Let's just get the obvious point out of the way right off the bat. I know that in a pure performance comparison of dirt bike vs dual sport, the dirt bike is going to be the faster and more capable motorcycle. Speed and capability aren't everything, however, and there are many important areas where dual sports are better than dirt bikes. You can just hop on and go any time you want, no truck or trailer needed! The great dirt bike/dual sport debate is not going to stop raging anytime soon, but there are many areas in which a dual sport beats a dirt bike. These are just my five favorites.
