Hello everybody! Welcome and welcome back. On today's video I'll be reviewing Joby air
dry clay. A lot of you have asked me to recommend the clay. I know that there's a lot of brands
out there, but let's just start with the most affordable one. Let me see how this works,
what we can do and what we cannot. So let's just jump right into the video guys. I hope
you enjoy these glasses. I hope to enjoy it as well. It seems to be very light. This is just
aluminum foil wrapped up with black tape. This one is used for electricity purposes.
It's like a plastic so air dry clay won't stick to it.
I'm gonna start out by creating that egg shape. Easy to work with as you can see.
Okay guys, I think I'm done for today. It has like a shimmery powder.
I'm gonna try to break this plague. Incredibly light. It feels kind of paper-ish.
Besides that, the sculpting experience was great guys. I felt like it was
polymer clay to be honest. Really easy to work.
But this actually worries me. I'm gonna try to break it. I'm afraid that this clay will be just
too weak. Oh videos. Guys, this was just so weak. It feels like a magnet. So I'm gonna explain you
real quick if you're actually new on this channel. So I always work my pieces hollow as you can see.
I just use one of these armatures. I sculpt the face and I remove it so my piece will be hollow
this way. And it's also very thin. I'm not gonna show you. I'm working on it. So they will be
entirely hollow on the inside as you can see.
As you can see here, there's diffusion from the front part to the back part.
It resembles a ball-jointed doll. So guys, I am just too scared to remove this face.
This is a big no for me. I've been always worried about the strength of my pieces.
Honestly, this is just too weak. There you go. Yeah, Joby sticks to plastic a little bit.
That's enough.
It came off. It's dry. This is just the parts that I wet as you can see.
But I don't feel confident at all this clay guys. When I give it a try, I'm gonna sand a
little bit so I can... and carve a little bit so I can give you a full review on this clay.
For sculpting of course, guys. Okay, so far I've been honest with you guys regarding the performance.
It felt great. I actually don't like soft clays but it was okay, especially for beginners.
So as you can see, it falls apart very easy. I'm barely making any efforts, guys.
What I mean with symmetry or symmetrical is that both sides of the face are kind of the same.
It doesn't have to be perfect because we actually don't have our faces completely
symmetrical. When things are just too symmetrical, it looks weird. So I'm gonna open up his mouth
to resemble the character I draw. This clay is so soft that I barely need to wet the surface
to carve it. It kind of crumbles, to be honest. I've actually had some issues. It feels like an
overbaked clay, to be honest, you know. But it's perfect for studying. I know there's a lot of
people looking for a hobby. It's just that when you are a beginner and you try like a weaker clay
it is just that sometimes you have to be very careful when handling a weak clay.
I can focus on the details, on the gesture, you know. It's kind of...
Oh, so low. This will be only skin and muscles moving around.
The bone won't move. Eyelids as well, just a tiny bit showing.
Yeah, the clay don't stick to the surface if it's not wet a little bit, you know.
You see how it turns yellow? It actually kind of helps me see, I think.
Most of the time I just draw them as I paint them, but I want to sculpt them this time.
You know, this clay is really buttery and it's actually... it feels great, you know. You don't
Maybe? Oh, I didn't realize, but I already opened a hole.
Let me just... so how easy was that?
little bit when I took it off. They don't match that much. Okay, I'm kind of in a rush. I should
be painting by now. Let's see it on the front profile. Looks good.
Okay, it's getting late and I need the torso to dry, so I think I'm done for today. Okay.
This will definitely break.
Okay, guys, we have come to the end of this review and I've already said this many times,
but definitely I wouldn't recommend this clay for, you know, bigger projects. Definitely
not for doing hands, tiny details. It's just too fragile. I wouldn't recommend for, you know,
commercial purposes, you know, doing your side hassles with this. It's just not good
for those purposes, but for studying purposes, it's great. It is really easy to work with.
It holds a lot of detail. It dries super fast. It is super light. It is super cheap,
but as I said, it's just a big no for me. I just don't think I would like to, you know,
working in a couple of hands for, I don't know, two weeks and just seeing all crumble
to the slightest touch. So yeah, but besides from that, you can do, I don't know, animal studies,
something that it's, you know, really steady and that doesn't have tiny legs, you know,
like chickens and stuff like that. Guys, I want to take a moment to thank you all for,
you know, for being so nice and cute with me. I really appreciate your comments. It means a lot.
It's been really hard. YouTube, it's not an easy platform. I just want to thank you all.
Your comments really lift up my spirit. Your words really reach me, guys. And yeah,
thank you so much. I really hope to see you in the next video. I am already editing and I'm
pretty sure you will like it. So see you really, really soon. I love you guys. Take care and bye.
