Why Ride Dual Sport? Why Do We Ride Adventure and Dual Sport Motorcycles?

Why ride dual sport? Why do you ride dual sport and/or adventure motorcycles? I'm spending more and more time in the woods on my dual sport bike lately, and it's really gotten me thinking about why I love it so much. What's so appealing about riding alone or with friends in the woods? Why are dual sports the best and most fun type of motorcycle? For me personally, there are a few factors at play. Riding my dual sport in the woods affords me the opportunity to be truly alone with my thoughts: a real introvert's paradise. I love forest exploration and the opportunity to see a road and know I can follow it wherever it leads thanks to the capabilities of my Honda CRF250L. Why dual sport? Because it reminds me of great memories from my youth. Time spent exploring the forest with my dad and grandfather and all the fun we had off the beaten path together. This is my personal "why" of dual sport riding. Why do you ride dual sport/adventure/enduro/dirt bike/other off road motorcycles?
