Hi, I'm Brad. I'm John. We're going to do, well, it's not old, but it's a little older.
Mission Solved cover this week.
Oh, yeah.
Because nothing made Dan happy. I mean, they're probably younger than you are.
Well, as in, you know, it's from several months ago. I was actually tempted to go all the way
back and actually kind of like grab one of their first ones, which we might do next week,
unless they release something new. But this was kind of, as I was scrolling through
requests and also kind of like, oh, it popped out. Yeah. So Mission Solved from the Philippines
are covering Queen's Clearwater Revival.
This one is Have You Ever Seen the Rain?
So it was written by John Fogarty and released as a single in 1971 from their album Pendulum,
which was released in 1970. Oddly enough, it actually charted higher in Canada than it did
in America. Go figure, because it was actually number one in Canada.
I guess those Canadians liked it more than we did.
Yeah, it was like number eight here.
36 in Britain.
No, you guys really didn't like it.
And you know, we still have the Beetlejeever or something.
I mean, well, yeah, possibly. A lot of people think it's a bit of a political song,
political message and stuff. It actually isn't, according to John Fogarty anyway.
The song concerns the tensions within the band itself and, well, the imminent departure of
his brother Tom Fogarty from the band, which actually I think happened shortly after the album
came out, was when he left. But yeah, he did a song about his brother leaving because he thought
his brother was going to leave because of the tensions and stuff in the band before his brother
actually left. It's like, hey, you can perform on this song that I wrote about you leaving.
So it wasn't a rule of politics. It was family band politics.
Yeah, it was band politics.
All right, well, let's check it out. Before we do, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
Check out the description down below. You can find all of the information and stuff
that we have down there. Okay, I shall hit the play.
Technical issues. That's my fault. Anywho, yeah, it's another great cover from a great family band.
Nice harmonies in there. Great playing.
Sure.
Yeah, and actually now they have the backstory of the song. The lyrics kind of start making
more sense. Yeah. Or make sense to that part than what most people probably think it is.
Yeah, it's kind of one of those. I didn't even realize that.
Because I don't necessarily tend to think too much about the meaning behind some of these songs.
Right.
It's kind of like, is there meaning or did it rhyme? Right. Because there are some
songs that it's kind of like, what's the meaning? It rhymed.
You know.
This is the past.
Yes.
I forgot to turn the auto pause off. Anyway, I just randomly noticed the guitar playing
daughter. Actually, I should say lead singing backup guitar.
So it kind of like just immediately made me think of Angela and Jordan,
always performing in their feet. Well, almost always performing in their feet.
There's a couple of exceptions because there always is, but yeah, predominantly.
Yeah.
Well, there probably are.
Well, yeah, they are.
Still, it's another member of the performance barefoot.
I'm going to have to try and pay attention to see if she normally does now.
Or if it's just a one off.
So off topic.
Very.
Yeah.
Have you ever seen the rain?
Well, once again, did another outstanding job.
Performing, covering the great classics.
Yep.
It's people like them that keep the great music alive.
Really is.
It's so much better.
Yeah, yeah, really was.
Stacy, incidentally, is the vocals and guitar.
And obviously.
Actually, a great vocals.
I haven't seen her play an instrument, though.
Yeah, I don't think she actually has to.
At least not in any that we've done.
I don't think she's actually done anything other than vocals.
Well, I said another great performance by him.
I mean, like I said, good to see, you know, I mean, obviously, the parents are older than
I don't know how old they're probably not.
Probably more your age.
But keeping, you know.
That old?
Keep keeping me keeping great music alive.
And they'll be doing a great job performing it and knowing how to actually play the instruments
are just not out karaoke yet.
So yeah, that's great.
So yeah, so we're obviously going to continue hitting them up.
So if you want to see any of those, make sure you get that like and subscribe.
