pleasure for many
but also we'll miss
the opportunity to
have the experience
that I have now at the moment.
Or you might be different.
You might not need that.
But man
it is
how I have to say
it's a challenge that
I'm happy to accept
if you understand what I mean.
Of course
as I said if it's in this condition
I wouldn't be able to make
700 km today
but I will do whatever
is possible so no rush.
Oh
hold on a second. I might get asphalt.
I might get asphalt.
Yeah
Asphalt.
It became May here.
It is time to stop
and have breakfast
here and this coffee.
Alright
cafe transit
I'll do it like this.
Ok
Nice place. Let's see how the food will be.
Perfect. More eggs.
Not so baked as I asked.
Tea. Bread.
Perfect.
Back on the road.
The Russian guy Pavel
that we spent
the night together in
Mogocha
is riding on the same road so basically
every time when I ride a little bit
ahead or he riding a little bit
back we always meet in the same coffee
so we're gonna ride together now
on the way to Yakutsk
I stopped because
I couldn't see Pavel in the mirrors
I'll wait
a few minutes
maybe he stopped for something
making pictures or something
if I cannot see him
I'll go back
So let's go up here
to have the maximum
as possible from the view
Pavel is very very heavy
with this Kyler 650
pan he loaded
like an elephant
and now of course
he is struggling and he was considering
sending some of these goods
back through the post
because it's just
too overloaded
Ok, so we're gonna have a nice view here
from the top
of this pass
This is the pass, the road goes like this
and then up and then go down
It is the end of July
and you can still see snow over there
Ok, this place was nice to see
let's go back on the road
because we still need to cover
many kilometers
if we stop on every corner
it is not going to happen
All right, back on the road
This is the first town or village
that I have seen after
200 kilometers
So maybe here
I'll be able to fill the tank
I'm still fine, I still have
half tank
but if I've got this chance, I will
Nothing in this village
so it will be the next Aldan
after 68 kilometers
Aldan will fill the tanks
and FT
Finally, to have one turn
the last 200 kilometers
mostly straight
straight road
Aldan
We've got a petrol station
All right, then we're gonna have some tea
wait a little bit
and continue
Ok
Let's do some break
513 kilometers to Yakutsk
Oh man
Accident
I'm not gonna tell you
what I do, but you can guess
It is so quiet here
I can hear the bees
landed on my helmet
We have a flat tyre, Pavel
I was waiting, waiting
but he did not come
so flat tyre
He has tube, so we're gonna change it
Operation successful, we have a new tube
It took us like
15 minutes
We'll see how good it's going to be
what we have done, but should be all right
278 kilometers down
It should be
Ulu
