This week's episode is a dash of grandma core meets a Christmas explosion, and I for one am here for it.
Hi there, I'm Jenna, and welcome to my channel where I take you on tours of unique homes.
We're featuring two tiny homes today that are completely over-the-top decorated, and I would say their theme is just more.
We're going to meet a mother-daughter duo who live in side-by-side tiny homes,
and this is part of a two-episode series where we're first going to take a look at the sassy grandma matriarch Judy's tiny home.
Oh God, you better not say that.
And then we're going to take a look at her daughter Gina's tiny home in episode two for double the space and double the decorations.
And if you like videos like this where we showcase unique homes and their homeowners,

Hi, I'm Gina, and this is my mom, Judy, and we live in side-by-side tiny homes.
I originally lived in the A-frame house, the main house on the property.
I decided that we needed to build a tiny home for my mom, Judy, so I put her one really close to my back door.
When my son was getting married, I had made the decision that I was not going to be able to keep up this property by myself.
It was a choice at that point to give the property over to Andrew and Emily and build myself a home.
Being together is very important for our family unit to have each other, but everyone have their own space.
When I first thought about moving on the property with my daughter in a tiny home, I thought about it a lot because I'm a very independent lady.
And I didn't know if it would work for us, even though we've always been close.
I decided I would write down what I had to have before I would agree to it.
I did get my wishes, and I love it.
We had my mom's home built by a company called Dirksen Factory, and they just did the basic frame of the house.
And then we hired a local guy that finished it out for us.
And her home was built for $25,000 total with having the local contractor finish it out.
I love having my mom close by because we are best friends.
We rarely are apart.
And we can talk off of our porches, even if we don't go to each other's homes.
Even when you're an old lady yourself, you need your mommy.
When I first moved into a tiny home, I was overwhelmed by its smallness.
I came from a large home.
The tiny home would fit in my living room.
A few months went by, I grew to enjoy it.
I loved living on property with my grandson and my granddaughter-in-law.
It's the best thing for us.
We can walk to each other's homes and knock on the door and deliver breakfast in the mornings.
And then I'd go from each person's house and bring food.
And that's what I love.
We bicker a little bit once in a while.
But we have it all together and we love each other.
And I think it's the best thing that ever happened to me.
My favorite thing about Christmas is getting lots of gifts.
Not having to give very many because I don't expect it from a poor old lady.
This is my little house here.
Every season I change it out to little different things.
And then this is my Christmas band that they play.
So I put them in here until after Christmas.
And then I'll have it to a mermaid scene in the spring.
And I love to do hobbies like that.
This is a Christmas tree I made out of lampshades.
I thought it was really kind of neat.
I put it up there in about 10 minutes.
And it was real easy.
I put all these up here myself.
I climb around.
Not too bad to be an old lady.
And I spray painted all the reindeer.
They were white and I got tired of them so I made them gold.
My tiny home is not so different from when I had a large home.
I just use fewer decorations.
It took me a long time to decorate my tiny home.
And the reason is I have such tall ceilings I have to hide from my family to get the big ladder out.
Because they won't let me use the big ladder.
So at times I have to wait a couple of days until they go somewhere and then drag out the big ladder.
This is a butcher block countertop.
I went ahead and went with it and it's just been fantastic through all of these years.
And this is a clock that I'm working on that I do seashells.
It was so popular everybody wanted to buy it but I'm keeping it for now.
I have everything full size.
My refrigerator, my stove, and my cabinets.
I have my china in here.
My desserts and baking here.
And then I have my canned goods over here.
So I have everything I need.
Oh.
Getting drunk.
You better not say that.
We are not big drinkers.
Please don't put that on there.
My daughter got me this hat from Neiman's.
But I never wore it because it's kind of big for my little head.
I like to do hobbies.
I created this wreath and covered this to match everything in here.
But I chose these colors because of the peacock.
I thought it would go well with that.
If you'll take a look up here, I love my ceiling.
It is made from reclaimed wood from an old barn that had burned down.
The local contractor, Wyatt Walsh, he did a fantastic job of getting this home to come together.
I have my bedroom. It's an all-open area.
So when I have company, we can all sit in the living room and enjoy each other.
I have this jewelry chest here which was handed down.
And it was a mess when I got it.
But I refinished it and antiqued it.
There's just not anything I won't try to accomplish.
And then I have some little people over here that I like to sit up underneath this table because they fit really well.
I really enjoy looking at them.
They're just a cute little scene.
My favorite Christmas song is Silent Night.
It brings back a lot of memories and it's so traditional that I really enjoy listening at it.
I wanted a piano, but I didn't want one too large.
So we went out shopping and I found this one that fit absolutely perfect here.
And it's not too wide.
So I love to play, but only by myself.
As you can tell, I probably would be too nervous to play it.
But I do enjoy playing and I probably play better than I think I do.
I think sometimes I should have got white, but I really love the black, the ebony.
I told Gina the things that I really wanted and I felt necessary for my house to be comfortable.
And the first thing was my full-size bathroom and full-size bathtub.
So that was a definite must-have.
After looking at my bath, you can tell that I love seashells.
I made all of these different mermaids and wind chimes.
My favorite is my mermaid here. That was my first one.
My favorite Christmas movie is Elf.
At the end, he's always happy and he finds his place in this big old world.
I think economically that this is just the best thing that can happen these days for families.
To all pull together and have a place that's paid for that they can live in.
With these tiny homes, you can live comfortably within a budget.
I think a tiny home is excellent for seniors.
And I recommend that if you are an elderly person, that you consider living on the property with your children.
You never know when you're going to need them and you're not going to get on their nerves while living with them.
Hope you guys enjoyed this week's episode.
Make sure you check out episode 2 of this series, which features Judy's daughter Gina's tiny home,
which is double the size and double the decorations.
